What a pussy Russo is. He said for years "I have no problem with Jim Cornette, bro" and secretly he was trying to get him taken off TV.

I dont care if you're a big TNA fan, you MUST admit these last 2 weeks have been a horrible one. The company is just getting ripped from every angle. Lawsuits, leaked e-mails, employees embarrassing them by going off on twitter.

That's why I wanted wwe to put Eva Marie as GM or secretary.
Sexy female as gm is good idea as for me. Especially it could have been fun in tv 14 TNA.

This is a prime example why I hate Russo. Theres a reason people hate you, especially Jim Cornette. Im just hoping for another Cornette rant about this now lol.

To be fair I mostly agree with Russo's points.

Okay for me personally, I could do without the "attractive, sexy, female authority figure" - who, FWIW rather than the obvious Dixie Carter - I wouldn't be surprised if Russo had someone like Traci Brooks in mind to play that role when he's pitching that there (the email's from 2006, it wasn't until 3 years later that Dixie first appeared on TV, I believe).

I absolutely agree that in 2006 they should have tried to distinquish their brand as hip and cutting edge. Something they obviously failed to do and something which in the current wrestling scene Lucha Underground, for example, has done brilliantly.

I also agree that Kurt (who had just debuted), Joe & LAX (who were both red hot) and characters like Truth and Hoyt (who had a big upside I felt) should have been guys built around.

Jarrett at that time desperately needed to be taken off TV, which in fairness he was and Cornette as generic TNA authority figure I could take or leave tbh. Jim Cornette doing a shoot interview has always been 10x more entertaining to me than Cornette as lame duck TNA authority figure #786 .

Taryn was overboard because how could you believe that anyone would put her in charge of anything with the way she talked and acted. GMs in general are overused whether a man or woman so unless they have/had a dynamic personality it's just feels like every other GM ever.

BTW, where did they get that e-mail?

For me, Russo is not really "right" like a lot of you are saying. He has a far too narrow minded view of what wrestling "should be". I agree with SOME of his ideas, but that doesn't mean that anything that doesn't go along with what he thinks is horrible and won't work. In fact I think the man has proven that he is completely one dimensional and that is part of why he failed miserably in WCW.

Not everyone likes the exact same things that he likes, yet the man seems to FAIL to realize that. Cornette's the exact same way, albeit from about the completely opposite side of the fence. But same mentality, they think only their views of what works in wrestling is good and everything else isn't.

But let's face it TNA was a southern wrestling company. Yes it was on TV, but still based in the south. Southern fans like Jim Cornette. Dude can work the mic, was a legend manager. No reason NOT to try and use him in some capacity. Just because he was "too southern"? LOL give me a break. Absurd, narrow minded viewpiont.
