After Kane captures the WWF Title in the First Blood Match, and finally ending Austin's run as Champion, the next night on RAW, Stone Cold gets his rematch, and regains the championship. Only 24 hours after capturing the Title, Kane looses.
Now to me this completely bury's Kane!
Not only does he have one of the shortest title rains in history, but he's beaten in a reasonably quick match and after 1 Stunner! Yes just 1. This was the same monster that went down to 3 Tombstone's at Mania that year at the hands of the Undertaker! He was built up as a monster, an Unstoppable dominant force over an 8 month period, then for it to be all undone in the space of 1 night was poor booking and handling of an Awesome character. He should of held it for at least a month IMO. I never looked at the Big Red Machine in the same way again after this.
Do you think that Austin would only drop the belt if he would be entitled to take it back straight away? Knowing he needed to make the most of his Title run at his peak, especially with his injury's that later proved to catch up with him. Maybe I'm looking at it in the wrong way though.
I wanted to get other people's opinions on this, to see if they felt the same?
