It's time to give up on Mustafa Ali

They've tried so hard to get this guy over throughout the last nearly year or so and they've failed at every turn. They tried giving him a scrappy underdog gimmick getting his arse kicked by Lashley, Rollins and Theory every single week and nobody cared, they're having him be an overly sarcastic and smiling heel feuding with Dolph Ziggler, again nobody cares. Dude's either getting wins against other talent nobody cares about, or getting squashed by guys who surprise surprise, nobody cares about.

He just doesn't have what it takes to make a genuine impact in WWE, he doesn't fit the mold of a WWE wrestler, and that's ok, he's one of those wrestlers who would genuinely be better off touring the Indies or going to AEW, he's had enough chances to get over with the audience and it hasn't worked. It doesn't help he doesn't have any distinguishable gimmick or any semblance of promo skills or personality.

It was time to give up on him a while ago

They've tried so hard? Yeah, you know, I would never have guessed that him being an obnoxious whiny asshole who repeatedly got his ass kicked, picked fights with guys, and then got his ass kicked again, would not lead to him being a massive superstar. Who could have guessed?

He's a good wrestler who can talk and ticks a diversity box too. He's absolutely worth having around to make your SUPERSTARS look good. It's safe to say they 'gave up' on him a long time ago.

I'm not sure it was ever time to push Ali tbh.

At this point I think I'd call him "Ah-lee" and stick him with Maximum Male Models.

They tried making him leader of a group with Retribution and it didn't work out. He needs to be part of a group, but not the leader.

He's annoying and whiny but ok in the ring. He'd fit right in as part of the models group.

They really haven't tried as hard as implied. Mustafa has spent most of his time on the main roster putting others over. To the point that it was obvious that they gave up on him a long time ago and it's not believable that he has any chance of winning anything now because of it. The Hacker angle had some intrigue and they pulled the rug out from under him on that. Anyway, there will always be a place for Mustafa. Even if all he does for the rest of his time in WWE is lose to others. Someone has to.

iirc it was during the pandemic where WWE was cutting half their roster, Ali didn't like how he was being used (Retribution, fucking seriously? They also put Karrion Kross in that mask during this time period) so he wanted his release so he could go work elsewhere. I don't really think that's him being a dick or something. Maybe he was irritated that he went from getting a push with the Retribution crap that nobody would have gotten over, to most likely sitting in catering every week doing nothing?

He came back. He's more or less an enhancement talent, but so what? Maybe all he wanted was to not be involved in god awful angles or be stuck doing nothing at all? At least now he's in the ring most weeks working matches and getting paid.

When you create a new sock puppet account it helps if you don’t post all the same dialogue as your previously banned account and ranting about Kross in a fucking mask that he wore for about 5 seconds as an entrance.

Word salad sums your post up

I agree, there are so many talents like Ali, Corbin and Evans who have had multiple repackage jobs and nothing is getting over.
There comes a time to admit it isn't happening and stop wasting time on these people and give others who have actually got something to expand upon a chance instead.

The only positives I can say for Ali is that he is athletic but I could say that about most of the roster, there is nothing else other than a whiny mediocre look and performer that can not advance anything he is given.
I personally think guys like Drew Gulak, Chad Gable and Angel Garza who have the charisma, can talk and entertain and back it up in the ring but are barely given a chance to show it are far more viable to be elevated than Ali who just simply is not entertaining.
