Look, unless someone uses Roman's situation to get cheap heat, there was nothing wrong with what WWE did last night. It was masterful booking given the situation.

As far as Dean's turn goes, here's what I found interesting. When thinking about Dean turning in the past, I was thinking he could play 1 of 2 roles:

1. Cold and Calculated
2. Dangerously Unstable

And it seems like they're going with Option #2. Now I'm gonna try to dig too deep into this so it delves into my own fan fiction. But I've seen some people say "if Dean was just going to turn, why help Seth win the titles?"

Well, because I don't think this was a pre meditated or calculated attack. I just think this, for whatever reason, was Dean's breaking point. He was tired of being the 3rd Wheel. He was tired of being called a Lunatic by his brothers. He was tired of feeling like he was being taken for granted.

And last night, he snapped. He took all of his pent up anger out on Seth. Saying things like:

* "You asked for this!"
* "Are these all you care about!" (referring to the titles)
* "You think that's funny?!" (referring to being called a lunatic

And this was driven home by Seth telling him it's OK after getting laid out. Seth wasn't even mad, like he knew who he was dealing with here. Hoping that he got that out of his system. But clearly, that wasn't enough for Dean.

So in the coming weeks I expect to see a somewhat grief stricken Seth trying to reason with Dean. And Dean himself may not fully be on the dark side yet. But, eventually it will all come crashing down. And with Roman being gone, well Roman was the one guy who seemed like he could play peace maker to Seth and Dean. But now that he's gone, The Shield has imploded.

Got meeting #5 with Dean and as usual, he was the sweetest guy possible :) I gave him the beanie and he said “oh I’ll need this, it’s cold” :lol Then he said it was cold in the stadium, I wonder if that means he’ll be at Mania in some capacity? Wishful thinking I know lol.

I also asked for a hug and he of course gave me one and thanked me for coming all the way for Mania.

I love him so much and damn it hit me how much I’ll miss him :( Love ya Dean <3

This right here is why it took balls for WWE to do what they did. The timing of it means that there will be a select percentage of fans that don't agree with it, but I stand by it being genius. I don't think they could have picked a better week to pull the trigger. What happened to Roman really sucks, but Seth being so off guard & Dean pouncing on him like a predator & after they won the Titles just sells his character so well for the future. They managed to make a Heel turn that has been rumoured & teased for weeks still shocking & unexpected. That's not easy.

I had time to re-watch the full segment last night (not the WWE Youtube version, because it's cut as hell). There were some important things I've noticed.

As @TD Stinger mentioned, it was definitely not a calculated act. Dean didn't know he was going to betray Seth, it was spontaneous, because Seth said something to him during their first hug. Seth was talking a lot actually, and there was one thing that made Dean snap. You could see how conflicted he was after the first Dirty Deeds. It was something Rollins said.

Then the frustration started to rise because of the last few weeks, and since he already pulled the trigger it was too late to stop, so Ambrose proceeded with the beating.

Another thing I wanted to address, is the supposed "hate" WWE gets for pulling the trigger on the same show Roman left because of leukemia. I was listening WOR and Bryan Alvarez complained about how it was bad taste and how he hated it. You know what, he has his fans and I definitely see him influencing a bunch of sheep. When I heard him say all that, I was like fuck off. Bad taste my ass. This was the absolute right time to do it. It wasn't like "Eddie's in hell", or something like that. Dean didn't say "Roman will die" or anything, his actions had nothing to do with Roman for fucks sake. This did not offend anybody, nobody took it personal, it's a storyline on a TV show and a way to get the best reaction possible. Next week, next month, next DAY would've been too late for this reaction. It would've been a regular turn, but this became special because it was on this day. And it always will be remembered as a pivotal moment for the Shield and for Dean Ambrose. There was absolutely NO problem with this. Some people just complain even when they see such greatness, those people probably shouldn't watch anymore, as Tommy Dreamer said.

Just got back from my Mania trip yesterday and needed a little time to decompress before sharing my thoughts.

Back in 2011 I was dragged back into wrestling after CM Punk's famous pipebomb promo. At some point a dirtsheet mentioned that Punk made an appearance at a live FCW show against a developmental talent by the name of Dean Ambrose. I watched the video and was immediately impressed by Ambrose. Who is this guy, and is he really that good to have a match with Punk like that? I went on YouTube to find more footage of him and this was the first promo I saw. Not even close to his best but I was intrigued and ended up being obsessed with finding videos of his matches and promos. Scanned through different sites, skipping through FCW episodes, looking at all his HWA and DGUSA and CZW stuff. I couldn't get enough.

Fast forward a year later to Survivor Series 2012. I'd started to get tired of the product and running out of patience waiting for Ambrose to debut. I gave myself an ultimatum that Survivor Series is the last show I'd watch if things didn't improve. I wasn't impressed with the PPV and had been resigned to stopping my run of watching WWE. I had already been skipping Raws and SmackDowns and thought I wouldn't miss anything. Then at the very end of the PPV, Ambrose appeared with Rollins and Reigns and I marked the hell out. Can't stop now, the fun is just beginning.

I've enjoyed Ambrose's time in WWE, though the most fun by far has been the Shield's original run from the end of 2012 to mid-2014. I'm an '80s kid who remembered Undertaker's debut on Thanksgiving Day 1990. I watched a lot of wrestling since that time and the Shield's chemistry is unlike any I have ever seen since then. I didn't want Ambrose to be tied to a faction but it ended up being the best thing from an entertainment standpoint. I'm sad that it's over, but glad I got to watch all of it.

If Ambrose hadn't kept me around to WWE, I wouldn't have made the friends I made through this forum, I wouldn't have met some of them at this past WrestleMania, I wouldn't have been to ANY of the past four Manias, there's just so many fond memories I have thanks to that man. This wrestling stuff is entertainment, and is a form of escapism. It's gotten me through some rough patches in my life, and Ambrose is who I looked most forward to. I don't like the character he's become as much as when I first started following him, but I support the man in whatever he does because I owe a lot to him, and I'm sure he's meant the same to a lot of other fans like me as well. I'll miss seeing him on WWE television, and I feel privileged to have been there in person for his farewell speech at Raw this past week, in the same building he had his first main roster match. I also got to hear the full Special Op theme with NATO opening for the first and only time at a WWE event, and it was at the very end. The stars aligned for me, and I feel so blessed.

He'll never see this, but it'd be cool if he knew about the lives he's touched and whether he wrestles in AEW, ROH, NJPW, Impact, back in WWE later, or doesn't wrestle ever again, I hope for the best in whatever endeavor he takes on. I'm grateful to him and to all of you Ambrose fans we've shared the journey with. He's not retiring as far as I know, so we haven't seen the last of him. Now it's just a waiting/guessing game. He's truly "returned to society", but when he returns to the ring, whenever that is, wherever that is, I'll be watching and cheering him on.

Mox promo around 1:50

You truly gotta appreciate how affective WWE is at attaching a leash to their talents and how neutered their potential becomes.

This is a man who was meant to be a HUGE star but spent years working under the ceiling Vince wanted him to be.

Hell, Mox was still a star and was stupid over at some point even with booking that did him no justice. Imagine if he spent his post Shield days being everything he wished he could be in WWE?? Had the creative control to bring the character he's excellent at on the mic and in the ring?

Shame really. But what a joy it is to see what was caged for so long.

Yeah, I know people don't like when we're "complaining" here, so to speak, but damn... it took 1 week for them to ruin the guy.

Of course, he's not "ruined" in a sense that he is still pushed as a part of a group and he has tv time. But man, his identity is gone. He's just Romans crony, that's pathetic and sad.

The only hope for him is if he takes The Shield away from the audience, turning in the nearest of futures. Although he could get cheered still, since I'm not even sure people will boo Braun against the Shield. So who knows.

As much as I absolutely LOVE Ambrose, what sold that segment for me was Rollins, he was perfection in it, his expressions and mannerism, movements, everything wow. I never thought I could feel anger towards any act Dean did, but on this particular night, with everything real going on with Roman, their embrace and all of that, I seriously wanted Seth Rollins to kick his ass, it might pass till next Raw, but while watching it, it was heartbreaking and to my surprise, I give most of the credit of that to Seth, what an amazing sell job he did.

Also congratulations to WWE for taking advantage of the situation, it's the first heel turn I have ever been emotionally invested in the way they want you to be, normally I just go "holy shit, cool, something new" or something similar, not this time, well done

Dean granted a few wishes before the Manchester Raw:

Love how he goes from an absolute sweetheart off camera to this cold angry guy on TV. He's a great actor. He also looks super attractive here <3

So happy, used to spend hours looking for Moxley promos and watching them.

He does it so effortlessly, no one does it better than him.
