Right now I'm going to assume she isn't needed for anything, but if she's not part of the February tapings, I'm going to assume WWE doesn't have much interest in pushing her anymore. Because her only logical feuds are with Shayna and Ember right now.

That being said, they added another set of tapings for early March back at Full Sail. Originally they weren't supposed to go back until April, but someone in NXT probably pointed out it wasn't a great idea to lock down your entire New Orleans Takeover card in February.

Ideally Kairi will be in the title hunt at Takeover: New Orleans, but once Candice LaRae actually debuts on the main NXT roster (instead of dark matches and house shows), all bets are off, because anyone who is a babyface not named Candice LaRae will get booed/no reaction if they are in the Women's Title hunt.

For what its worth, the general thing I've heard about the latest set of tapings in terms of Women's Wrestling is that its basically a bunch of students/new talents getting their chops, and that the quality of the wrestling was incredibly low at best.

PS: Maybe @Mordecay can confirm this, but I don't think the Iconic Duo has been utilized at all lately either. And I don't think they are getting called up at the Rumble. Probably a one off appearance. You don't see too many NXT callups on the Road to Wrestlemania.
We get it you like Candace, I like her too, but isn’t it a bit extreme to say that the crowd will literally not care about any other babyface once she debuts? We don’t know how the crowd will react to her yet, chill it down a bit.

Oh, I don't care for Candice either way, but the problem is that Full Sail will literally boo anyone who isn't Candice (and Full Sail generally sets the bar for whoever gets cheered/booed/any reaction). This has been proven time and time again. Last Battle Royal she was part of, anyone who wasn't her got nuclear heat whenever Candice was about to be eliminated. That includes babyfaces.

Re: The Pirate Princess: Kairi Sane Thread

I guess we were all wrong, she seems to be injured after all

Well, she seems to be injury prone, which will hurt her chances to get a big push

Wow, that's unfortunate. I think labelling her as injury prone is a bit hasty though.

Hiroshi Tanahashi/Kazuchika Okada/Minoru Suzuki/Daniel Bryan/Asuka

Samoa Joe/Tetsuya Naito/Tomohiro Ishii/Meiko Satomura

Re: The Pirate Princess: Kairi Sane Thread

She does have a little history but I wouldn't call her injury prone. Hopefully it's nothing.

Re: The Pirate Princess: Kairi Sane Thread

I mean, I haven't followed her Stardom career all that much, but didn't she have neck issues a couple of times there? Then she got a concussion in the MYC and now she is banged up again. Either she is injury prone or she has the worst luck, which is a shame since I like her a lot.

Depends on how WWE sees it.

Strange because a lot of her tweet make me think that she will be in the Rumble

Re: The Pirate Princess: Kairi Sane Thread

Banged up =/= injured, for what its worth. She could just be feeling incredibly sore or tender. Before WarGames, she worked a pretty hard NXT schedule. Every single house show she could (it's not exactly a secret that she absolutely loves interacting with her fans, and these house shows are a good way to achieve her goal on that front). She also went all out in most of them, and its something she needs to learn to rope in. If I were her, I would talk to WWE about not having to do the elbow drop every match, and talk about bringing back the Ikari (her submission move) as a secondary finisher for most house show matches.

I don't think it'll affect her push or anything of the sort at the end of the day though. And Rovert touched upon it, and said that a LOT of the NXT roster is banged up at the moment. Its just the holidays masked a lot of it. So it's not shocking WWE is giving time off to some of their big names so that they can heal up. NXT is less rough than the main roster (schedule wise), so its easier to get away with. And as long as Kairi doesn't need surgeries, she'll be fine. Also, if WWE was cooling off on her, they wouldn't put her in the NXT Future Star category, or promote her so heavily in their video packages still.

As an aside, WWE got sorta lucky with this entire thing, as Shayna choking her out gave them a ready made storyline for the future. Kairi can come back (after resting) and take the NXT Women's Title from Shayna, assuming Shayna ever wins it.

Oh yeah, and anyone comparing her to Itami is pretty eeh. Kairi's issues are nothing compared to what Itami had to deal with. Remember, Itami had to get surgery on his shoulder pretty early on in his NXT career, came back a year later, then was injured again a few months later, and disappeared again for a year. Kairi is just beat up due to working pretty much every house show she possibly could, and not knowing how to restrain herself.

I don't see WWE depushing her any time soon, especially if Asuka decides to retire eventually. Kairi is WWE's only other meal ticket into Japan, at least in terms of tapping into the joshi market. And I imagine after Kairi is on the main roster, WWE will probably turn their attention (read: sign another joshi) to someone like Mayu, HZK, Hana, etc to hold down the fort in NXT.
