may·hem [mey-hem, mey-uhm]
Has anyone seen the Allstate commercials with Dean Winters playing "Mayhem"? He says it correctly. "Mayham" is not a word, and everyone who says that is just saying it incorrectly. Why would someone care? Because who likes to speak incorrectly? Why would someone, when given the correct information, CHOOSE to do something incorrectly anyway? That's pretty ridiculous. When someone tells me I am saying or using a word incorrectly, I use that knowledge to better myself, by, oh, I don't know, fixing the issue and saying/using the word correctly. Where did these people, including the people on this thread, ever learn to say it that way? I have never heard anyone say "mayham" until recently on Impact. First it was Jeff Hardy, then Mike Tenay AND Taz. But others in TNA say it correctly, so at least as a company, they have the knowledge. Now people can go ahead and get pissy that someone is even talking about it, but I am definitely not going to feel sorry for not choosing to act like an idiot.
