It was a while ago (2017) but my point is, it's not a fresh matchup. There are TONS of matches they can do they haven't done before. If they just put the effort into building different people up, we wouldn't have to see the same matches every 2-3 years. My point was, we saw this HW stuff in 2016, 2017. And in 2019, despite more people in the women's division, we're back at it again.
I get your point, but I cannot agree on being so critical about it. In season 2018 to 2019 we saw Becky + Sasha fighting 100 times the Riott Squad, one week after another. About other repeating stuff, like K-O having trouble with Shane and getting fired, I don`t even start.
They lifted some people and build them up. After Asuka (end of 2017) we had Ruby, Sarah Logan, Morgan, Mandy, Sonya, Ember Moon, Lacey Evans, Nikki and Kairi. (In theory you can count Zelina as well, but no discussion if she counts or not, please.)
The Riott Squad was very often on TV, but they overused them in the end. WWE, I give you that, tends to stick with stuff with worked once more or less. Mandy and Sonya are on TV pretty often, same to Ember Moon. Lacey Evans and Nikki got a good push. So far, Kairi . being the newest one - had the least until now.
The problem with the matchups is the heel/face thing and the roster split. Ironically the wildcard thing didn`t help, because we just saw the same people twice a week. Another problem is the lack of time in SD for women matches, like I said often before.
Also some matchups nobody wants to see, because one side lacks kayfabe credibility as wrestler. Remember the SummerSlam situation with the qualification matchup the people booed down. There was just no other reasonable wrestlers left on RAW, Becky could fight. Other people already had a feud with her this year or were injured or other reasons. Or remember how people went nuts about Dana Brooke being in the MITB match.
Too much text already ...
So yeah, Bayley, Becky, Charlotte and Sasha had some matchups in the very past, but obvisouly people (including me) wanted to see it.
