Just saw AEW Origins #1 from DC Comics. As the name implies it cover the origins [Kayfabed. With the usual comic embellishments] of AEW wrestlers. There's some embellishment to make them coexist longside the DC characters. Swerve too hardcore for the Army. Ospreay doing the Batman touring the world and training under different Martial Arts Masters [obviously to reference his NJPW days]. Orange Cassidy is essentially Dr. Fate [just substitute The Helmet for the Sunglasses.] Darby Allen is a Heroic Two Face. And then there's Toni Storm and Britt Baker. Toni ofcourse grew up watching the classic tv shows. And Britt Baker had two paths. Their Hero parallels are a little more vague.
The artwork is decent, but janky in some [in Ospreay's splash page it looked like his face was smashed in. Dude doesn't seem to have a nose. And and I'm not sure if Britt just had a stroke on hers. Plus its funny seeing them with Superhero physiques when you already know what they look like.]
A special note of interest in this series. Sting now has the distinction of being BOTH a Marvel and DC character. Marvel did a short lived WCW comic back in the early 90s.
