“In 2010, WWE achieved record operating performance, generating the highest level of reported EBITDA in the Company’s history despite a challenging environment, particularly over the latter part of the year.

In 2010 World Wrestling Entertainment Inc had Revenue(Sales) of $477.665 million, and Net Income/Profit of $53,452 million.
That's up from 2009,which the company did Revenue of $475.161 million and $50,303 million of Net income.

That makes 2010 WWE's 2nd best year in its history, only 2007's $485.7 million in Revenue, and (excluding ''The Condermned'' write-down) an $62.3 million profit did better.

Seems like they are doing fine. The PPV decline isn't really effecting them.

The things you have to consider are the profits from moving to Smackdown to SyFy, broadcasting rights for the extra shows put out last year such as NXT/Superstars and the fact that most main eventers haven't negotiated for a new contract this year.

Relying on the youth movement means lower initial wages for the new guys. Also the "Special Attraction" at WM wasn't a high end celebrity, it was Bret Hart who wouldn't have demanded as much money as say, Floyd Mayweather.

I agree with this. Also, PPV were more money this year than any other year. So if the PPVs did decline (which they have been for years), the fact people paid more money evens out whatever they lost.

Awesome. No incentive whatsoever to improve their product, always a good thing.

PG is staying children.
Hallelujah!

Very pleasing and encouraging news! I hope this shuts up all the Attitude era clit rubbers who go "ZOMG PG SUCKZ WANT MORE BLOOD SEX N FILTH LOLLLZ~!"
TBH I think PG WWE should at least give us blood in No DQ matches such as cage, hell in a cell, ladder, extreme rules etc.

Also the word ass once in a while won't kill will it? The corny lines Cena delivers in place of "I'm gonna kick your ass" are just fpalm worthy.

Somebody bleeding in the main event at least ONCE every 2 or 3 months won't harm anyone, right?

They've been desperate far too much and are really a passing fad. There are MUCH more to those numbers than what's presented in that little clipping. They can't even sell out houseshows or Raws.

Like I said WWE can stay in this direction for good they have no reason to ever really move away from it, because the only way they would is if they lost money like they did in the mid 1990's which I don't think is ever going to happen. It is getting to the point were you will have to accept what WWE puts out there today or just stop watching.

It may have been their second most profitable year but their Q4 net income is down 28% from last years. 2010's revenue was $477.7 million compared to last years $475.2 million so not a huge step up. Net income for 2010 was $53.5 million compared to 2009's $50.3 million. So as of right now PG is very profitable for the company, there is no need for change.

The Q4 report is very interesting. Personally this is when I was disillusioned with WWE as creatively it felt fairly stagnant compared to the same tome last year which I felt was very good from a creative point.

I'm more irritated about the film division making profit than the WWE product itself doing so. WWE intentionally puts out movies with no intention whatsoever of ever taking any pride in what it takes to create a film that at the very least is minimally acceptable.

Then again, their movies do make for cheap unintentional laughs and easy Razzie nominations.

What is keeping them so profitable is moving into Asia and Latin America, in addition to the licesing deal with Mattel. And really cutting back on costs in ever department, and raising the price of most products. PG is a huge success financially and a necessity to succeed in many Asian territories.

Everything else is down again:
- Magazine, DVD and video game sales
- PPV buyrates are really low in the US
- Live event attendance and merchandise sales
- The website and WWEShop

a large majority of it comes from their merch sales. Bitch about PG all you want the Merch is selling hot and fast to them kids. Mattel is a major sponsor and them figures sell in huge numbers. PPV buys dont contribute much these days but the cost of one PPV x the 100,000 buys on average they get for a PPV gets a few million in and they do one every 3 weeks so they make a couple million off of PPV still.
