How much longer Gamestop has til there out of business?

3 years. I think in 3 more years Gamestop will be completely out of business.

As the years go by reports come out how Gamestop business is doing and each time they loss money in the millions.

Digital game sales are steadily on the rise. People stay home and order from Amazon (mostly when it comes to shipping. Others like to do an all in 1 shopping trip, meaning like Walmart and Target you can buy clothes, your groceries, and movies and video games all in one place.

Also as time goes go more and more gamers are avoiding buying from Gamestop cause how Gamestop does business. Seriously go on youtube and type in Gamestop and watch how many videos pop from former cosumers to former employees of Ganestop how shady there business practices are.

When Gamestop closes it wont be a blow for me cause for years now iv been buying all my games digital.

It will suck though for cosumers who still enjoy shopping there and some of the employees are cool people. I met two employed people at Gamestop who are now my friends. One is a manager and he's a huge wrestling fan even does commentary on backyard wrestling

Re: How much longer Gamestop has til there out of business?

It's surprising they haven't gone out of business yet, tbh.
I certainly won't miss the predatory practices of trying to sell there customers on countless bullshit add-ons and pre-orders, or offering 1/5th of what your stuff is worth.

I don't doubt there are some decent people who work there, and I know that they ride their employees hard to push the bullshit previously mentioned.
I actually signed up for some dumb 'gamestop powerup' bullshit once because I felt bad for the guy. He seemed miserable and had massive breasts. They were big for even a woman, let alone a man. Signing up for the bullshit was the least I could do.

Why do so many people salivate over the mere thought of Gamestop going under? You guys act like they're the only store that treats customers and employees like crap.

Wal-Mart tells employees to go on welfare while also treating them like crap. Do you guys want every chain to go under?

I've said it before, I love my Gamestop and I would hate to lose it. They've never really hurt me and I even call a few employees friends.

What's the point of trying to guess when a shit ton of people lose their jobs? Why are so many of you happy about it or looking forward to it?

Re: How much longer Gamestop has til there out of business?

well here we had electronics boutique. that went tits up

and gamestation. that went tits up.

and g-force. that went tits up.

there's game. which also went tits up but is somehow still around

i forget what was before electronics boutique here, but i still remember them selling megadrive/nes games at 80 a pop

seemingly still a ceX here also, but...the thing is, like you say, i can just buy it sitting on my arse at home and get it delivered to my door. it's not like 15 or even 10 years ago where you had to physically go to the shop

no point in browsing for second hand bargains either like the old days - it's still cheaper online and likely the same price or not much to buy a brand new copy

they also do that weird thing where they try and sell collectibles and collectable stuff (cards, figures, limited editions etc) alongside the games - when there's actual specialist shops that know their shit, have a bigger selection, more genuine staff etc who also sell that sort of stuff. so the sort of shop you'd still make the physical effort to go to

so i won't really miss gaming shops, aside from the nostalgic memories of them. will obviously be shit for those who work in them if they go out of business

Eh, I don't see anyone here taking glee in it, or saying they're looking forward to it. There are aspects of it I won't miss, sure, but I would take no pleasure in seeing them go out of business. Yes, there are other business that are shitty to their customers/employees, but what does that matter here? That's 'whataboutism' at its finest.

It's valid to speculate. Game Stop is close to being an antiquated concept due to online shopping and digital games.

Given that the outlook of Gamestop's future is very bleak those people should be preparing themselves for the likelihood of losing their jobs. Now would be a great time for them to start looking for work elsewhere. Plus once it is announced Gamestop is going out of business most of them will leave before Gamestop's final day of operation.

I'm not celebrating the possibility of people losing their jobs, but I'm not going to shy away from discussing Gamestop's future including it potentially going out of business. Even if they don't go out of business there still remains the possibility of them closing stores and people still losing their jobs anyways.

Gamestop is in a terrible position and they only have themselves to blame. It's unfortunate that the people that had the least amount of say are the ones most effected.

that happens everywhere tbh. You will walk into any game store around here and they will offer you 1 for a game then turn around and stick it on the shelf for 27.

I can't believe anyone accepts the prices they offer. Its so low its actually laughable. I guess some people do though so I can't blame them for doing it. There is literally no value in offering your items to game stores, they will only rip you off. They have no intention of offering you what its worth because they want to maximise their profit margins.
