Do you guys ever find you get “bored” of doing artwork?

I honestly do enjoy it as a hobby and I have a few binders full of stuff plus other random art like a poster I did for work and I’ve been told I should be in a career that involves drawing like comic books for example but there is a reason I never pursued it and people who don’t draw as a hobby don’t seem to understand…..yea, I like to draw in my spare time, BUT I can go through like let’s say a week, for example, of doing art but then I’m so tired of it and do not feel motivated to do it for a long time.

I had this issue with work in which every year, they wanted me to create posters for different things so I’d get a timeline for it to be done and many times I was peeved cuz I just wasn’t in the mood to draw. I couldn’t ever do it daily so that’s why a related career is something I had no interest in doing.

I have to just feel like drawing, I can’t do it cuz someone else wants me to.

I want to do more, but I find I'm drained most of the time. I've been keeping up on my reading this year, but not my art. I have been feeling a bit more inspiration the last couple of weeks! I've been trying to learn more about digital art, because I've been solely traditional methods.

My nephew has gotten into art and he's pretty good. My dad also got into art when he retired and he's also pretty good. With my nephew, my dad has always been like, "You should enter that in a competition. You should try to get paid for art." I explained to them that art doesn't always work like that. Sometimes, you do it for you and you make things you want to make based on how you're feeling that day or by something that inspires you. I love that we collaborated on a three-generation piece of their dog.
