It's mind blowing that there's still people in 2024 who believe Roman Reigns is terrible in the mic when he just gave us 4 years worth of excellence work in the department . Since turning heel Roman hasn't just been OK or Good in the mic he has been besides this awkward moment where he called Rollins a crossdresser nearly flawless .

He has easily been among the most consistent talker in the business ( which tbf it's helped by the fact he is afforded way more time in the mic than your average performer ) he went to toe with the best on the stick ( Cena , Edge , Owens , Rhodes , La Knight ) often getting the better of them in exchange and coming with excellent roast ( Cena is so stale he is like doing missionary position every single nights , LA Knight cosplay a ******* version of my cousin ect ) .

He has dozens of memorable stand alone promo ( the Fall in Line Promo to Hey Uso , the WrestleMania 37 go home showroom to Edge and DB , The WrestleMania 38 Go Home show promo face to face to Lesnar , the buildup of WrestleMania 39 where he cut banger promo after banger promo and even did an incredible imitation of Dusty, his verbal exchanges with Drew and Kevin Owens in 2020 , the short promo he did during the Samy Zayn trial before screaming SOLOOOOO )

Some of his lines during promos became best selling T shirts others became viral memes instantly his promos have are box office and draw eyes and money

And then there's the most impressive part about Roman Reigns promo skills while he have vastly improve with a mic in his hands but his ability to cut promos on the fly without a mic sometimes mid match is just MESMERIZING

I always been a fan of Roman even during his over scripted , cringe days as babyface but the tired of being humble promo he cut after MIZ TV hit me different that was a generational moment from a generational talent .

To argue that Roman Reigns isn't a good promo when 90 % of his great moments since becoming the Tribal Chief came during promos, when almost every great segment from the Bloodline storyline the storyline which was the catalyst for WWE current boom periods involve Roman Reigns cutting a world class promo at some point in a segment is CRAZY and factually WRONG so FUCKING WRONG

It's like missionary is actually a classic.

He's not bad on the mic at all. You see how much he's grown when you do go back as well.

There was one moment in the Cody feud recently where both him and Cody felt a bit flat, but otherwise, working on his time with the freedom he's allowed has let him bring up the level more than a few notches.

Yeah and your username suggests that you're the type of supermark who isn't posting this thread to discuss. Your intention is to browbeat with your narrative and/or convince yourself of it through the support of others.

If you think Reigns is good, that's your right. Treating us to this word salad is just another supermark thread, as if there aren't a trillion supermark threads already.

Until another Reigns supermark makes a point that he's responsible for 10,000 fan RAW house show gate that he didn't even attend. Since Reigns, a SD talent, was WWE champion though they'll give him credit cause idiot logic

WTF is even the point of your post ???
If you don’t want to read a opinionated post about Roman Reigns or any others famous wrestlers ( Cody , Rhea Ripley whoever ) just abstain yourself from opening thread about them very simple
I never understood guys like you who would react to someone sharing something by saying I don’t care about what you share if you don’t care don’t react end of story

Pretty sure 85% of his screen time during those 4 years consisted of entrances that made The Undertaker look spry, and smoldering into the hard-cam while Heyman publicly fellated him as he pointed his finger up in the air..

"Acknowledge me.."

Tells you everything you need to know when a career midcarder like Sami Zayn's involvement got people to actually give a shit for a couple months. Brock had to literally flip the ring with a goddamned tractor to heat up this wank pheasant.

Thank god he's related to The Rock because without him he would have been colder than that Philly crowd on night 1 going into Mania.

The fact that they put Heyman with him is all you need to know about his promo ability. SUFFERIN SUCCOTASH!!!!!!!

I think, as with most things, there is a middle ground between heaven and hell which is where he really belongs. Since the heel turn he's infinitely more natural a talker, has held his own with everyone he's gone face to face with, and has had the occasional really good promo. To pretend he's regularly cut world-class promos is going to the other extreme though.

His promos are still generally garbage. Going from a 0/10 in 2014 to a 1/10 in 2017 to a 4/10 in 2024 isn’t anything good. He’s trash, he’s just not a good promo. Throwing out a couple decent one liners here and there or some decent trash talking during a match doesn’t change that.

Over his four year reign he’s got like 3 or 4 promos that were at the level of being good. His best was the one the audience couldn’t hear because he didn’t have a mic. Dozens of bad ones though.

He isn't terrible at promos but he is certainly mid AT BEST especially for a supposed 'all-timer'. Part of the problem is that his promos all sound the same - 'acknowledge me' then trash his opponent with one liners and claim that they aren't on his level. If you've heard one promo of his you've hear 'em all. There isn't enough range in his promos.

He’s a great promo. I’d give him an 8/10 there. He’s not Rock or Austin in that regard, but he’s shown he can hold his own standing in the ring with the better promos in the business like Cena (2021), Cody, Rock, etc.

He’s not a wordsmith, but the energy, cadence, choice of words/tone of voice for who his character is supposed to be is there. He says the things that he should say, does so well and it registers with all the fans.

He definitely has a much higher comfort level as a heel. With that being said, he basically went from a guy who should never cut a promo for years as a face…yet was run out there every single week… to a guy who is now competent.

He was surrounded by god tier Promo Paul Heyman, and very good promo guys like Zayn & Jey. He’s average across the board in everything he does. He would have been a good Baron Corbin level midcard heel. But instead he was shoved down everyone’s throats unsuccessfully for years…but with smoke and mirrors and a heel turn, he’s suddenly a GOAT?

This is pretty much almost verbatim to my thoughts.

Roman went from a nervous wreck of a promo as a babyface (for years no less)…to a boss level heel who was given the lead in one of the most dominant factions of all times; was bestowed an aura the size of a frigging continent with Paul Heyman, The Usos and everybody else bowing to his feet like mere disciples, and not withstanding Heyman himself doing a lot of the mic work (and truly excellent mic work) over the brunt of the four years. Everybody from the commentators to the staff to the other talents treated him like an omnipotent being.

I’d merely say he was a decent promo…to put him up with there with other excellent - not GOD TIER - but excellent promo cutters is asinine. Give him something different to fall back on - like actually being a lone soldier and not having other talents to support you - then we’ll see if he can continue the good work.

I’m not offended I’m just wondering your point if you think my opinion
If you're going to get emotional then forum discussions aren't for you. It's just gonna cause you stress. Perhaps you need to work for AEW/WWE. They hire PMS fueled talent all the time

Edit: It isn't my intent to offend you. You have a right to your opinion. However, people can, will and should question those opinions. Sometimes an opinion you have can be really terrible and it helps when others give criticism to it.
You didn’t give criticism constructive to my opinion you question why I post it and again my answer is the same

I’m not offended I’m perplexed. If you disagree with MY opinion say it in these words , if you agree say it , if you don’t care don’t react and just ignore the thread what you did fall in between you react to sort of say you don’t care then talk about others Roman Reigns thread not related to MY opinion at all and question me rather than the actual opinion

You have to be lying if you think he hasn't improved on mic skills I mean he went from Jack and Beanstalk and Suffering Succotash to actually believable promos
Lots of wrestlers were never strongest on mic (Batista, Goldberg, Brock Lesnar,Jeff Hardy) but they were still very popular.
I would still put Reigns above those guys in terms of mic skill . Not everyone is suited for 15 min monologue like Rock , Triple H or John Cena , Reigns made it work with fewer words and Heyman was there perfect match for him

Ages of being drizzling shits = even a hint of mediocrity here and there is seen as exellence. Also he rarely tries to sell the match to the audience, you know the whole point why promo is called promo, which means that as a promo worker he still has some problems to solve. As a mic worker he has improved from his babyface days but as a promo worker not that much.
