Re: Was WrestleMania 35 overall better than 34?

I would say probably not. 34 through let's say the Bludgeon Brothers-Usos match was on par to be as good a Wrestlemania as we had ever seen. It fell apart hard after that, way harder than this years, but I still think the first half was strong enough to carry it past this years show which started strong with probably a better pre-show, 3 good bouts to open, and then really just turned to crap save for the Bryan-Kofi match.

They both suck significantly overall, let's not split hairs, but even if this one never fell as far for as sustained a stretch as last years did, it had less sustained good stuff too. That said, it also probably had fewer major disappointments, right? The main event was underwhelming, but we got the result. Last year seeing them screw up Bryan's comeback, AJ-Nakamura, Undertaker-Cena (to be fair that was probably the best we could have hoped for from those two at this stage) and then the complete joke that was the main event... Pathetic. Hmm... This really is a tough choice

Re: Was WrestleMania 35 overall better than 34?

It was about the same, but the crowd was worse in 35. Other than the Kofi match, the crowd for 35 didn't really seem into the event. Say what you will about the crowd in 34, especially during the main event, but at least they attempted to make noise.

Overall, I think the apathy in this forum for 35 was somewhat reflected by the crowds. They were interested in the Kofi-Bryan match, like people in here were, but everything else they didn't really care about. And like people in here, they had lost most of their interest in the main event probably before even Mania.

Re: Was WrestleMania 35 overall better than 34?

35 was better than 34. Probably the best match at Mania in years in Bryan/Kofi. Brock lost and Roman was a nonfactor = two more pluses. SD tag was a very good match too. Miz/Shane was fun. Last year the good matches were the opening IC title, Mixed Tag and Charlotte/Asuka (even if the wrong person won). Bryan's return was a good moment too. The ME was an awful spamfest between 2 guys essentially no one wanted to see let alone them together in the ME. This year we get someone in the ME that nearly everyone wanted to be there and she won.

Yeah it was, at least we got a full time champ on RAW again.

WM 35 was better than WM 34 but that's not saying much

Best Mania since 30 but we haven't had a great main event since WM31, but at least we got a big Becky win to close out the show.

Last year only had two matches I enjoyed, Ronda/Angle v HHH/Steph and Taker/Cena.

I thought it was better. The build kinda sucked for most of it. But as far as comparing WM34 and WM35 - 35 was the better show.

XXXIV isn't even close to the worst of all time. II, IX, XI, XXVII, XXIX, and XXXII are all easily worse. I would, agree, however, that it's definitely in the bottom ten.

I'd argue that 31 was a stronger overall show, but I think it's close. For the last ten WrestleManias, I have:

30
31
28
35
26
33
34
29
27
32

Re: Was WrestleMania 35 overall better than 34?

The build was much worse. Thank their lucky stars they had Kofimania fall into their laps because if it didn't this may have gone down as the worst built of all time. It's already in that conversation.

At Mania 35 there was only one real notable standout match (you all know which one it is). At 34 you had three very strong ones (Miz/Rollins/Balor, Asuka/Charlotte, and the mixed tag).

However, Mania 35 was much better booked, which is what really matters at the end of the day. So yes.

Re: Was WrestleMania 35 overall better than 34?

Probably on par actually.

Wretlemania 35 had more better feel good moments and overall more better matches. Wrestlemania 34 was really just a PPV of two halves, with the first half being good and the second half being pretty boring.
