Next Main Event Heels ?

With the Death Riders angle now at an end, and Mox probably taking a break after All Out there is an open spot or two for some main event heels. We got 4 main event babyfaces that can carry the show in Hangman, Swerve, Ospreay, and Darby but no real main event heels besides MJF (who’s tied up with Mistico and Briscoe) and Okada (Who’s Unified Champion, don’t see him in the world title picture until 2026). So who do you see stepping up in that role. I see the following candidates:

1. Jay White - Now seems like the perfect time for him to come back and turn heel along with BCG. Have him reignite his feud with Hangman along with fresh feuds against Ospreay, Darby, and Swerve. Can easily be the #1 or #2 heel now that the title picture is less cluttered.

2. Wardlow - Another guy that’s on the brink of return, have him be your main event powerhouse mad that everyone forgot about him and casted him to the side. Big guy that can work and matches against the big 4 would seem fun

3. Takeshita - Could be slotted there too only issue is it seems he’s headed for a face turn against Okada so I’m not sure how much longer he has as a heel.

4. Bobby Lashley - Again, could be the mean powerhouse in the main event scene, would be fresh, could reignite his Swerve feud, just don’t know how it work with Lashley and MJF both pursing the world title.

5. Eddie Kingston - Could be a convincing heel due to promo and character ability. Him vs Hangman or Swerve would be nuts, just don’t know about his in ring ability as it’s very hit or miss

6. Kyle Fletcher - To me he seems like the next big project heel they’ve been trying to build up. I see a run with the TNT title, following a move up to the world title next year. In fact, if Ospreay wins the world title at All In 2026, I see Fletcher beating him for it by the end of next year.

Who do you guys see stepping into that role ?

Jay White absolutely. He needs to be a top heel as soon as he returns. Fletcher could be elevated faster assuming he doesn't hold the TNT title for long once he beats Dustin.

I'd be on board with a renewed heel Wardlow push if he were to return, but they gotta do it right.

I'd prefer they hold off on The Hurt Syndicate in the main event scene for a while, I want this to be more about MJF getting back to his "Triple B".

Facts on Jay White, I felt as though he couldn’t really occupy that space before just do to the crowdedness of the title picture at the time. He can now for sure actually occupy that space. For me if we had a title picture of

Faces:
Hangman
Swerve
Ospreay
Darby
Joe

Heels:
MJF
White
Wardlow
Mox
Jericho

With Fletcher replacing Jericho next year it would be a good title picture.

Hangman definitely needs a solid heel for his first defence and with it being Forbidden Door, do they vary the title challengers this year so NJPW challenge Hangman whilst AEW challenges ZSJ. If that’s the case then Gabe Kidd, EVIL, David Finlay and Sanada are probably only viable options - none stand out as major as surely Gabe Kidd will be facing someone else.

Jay White could work well as he was great heel in his NjPW days and works for FD show being a guy both companies have featured well. BUT, returning and turning heel then losing, doesn’t sort of help him long term.

Maybe Claudio as Moxs 2nd but again doesn’t scream PPV match. Neither does PAC but being UK and PAC is more part time, would at least be different but depends on when he’s fit again.

Maybe they do a WWE and do Page vs ZSJ but both recently won their belts so doesn’t solve the problem so probably makes it worse.

Jay White is an obvious pick. That is set up perfectly. It'll be kind of a shame though given how happy everyone was to see the rest of the boys back at All In. I do think they're better off as heels though.

I honestly don't think he's going to hold onto it that long before Max takes it off him, so I don't know that he needs that many competitors. I can definitely see Jericho coming back so they can do a callback to Hanger's failure at the original All Out. Ugh. Maybe Kenny? That'd be a hell of a heel turn, and you know he's going to want to work with his boys.

After that breathtaking combat versus Kenny Omega on All In: Texas, Okada takeovers his role as "The Rainmaker" redeeming as the Premier Villain that once he was on NJPW. Undoubtfully, to be revolutioned Don Callis's Family as the main stone of the faction... And to be taken it to the glory.
