When most of the U.S. has 5G (or faster) Internet, game streaming could become mainstream, and it will only get better. Streaming a game would have a lot of benefits. No updates, no installs, convenience, etc. You just press the "play" button, like on YouTube and Netflix.
But it's all-Internet. You'll need a reliable, very fast Internet connection, to get the best out of game streaming. The faster the Internet, the better it would be.
The U.S. needs serious Internet speed upgrades to support this. There's basically no way right now most Americans could use Stadia, not at its best anyway. Internet in the U.S. is too slow. Even a high-speed connection can have trouble loading 4K video. You pretty much need ultra-high-speed Internet for streaming 4K, 8K, etc.
