I'm intrigued for Roman/Brock for the possible fuckery alone. Muz/Bryan has a great story going in, but we'll have to see how that translates into a match. Joe/AJ should be good, but the build up hasn't been the best and it'll never live up to the TNA classics. Plus these matches have a tendency of disappointing in WWE. Hope it's still good tho and for Joe to win, but I'm expecting AJ to retain.

As far as match quality, I think it'll be a great PPV. As far as results, I think it would suck ass.

Re: WWE Summerslam 2018 Discussion Thread

It's not a TERRIBLE card, but it definitely doesn't feel like a Big 4 to me. There's just something missing this year. The whole build-up has been very lacklustre. It doesn't help that the Universal Title match has happened way too many times already. Only thing keeping that interesting is a potential cash-in.

I think it'll be a decent show overall. You have some nice matches like Joe/AJ, Rollins/Ziggler, Miz/Bryan. It just depends on if they show up or not. This is a very result dependent show, and could really affect my post-ppv thoughts depending on how some of these go.

Re: WWE SummerSlam 2018 Discussion Thread

Honestly the problem isn't the card but the lackluster build towards it (it isn't even a bad build if this was for a ppv like backlash or extreme rules but the problem is it's freaking summerslam)

The card though some question marks are attached (I never even liked the first Brock vs Roman match so god help me for match number 4 only reason I'll watch that for is praying for a cash in but I'm already prepared to be disappointed ) actually looks like it can be pretty good match quality wise at least.

Finn vs Corbin was a perfectly serviceable match at extreme rules and I expect similar here.

Drew vs Cedric should be pretty fantastic as although Cedric is boring outside the ring inside he's still amazing to watch inside it and Gulak is just the best really pulling for a Gulak win here.

New Day vs BB could be a great matchup if they don't go too hard on the domination of BB

Bryan vs Miz has the best build so far and also with Miz's heavy improvements in ring should actually be a great match to go with that build I hope.

Hardy vs Nakamura is one of those question marks just cause I don't really get how this makes sense in the context of the story but we'll see how it goes could be a solid match.

women's triple threat not expecting a great match here as Carmella will likely be central to it so mostly just hoping for a Becky win.

Dolph Ziggler vs Seth Rollins should hopefully be great as I feel the horrid structure of that iron man match really screwed them over last time around as the actual wrestling between them didn't seem too bad. Hoping for something good here to make up for it.

Strowman vs Owens has actually honestly been booked as it should be apart from the part where Strowman really should have moved on ages ago but for the fact it's continued they've at least done so logically. Probably not an amazing match but might be fun for a bit at least.

Rousey vs Bliss Will this be another match where I don't care till it actually happens and end up shocking me from Ronda? perhaps as one half is certainly true I just don't know if that form from Ronda will continue.

Styles vs Joe man this should feel so much bigger than it does. I would hope Joe wins but I doubt it at best he might win in a rematch at HIAC instead which I guess wouldn't be too bad with the big lack of top faces smackdown has.

And there's the Brock Roman match I already made my feelings on clear

Sorry for the longwinded post but yeah overall this might at least be a solid show from a pure wrestling standpoint though will probably be blown out the water by NXT.

Re: WWE SummerSlam 2018 Discussion Thread

To be fair - I'll probably tune in for this.

Heymans recent antics have got me interested in what he could do at Summerslam. Though the company have tomorrows Raw to ruin that for me. Hopefully they can build on it and give us every reason to doubt Heyman and Brock going into the event.

Samoe Joe deserves the title - I'd LOVE to think he could win and that is enough for me to get excited for that one and the Strowman/Owens stipulation has me wondering what they could do. In typical WWE fashion, I could see them having Owens do something to get Strowman DQ'd and take the briefcase from him, though I could also see Strowman winning a great battle and then hopefully being paraded by Heyman.

I don't care about the rest.

Re: WWE SummerSlam 2018 Discussion Thread

It's gonna be a long ass show. There's potential to have a lot of good things on this show. But it's gonna be a long ass show.

Looking forward to Bryan vs. Miz, AJ vs. Joe, Becky challenging for the title, a certain Lunatic potentially returning to help Seth, Ronda possibly winning her first title, and a few other sleeper hits like Alexander vs. Gulak and Hardy vs. Nakamura.

A lot of "possibly" and "potentially" in there you might notice. How many of those things actually happen will determine the success of this show, at least to me.

Re: WWE SummerSlam 2018 Discussion Thread

It's really sad when it looks like the cruiserweight title match will be the best match on the card. Miz vs. Bryan is the only other one that has any sizzle.

One thing is certain - TakeOver is going to shit all over this.
