Re: WWE Extreme Rules Discussion Thread
Fun show all around. Taker looked solid, loved the throwback tank-top, reminded me of his Ministry days. Felt like putting that match on first was something of a response to the criticisms of "Taker's taking someone else's main event spot" and "Shane's pushed too hard." It was kinda like, 'We'll get this match out of the way first', you know?
Kinda hoped that Drew would've laid out Taker with a Claymore when Taker was doing his in-ring pose at the end to set up a match at Summerslam.
Joe/Kofi was okay, nothing too special. Joe deserves better than just being a 'warm body' for Kofi to go over on and pad his title reign.
Surprised at the IC Title change on the pre-show. It was one of those situations where you want both guys to win. Glad to see Nakamura being rebuilt, but I just wonder where Balor goes next.
Styles winning the US Title was the right move, the babyface chasing the heel is a better dynamic. I'm not a fan of Ricochet, but he'll definitely be a made man if he beats Styles at Summerslam to regain the gold.
The Revival beating the Usos clean as a whistle was a pleasant surprise. Sometimes heels need to grab a clean win here and there for legitimacy purposes.
New Day taking the Smackdown gold is fine, I guess. Just feels like a "been there, seen there" thing.
The main event was fun chaos. That cameraman who zoomed in on Lacey's ass deserves a raise. Lesnar cashing in was gonna polarize people for sure. I'm surprised Brock didn't cash in on Kofi at a later date in time for Smackdown's move to FOX.
The highlight of the night for me was Black vs Cesaro. That entire 10-minute match looked like it hurt like hell. Imagine the absolute classic they could pull off if they were given another 10 minutes.
