What does WF think of RE4 and RE2 REmake?

I haven't heard much about REmake 2 since it came out but RE4 was groundbreaking for it's time with TPS in 2005 that somewhat paved the way for it's action style genre of gaming, Yet I never heard about how much RE2 set the course for future installments in bringing the fanbase back in after so many trial and errors.

Does anyone want RE3 to get an overhaul too? I think the series went through a necessary revival period after shitty installments like RE6 for example.

Re: What does WF think of RE4 and RE2 REmake?

REmake 2 is awesome, I've beaten it like 10 times or more. It has its flaws (A and B scenarios don't make sense for one), but it is still great. Plenty of people discussed it here for the first couple of months after the release.

RE4 never really grabbed my attention back then, and I never had a will to play it since.

I hope the do release REmake 3 ASAP. Don't care about Project Resistance.

However, for those who love the original RE3, there is an awesome build called Seameless Project. They upscalled almost all textures in the game and now it looks like almost a game from current gen. It's like holly shit man They did the same with RE2 by the way, and their RE1 remaster is on its way. You can play it only on GameCube Emulator, though.

CURRENT:
Jon Moxley, Sami Zayn, Chris Jericho, Drew McIntyre, PAC, Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe, MJF, Bray Wyatt.

I liked RE4 but it's not a favourite the way it is with a lot of people. Not played RE2make yet. I got half-way thrpugh RE3 and Nemesis just started to piss me off so I never beat it. Will go back to it one day and hell yeah, remake it, why not.

They have RE1 remaster on current gen in a bundle pack with RE0 called Origins.

That being said you should give RE4 a go which is now obviously remastered it's got plenty of replay value and succeeds where 5 and 6 failed.

Re: What does WF think of RE4 and RE2 REmake?

As above, REmake 2 was a great game, completed it many times over. I also wasn't a big fan of Nemesis though but if they can remake it anything near the quality of 2 then I'd probably find enjoyment in it. 4 was a fun game but it wasn't an RE game for me. I prefer its horror roots and that's when it really began to depart from them. Again, I guess I'd play a remake of it if it came to it although I'd like another installment akin to RE7 as I loved that game

Re: What does WF think of RE4 and RE2 REmake?

its*

RE2 was amazing and they're apparently already working on a remaster of the 3rd.

RE4 is still a solid game whose only flaw is the characters moving like trucks. IMO the sequels weren't bad either, the gameplay in RE6 was interesting and very fun in co-op.

RE7 is overall great but for some reason I rarely replay it. It lacks some truly memorable moments and the last part in the boat is boring.

But as far as I'm concerned, RE HD remaster is the best of the series. It's actually my favorite game ever. I play it several times a year, although I know it by heart and always finish it in less than four hours. It's definitely a game that everybody should have played once in my opinion. And the graphics still hold up today, it's a magnificent game.

I wouldn't mind a remake/remaster of Code Veronica either, I have a very few memories from it, because it was one of the last games I bought on GameCube and I sold the console a few months later to get a PS3.

There's also RE Zero, which is forgettable but quite pleasant and better than the Revelations games.

Yeah, I know, but it's a REmake, not remaster. Seamless guys are working on graphics for old games.

I like that we have RE1 and RE2 remakes, waiting for RE3.

Same here, looks like a fun game, but I just can't invest when it not a suspence horror type game.

Let me tell you this game is scary as shit. The atmosphere is so great, while REmake 2 is scary too, it doesn't quite live up to REmake 1 HD. That game is on its own another level.

Re: What does WF think of RE4 and RE2 REmake?

RE4 = best game in the series imo. Was a very necessary change at the time because the RE formula had gotten stale, although the more action orientated path did lead to some not so great games in the following years.

REmake 2 = Wont say its better than the original because 20+ years apart its hard to fairly compare. But it did justice to the source material, didnt sour the nostalgia of the original and is an awesome game in its own right.

Re: What does WF think of RE4 and RE2 REmake?

RE:4 more like Shinji Mikami DGAF last work before he leave this franchise and Capcom(I know he still able to finish God Hand). The first concept RE:4 look similar with his Evil Within but after RE:make fail to meet the expectations and also it was kinda Mikami fault when he decided to make exclusive to GameCube, Capcom decided to make RE:4 for PS2 and PC, for PC, I'm very upset since it was PS2 Port but the mod for that game is awesome until today and wilsonso trainer.

Re: What does WF think of RE4 and RE2 REmake?

I loved RE2 REmake but once you do Scenario A and B theres hardly a reason to switch characters and do it again cause its pretty much the exact same regardless who you pick first. My only big grip on the game.

Cant wait for RE3 remake to complete the trilogy
