Again, what is the fucking deal with this match? If you love Danielsons style of wrestling, it's Danielsons worst match, and if you love Ospreay's style of quote "wrestling", then it's Ospreay's worst match because it's the least video gamey, high spotty match he's capable of having. It doesn't resemble a Danielson match in any way whatsoever and it only kind of resembles an Ospreay match.

In order to think this is the greatest match ever and so many Internet marks do, you literally have to have just made up your mind before the ball rang, and I think that's what it is. People decided it was the greatest match ever before they saw it and they've dug in too deep.

The best matches on the list are Punk/Mcintyre, Bryan/Sabre and Bryan/Swerve.

That's the thing. It was a clash of different styles by two people who are best at those styles. The match was t an average Bryan or average Ospreay match. It was a mix of two.

It was driven by the fact both men wanted to prove themselves against each other. New rising star trying to prove he's the best against a legend on the tail end of his career trying to prove he still holds that title.

Ospreay going an extra length to win was a good storytelling that turned into him regretting his decision and turning complete Babyface with an added element of sympathy to his character.

The match itself was done well. It was high paced when it needed to, technical when it needed to be, exciting throughout and had some amazing highlight reel worthy sequences. Kept you on the edge of your seat because I literally had no idea who was going to win. Could have gone either way.

There was this chemistry between the two. Similar to Bryan/Omega. Where when the bell rang and you see both it just felt important and special.

I know you like 15 minutes of chinlocks because it "protects the bizzizz" but that boring shit has no place at the #1 of the list. Sorry. 😂

Punk/Drew HITC is #1 for me. It was violent and brought back what Hell In a Cell should be and that is a blowoff of a blood feud and not just a random match because its that time of year.

Danielson has had numerous matches in AEW better than the Ospreay one IMO.

The Swerve/Hangman stuff was just stupid: drinking blood, and needles it was just shock value and not in a good way.

Match wasn't memorable at all, but all of the 15 people who vote for these stupid awards eat this crap up
It says how many people voted in the OP. If you are going to call people stupid, get the number correct. Thank you.

Phenomenal year for Ospreay, considering that Ospreay’s best match vs Michael Oku wasn’t on the list due to not being in a major promotion.

The Bucks/Darby/Sting I originally wouldn’t have had listed that high, but given the impact of Sting’s win in his final match, and Darby’s insane back dive thru glass I think it’s fitting. The Darby spot would win spot of the year if I was picking.

Swerve/Danielson ehh I think is a little overrated. I think the Swerve/Hangman series of matches were way better.

Punk/Drew id have had higher than the Okada matches. Rough year overall for WWE. Very little quality to even pick from.
