You can’t switch names and have people forget about their backstory when they’ve been on one of your brands for years.

Husky Harris? Michael Mcgillicutty? Stardust? You can switch name, and wrestlers does it every now and then. Especially when they want you to forget that other name ever existed.
I don´t have much knowledge about her, but if she used the Name Piper Niven before she signed with WWE, it´s not unlikely they want to call her something they can trademark.

Seems like they already got to that point. Hopefully they string it out a bit more in the coming weeks.

Long term I really hope the name is abandoned! Liked the way it was presented tonight though as @Southerner said they at least managed to present it in a smart way.

I think people shitting on the name and really shitting on Piper because she beat Naomi(which honestly feel like bullshit to me since how are new people meant to be taken serious if they can't beat superstars like Naomi) that they rushed it to this point.

I've been a fan of Piper Niven's for quite a while, and yes, she is funny at times. Her reaction to winning the match on RAW, for example, was funny. I was talking about people that are literally just laughing AT her because of her weight. As you know.
