Re: 360 Achievement / PS3 Trophy Help & Discussion

Murdered: Soul Suspect

Moving On
Collected every trophy in the game.

Got Platinum #16 on Tuesday after 100% Murdered: Soul Suspect. I got this game on release day as I was initially intrigued by the trailer and the story but then it was left in my cupboard for 2-3 years. I decided after completing Rise of the Tomb Raider there were a few games on my list I've had for a while that I want to play and so, took them out of my cupboard and this was one of them.

This is a very easy game to Platinum, the only missable trophies are the collectibles mainly as well as the side missions. This game got a lot of very mixed reviews; either people loved it or hated it and I can understand both arguments. Myself? I thought this was a good, interesting game. Sure, it has its flaws and does get rather repetitive and tedious at times using the same formula for each section - go to location, find clue, avoid demons, move onto next place, rinse and repeat.

That and there's nothing really innovative or different about this game and there isn't really any combat, except for the QTE-esque event against the demons and in the final section of the game. However, this didn't really bother me as I was more compelled by the very interesting story. I like the concept behind this game and I really liked all of the characters and the voice acting, they gave some of the main characters a lot of depth and backstory, especially in regards to some of the collectibles you gain, which reveals more to their story and past. That I can appreciate right there.

The demons, despite spawning throughout the game and being your only real threat/test, were scary to deal with. Their screams resonated through me when I knew they were in the next room or their wailing screams alerted me when I knew they were nearby or about to spawn and I had a rather daunting task ahead. It seems easy enough, sneaking up to them and executing them but at times even when I thought I timed it right, they were somehow aware I was there and chased after me, which was rather scary and fun at the same time. Sure, it got repetitive, but I did like how petrifying they made the demons... to me anyway.

I'm a sucker for crime solving and paranormal ghostly type games/shows, so I did like that part of the game also, finding the clues, using your paranormal powers, interacting with other spirits, finding out more about the witch trials and the history of Salem, solving the various cases and linking things together to further progress in the story and reveal more to the story and inevitably lead you to the final conclusion... who is The Bell Killer? I sort of had an idea of who it was, I was technically right but they did add a twist to it and I'll commend the developers for that (a shame the company Airtight closed their doors).

There was one worrying part though towards the end of the game. I have heard of other gamers experiencing various glitches and bad ones at that, such as freezing or their game crashing and losing data or a trophy not popping. The only problems I endured was framerate issues and weird orange pixels shining on the screen in the background in certain areas (mainly the cemetery). The worst one though was towards the end of the game where I found 6 clues in the War Room (in the Judgment House) and I thought there was supposed to be a cutscene as there usually is when you find all the clues and try and solve the investigation. However, I went out of the room to execute the demons and then went back to find the clues and despite picking up the clues it didn't appear on the counter and I was unable to conclude the investigation in the room. I checked videos to see if there was supposed to be a cutscene and indeed, there was.

So I move along past some of the areas worried something buggy had happened with my game and took on more demons and thankfully, the next cutscene plays but I can tell something is going wrong with my game. It starts to sort of bug out with Ronan walking very slow and when I try and run, he sort of does this limp run where he stops with every step forward. This continues but all my trophies pop for getting all of the collectibles as well as finishing the second to last mission. However, the bug continues even as I go to the final location in the game and do the final mission. I was glad though the trophies popped and the Platinum was secured despite the bugs but that was a heart in the mouth moment!

Overall, a satisfying game to play if you want to achieve an easy Platinum and enjoy a good crime/paranormal concept.

I platinumed Uncharted 2 remastered, good times. I had previous plat the original Uncharted games so it's pretty fun to go back through them again and experience the annoyance of Crushing again.

I also got my fastest platinum at 2 hours 18 minutes. A terrible game called MonsterJam Crush it, it's a really bad monster truck game, I didn't think it would even have a plat but ye if you're looking to boost your trophy count there is a shitty game to do it with.

Tales From The Borderlands:

We Had Fun, Didn't We?
Complete Tales From The Borderlands

Another easy Platinum trophy to tick off the list as I add #17 to my collection but I just had to give a review of this awesome game! I definitely preferred this series to the Batman Telltale series, I enjoyed every chapter from start to finish, the characters were so interesting and hilarious, the world/planets were great to look at and I was a huge fan of the story. This game was so much fun and I can't count how many times I laughed, so many hilarious moments from a lot of these incredible characters, both good and bad.

Everyone was voiced well and I loved every character; Rhys, Vaughn, Fiona, Sasha, Vasquez, Handsome Jack, Gortys, Zer0, Athena, Felix, August, Cassius, etc. However, my favourite has to go down as Loader Bot, man I love that robot! Every time he said "Hi" I cracked up and he had some awesome one-liners and comebacks, especially when he was kicking ass, great examples are "I Am Become Death Destroyer of Bandits!" being a real highlight as well as "Come with me if you want to leave". Also loved his relationship with the human characters and especially his fellow robotic pal, Gortys.

Another favourite moment was when August didn't want to be left alone with Gortys in the caravan and she responds "Awww but I like you so much!" and the door slams. So funny! Handsome Jack also has some excellent moments, "Hail to the King, Baby!" being a personal favourite and I was intrigued by his bromance in someways with Rhys and how he did show glimpses of good in him. So many fantastic moments from a truly wonderful game.

I was pleased with my options and I loved the different direction they went with and had a Rhys/Sasha potential romance instead of the blatantly obvious Rhys/Fiona, I really started to like Sasha and Rhys together more and more as the story went on and they had really good chemistry and it made their missions together even more engaging.

Loved the ending and it felt satisfying finally getting to the Vault. I've never purchased any of the prior Borderland games but this game made me interested in the story and has my attention.

Fantastic game, 10/10 from me.

Re: 360/Xbone Achievement / PS3/4 Trophy Help & Discussion

I got the platinum for Dark Souls the other day. Phenomenal game and one I'm proud of because I sucked at the Souls games a few years ago. I hoping to plat all the souls games eventually, I've copmpleted 1 & 3, currently working on Bloodborne.

It took longer than expected, I screwed up the Knights Honor trophy during my NG++ playthrough by crafting the wrong weapon and losing a boss soul in the process, meaning I had to beat the game again, enter NG+++ and kill Great Grey Wolf Sif... again. Didn't bother me, because I enjoyed the hell out of Dark Souls!

Just wrapped up, Assasins Creed Origins & Rise of the Tomb Raider.

AC is great, bit long if you're chasing the plat, but nothing tricky.
TR - easy enough some annoying levels on the "Golden Child" trophy. Score attacks suck.

Onto Borderlands 2.

I got the Dragon Ball FighterZ platinum a few eeks ago. Wasn't that hard but holy fuck... the Zeni grind is a nightmare! Took me a month to get the 20mil trophy. That's why the rarity is 0.1% lol

Alien: Isolation

Alien: Isolation
Unlocked every Alien: Isolation trophy

Boy oh boy, was this a bit of a chore but a lot of fun! I got this game originally for my step-dad, who made a start on it but moved onto another game. I was intrigued by this game when it was released in 2014 but just never got around to purchasing it. I therefore, asked to borrow it to play and he said it was fine. So I played the campaign on hard on my first go, ensuring I completed the collectables trophies first as well as completing certain chapters without being killed or caught by the alien or the Working Joe androids as well other miscellaneous trophies. That and completing the game on hard meant I got the Survivor trophy for completing the game on the hardest difficulty setting.

Unfortunately, I found out after finishing the game the first time, I didn't secure the trophy for completing the entire game without dying. I think what happened was I died during mission 3 by one of the humans, as he shot me when I tried to escape through a vent. I think I accidentally chose to continue on and never opted to pick my prior save, which would have voided the kill. Therefore, that one kill was registered and I never obtained the trophy. Therefore, on my 2nd playthrough, I started from the beginning on mission 3, avoided getting killed by the humans and finished the game yesterday and hey presto, the trophy appeared and I completed the game without dying. The final trophy I had to get was to be killed by the alien 100 times, which took me 50 minutes to achieve and I used mission 6 to help me with that.

All in all, it's a really fun, atmospheric and enthralling game to play. The horror vibe is so well done, especially on hard when you can't predict when the Alien is going to appear, what path he's going to take or when he's going to turn around as sometimes you think he's going to go one way but then he turns quickly and he may see you! Plus, those Working Joes are freaky! Especially as the game gets further into the story they become an annoyingly creepy obstacle to endure. Missions 5, 10-14, 17 and 18 were real highlights for me. The game did have some bugs, some entertaining ones at that but that didn't take away from my experience with the game. Fingers crossed a 2nd one is to come as I'd definitely be interested in getting it!

Overall, I'd give the game a 9/10 and I'm pleased to have this on my Platinum Achievement list.
