Randy Orton was a recent guest on The Edge & Christian podcast and discussed a variety of topics. During the interview, he explained why he credits Christian for helping his career.

“If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be here, That run in 2011 really helped me out in many aspects. Confidence in the ring, everything. Even that period, that late in my career, I still didn’t have the most confidence. I’d be down on myself sometimes. You guys were always good about talking me up.

I appreciate everything you guys have done for me, especially Jay in 2011. You still taught me that, even though I had been in the business so long, that we could slow it down even further. Even though I was putting the majority of the matches together, I was learning from you in those ways, and what we put together here could get a better reaction.”

These two had chemistry out of this world,I wouldn't be mad if I say it was so close to Austin and Rock if not the same level.

I'm glad they respect each other like that.

Remember all the crying and bitching on the Internet when Orton took the title off Christian 2 days after he won it. The move turned out to be a masterpiece and laid the foundation for one of the greatest rivalries of this decade. These two were brilliant and made Smackdown better than Raw during that time.

Greatest feud in Orton's career and by far the best in Christian's career. Wow amazing Orton said he called the matches I wish he could have those calibar of matches more consistently in his career. He never returned to the level of chemistry intensity and timing he had in the ring with Christian in their 2011 matches. Even Seth Rollins couldn't get the calibar of matches out of Orton that Christian.

It would of been nice to see Christian having more main events in his career at least on Smackdown because when given time he's great. Christian's problem is he's not handsome or buff he does not have a star look not close. That always plays a factor with Vince. Still, I think absolutely Christian deserves to be in the hall of fame. The goat tag team ever e&c, the classic tlc matches, the battle of the sexes angle with jericho and trish, the classic wrestlemania 20 match, one of the greatest series of matches ever with Orton and also top ten in most ppvs wrestled not including dark match or preshow. Christian should be a lock for hall of fame Vince is just being a bitch.

they transcribed it wrong. orton gives christian credit in the interview for coming up with 90% of the matches. christian in my opinion could be the most underrated worker of all time. never had a bad match, and was fantastic with the psychology whether he was wrestling as a heel or face... and he never got any of those bullshit tweener reactions, meaning he did what a wrestler is supposed to do(at least in my eyes). the fact that orton is a sure thing hall of famer, and christian is likely borderline, is a joke to me. but yea, their feud was phenomenal. none of their matches were spot fests, but they were all classics. one of the best wrestled wwe feuds ever.

I dont really agree with Orton taking the title off Christian so quickly.

Christian deserved a good run. But, kudos to Randy for putting over Christian in the podcast. That still doesnt change the fact that Orton didnt need the title at the time, and should have put Christian over (I'm sure it isnt his fault, probably Creative's or Vince's).

Are people really calling this garbage ass excuse of a rivalry underrated? The writing was terrible and the booking was inexcusable. Christian got fucked over but yet we're supposed to boo him? When Christian finally does win the title back, he wins it back a month too late and he doesn't even pin Orton at all, he wins it by DQ and then loses it right back to Orton the following month. Fuck that feud and playing it in WWE 2K15 made me hate it even more.

Randy Orton/Christian was probably one of my favourite feuds of the year, the two had constantly good matches. While I was initially upset about Christian's 1 day title reign, looking back on it, I guess it worked out well enough. The two were great. Christian probably gave Orton one of his best matches too. Cannot complain.

Christian and Orton have had friendly twitter exchanges so it's obvious the two respect each other. A real heart felt appreciation from Orton. Good for him.

I just wish that old fart Vince had listened to Randy when he was advocating giving Christian a run. 3 of Vince's favourites in Orton, Batista and Edge (who was probably a bit biased!) all recommended giving Christian a run but Vince had to be a stubborn fool. Absolutely wasted him.
