WM 'Winner' winning the US Championship at SS

HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

BOOK IT! Just wow. Talk about your career imploding. Has that ever happened? And talking like.. without being the WWE Champion :p. Maybe they'll have a Reigns Open Challenge?

Anybody be like... oh yes.. Reigns won WM. Of course, this means by SummerSlam he'll have dropped the title and be contending for the US Title?

NO ONE EVER.

WWE are just going through their usual cycle. They realize he's not being cheered, but refuse to alter anything, so they're attempting to have the audience calm down by putting him in a midcard feud for a few months in hopes people will begin to like him.

Rest assured, come Wrestlemania time he'll be back in the main event, giving us another disappointing closer.

It's already been said but he's this generations Randy Orton. Anyone who thought he wasn't going to end up back in the main event is just as deluded as those who think he's going to receive the Cena push again. Vince is simply taking this opportunity to attempt to get him over as a top 3 - 5 face because he knows how forgiving his audience is once they believe someone is in the evil bosses dog house (whether it's deserved or not.)

I've lost count of the bleeding hearts who all of a sudden began "coming around" once he lost three matches in a row. He'll lose at Summerslam but Vince will take advantage of his fans being fickle mental midgets and fish for sympathy. Reigns will be a top guy until he retires unless he pulls a Jared Fogel. The hilarious part is when he goes back into the main event and all of the fans cheering him now realize that nothing about him had changed except his position on the card. He and Vince are playing the crowds like fiddles.

He's not being de-pushed. This is just WWE being 2 years late as usual.
They pulled an u turn just so that they can try to get him over with the fans so that eventually he wins the universal title from Rollins. Even then people will still boo the shit out of him. I don't get why they don't want to turn him heel. A heel run is the only way to salvage his connection with the fans that aren't soccer moms and little jimmies.

Who really cares?

Reigns doesn't always need to be in the main event scene, it's not exactly a depush.. all top guys had their main event scene runs then go into other feuds for 1-2 months to allow the main event to stay somewhat fresh with new guys

Fans today make too much of a big deal out of such small things, Rock losing to Hurricane after his title run.. he's just doing something else whilst others are in the main event for a break

I guess it's not really that curious. They gave him this massive push, he failed to get over in the way they wanted him to, and while he's in the midst of his title run he failed a drugs test...it's not that surprising, and it's what they should have done a while ago when it was obvious that he wasn't going to be successful in the role they put him in.

Now, he been put down the card into a US Title program, however they still haven't changed his character. He'll be pushed again, I just wonder if they'd stick with the same old character and title push they've done for the last two years.

Given how little the Wellness Policy actually means in WWE, I'm assuming Reigns depush is more to do with this whole "new era" nonsense. WWE can "prove" it isn't out of touch by hotshotting Finn Balor into Reigns usually booking slots, he'll be utterly dominated by Rollins at SummerSlam and go crashing down the card as Reigns soars up through it and all equilibrium will be restored once the whole "brand split" novelty has cooled off in a few months.

No, Ambrose and Rollins were doing fine in the Main-Event slot, I don't see a lot of fans turning on them. However I was always indifferent towards Ambrose and him being in the title-picture changed nothing on my opinion about him.

Ridiculous thread, and ridiculous people.

If John Cena can be a former 15 time World Champ who went for the US Title then I dont see how it reflects as badly as people are suggesting on Reigns.

The guy cant win though, everyone bitches when he's Main Eventing, and then mocks him when he's midcarding. But at least Roman is/has been in the midcard unlike the IWC darling Seth Rollins who has never midcarded in his 4 years in WWE, just one big megapush to the top and hypocritically no one complains about that...

I agree, it is ridiculous. But don't worry, Finn Balor will send Seth Rollins down to the midcard where he belongs just as he did Roman once he beats him for the Universal Title at Summer Slam.

I'm thrilled that he's going to be in the US title match. They should have a good match and the best part is that Rusev is finally going to get cheered a lot. He can say whatever he wants to say about how terrible America is before the match but it's not going to matter. Roman is going to get booed and RUSEV gets cheered. It's going to be great. I'm hoping for a "Bulgaria!" chant for the guy.

Yep. He won't win at SS and once he loses, that's when the IWC will fall in line and finally grow soft on the guy who is unjustly being persecuted by the evil Mcmahon's.

"We never really gave him a chance."

"He has improved, guys."

"He just does his job and tries to support his family." (We'll ignore 99% of these guys and girls have a family, too. As if they're the only family and the individuals who will and have been buried for his benefit don't have a family worth mentioning.)

Vince will drink in those "We want Roman!" chants during Finn or Seth's promos during the fall, and when WM season rolls around, that's exactly what you're gonna get, damn it! :vince

Just replace Seth's face with Vince's.

God, EVERY mention of Reigns gets people saying they need to turn him heel.

People, it's not going to happen! And in any case, he's NOT EVEN A FACE right now.

He's smug, he states that he doesn't care about the fan reaction. Yeah, he uses some babyface moves during matches, but that's what makes him a tweener. The WWE WANTS the split reaction. They THRIVE on that. Mostly because it has all of US talking about him non-stop.

His de-push is just a bit of punishment for the drug use. Won't be long before he's back up, finishing his feud with Rollins and sniffing around the *cringe Universal Title.

Even though I think a lot of you need to seek therapy for the way you feel about Roman Reigns, I'd say hold off on that because it will be so worth it for me to see how you all react once time out is over and he's back in the main event.

They are a couple years too late on this one. Roman should have been facing Rusev instead of Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania in the main event a couple years ago. Instead they shoved him down everyone's throats and made his shortcoming as a top guy very obvious. This might work, it might not. I just hope they learned their lesson with this and realize the fans just don't feel like putting up with it anymore.
