Andrade never left AEW on bad terms, which is why he's back so soon, he had some issues with Sammy but I guess those were ironed out. I read somewhere that he partially went back to WWE to try and fix his marriage with Charlotte, which obviously didn't work out. Andrade's prior run in AEW was fine, he's great in the ring, he only needed a mouthpiece. Andrade has had a lot of bangers in AEW. He's a great mid-card guy when used to his strengths. He's not back to get a main event push, and this just bolsters the already stacked roster despite him being un-needed. I prefer Andrade over Orange Cassidy, Garcia, or Wheeler Yuta.
In WWE, I was actually surprised they didn't put him back with Zelina Vega, both were floundering anyway. He wrestled Melo for like 10 weeks straight then they threw him in a team with Fenix like they were replacing Penta in the Lucha Bros or something. That's why he failed, not because he's not talented. Don Callis is a good mouthpiece for him, but at some point we need to develop some overarching storytelling with the family. Its more like an army now as said last night.
What does Callis have on all these guys? Is he assembling this army for any kind of purpose? What benefits can we visually see them getting besides winning championships? Because in kayfabe, aligning with Callis does mean you're being elevated if you're one of the members who matter (not Archer or Romero obviously). Okada, Omega, Takeshita, Fletcher, and Ospreay all elevated through being with the heat magnet Callis, Hechicero gets a lot more TV time too, and they have all mostly found kayfabe success, so Callis is actually a manager who does his job, its just that we need more segments to show the family dynamics. Wardlow definitely would have been in a better spot if he didn't injure himself again. I can see the same happening with Andrade, just in the mid-card. Takeshita will be leaving the group soon anyway.
