As a side note it's very excellent not being terrified of falling off a ten foot ledge and breaking every bone in your legs and arse and spine). I'mma tackle the bull again later. Or maybe I'll go back to Hirata and try what I'm assuming is going to be a boss (the part in the main estate, just past the buildings that are on fire).
Firecrackers work well against beast-types

EDIT: Also yes, finish Hirata Estate. Big Boss there that gives you cool things.

Can we all agree that the best boss entrance ever is now

"MY NAME IS GYOUBU ONIWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!AAA"

Edit: no spoilers, but everything Giant Serpent related is amazing in the game. Just did the "kite" part. Holy hell that was the best.

The firecrackers weren't really doing much for me initially because, well, nothing was really doing much for me because I was going about the fight all wrong. I was letting the thing charge me and then I'd try to dodge or jump out the way and I kept getting murdered. Actually chasing after the bull was a way better strategy, then using the firecrackers every so often gave me a few extra hits when it was needed. Also that skill where you can slide straight into a crouch probably didn't make any difference but it sure looked cool whenever the thing would try to headbutt me to death and I'd just slide under its horn before stabbing it repeatedly in the arse.

Juzuo was a really fun fight as well. Whittled him down to about an inch of health and I got caught, but that resurrection I had in the pocket saved me. The guy you can enlist for help was fine enough as a distraction as I got rid of the scrubs, but he was pretty flimsy and doesn't last very long. Currently at Lady Butterfly and it feels like the best possible version of a Nioh boss, which I obviously mean as a compliment. I feel for the poor soul who thinks he/she has killed her only for that second phase to kick in. I have four snap seeds or whatever they're called so hopefully I can get past her before running out because I imagine I might be in for some RAGE~ if I don't. I'll give it another run tomorrow and probably finish her off before I do anything with the Ashina Castle interior.

ok I kinda want this right away now. Played a bit of it and it ruled. What platform are peeps playing on? I want it on PC but JB Hi-Fi has it on PS4 for a decent bit cheaper than than any PC download. Anyone know if there's a strong performance difference from PS4 (not the Pro fwiw) and PC? I'll assume the frame rate isn't as consistently good.

Re: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (March 22nd, 2019) - "its nothing like a souls game"

@Arya Dark @Dolorian @Vic @Black Metal @Sephiroth

Spoiler for Sekiro Update:

* It took me about 5 or 6 attempts to get Gyoubu Masataka Oniwa down. Once I learned how to fight the boss it honestly wasn't too difficult. Having said that, this boss was fantastic. Great concept with the Cavalier horse, really good moveset where you'd get punished if you aren't careful with plenty of openings to exploit. Particularly love that you can grappling hook the horse to get in close. And that fucking opening ride in and statement so badass.

* On the contrary, until I realized the best way to fight her, I really struggled with Lady Butterfly. In hindsight now that I know what the best way to combat her is, I shouldn't have any problems in subsequent runs but I first tried to be aggressive, only deflecting when it was clear she was getting the upper hand and when that didn't work I tried dodging to the side to try to get more hits in. Both methods took down my healing way too much for the 2nd phase which I couldn't handle. Eventually I thought "I wonder if I should be deflecting and only attacking when there's clear openings" and sure enough on the 2nd try the following day I got her.

Another great boss, really fast paced and dynamic. Love the contrast with the quick close combat moves with the long ranged shuriken. The hanging wires are so cool and it's great it can be exploited by knocking her off with shuriken. The 2nd phase I'm not so keen on. The illusions are fine to avoid and deal with but the light projectile felt really cheap and kept chipping my health away with seemingly no way to avoid being hit.....that was until I decided to deflect it instead which mitigated the damage. Still really enjoyed the boss though.

* Done a bunch of mini bosses. The Blazing Bull was pretty damn tough despite only being one bar and THANK GOD it's only 1 bar otherwise it would have been a nightmare. Fun little mini boss which stands out for the fire and how aggressive it is. The Fireworks tool is your best friend for this one . The General by Ashina Castle was okay to deal with and quality wise. Didn't stand out too much from pervious ones except he had a lot of smaller enemies around him. I decided to just pick them off with Shuriken and then plunging attack for the 1st deathblow, rest of the fight was alright.

* Ashina Elite - Jinsuke Saze.....jesus. For a short time I struggled a bit with him too mainly due to how fucking quick his swordsmanship is. Very hard to deflect and block for me. So I mucked around with how I could take him down and found that using Sabimaru to poison him as well as dodging in time to right to get some good hits in was the best strategy. Thankfully his health is low and his posture can be taken down quite easily but if you get caught by one of his combos you are fucked.

* I found some new prosthetic tools, those being the Sabimaru, Mist Raven and Loaded Spear. So that was nice. I have yet to test the latter two which I might try out tonight.

* The two mini bosses at the Ashina Reservoir are tough as fuck. I've only attempted Seven Ashina Spears - Shikibu Toshikatsu Yamauchi a few times but fuck he hits like a truck. One hit takes off almost all of my health bar. The other mini boss Lone Shadow Longswordsman is the most annoying one to date for the simple fact that I've gotten so close on a number of occasions to beating him yet can't seem to get over the hurdle. I'll be trying to knock him off tonight.

* I've explored pretty much all of Ashina Castle now, gone past the abandoned dungeon as well as progress a side quest there and have gone through quite a bit of the Senpou Temple, Mt. Kongo area which honestly is absolutely stunning. Such a fantastic area to explore and the routes you can take via the grappling hook are unreal. It might be my favourite area thus far to date.

* Did the Armored Warrior which was interesting. Very slow and easy to dodge and counter but no damage was being done. Tried poison, nope. Tried stunning him with firecracker, no effect. Fire? Nope. So I was like how the fuck do you beat this guy? Then I saw there was an opening on the side to drop off the bridge and thought "I wonder if I can force him to the opening and push him off?". Sure enough, that was the method needed. The most amusing thing was the mini boss shouting "Roberrrrrt" as he fell off the bridge as Robert is my real name .

I've also come across another mini boss later in the area but I've yet to attempt it. Looks like a giant centipede.

* I got to the main hall of the temple area and got to an NPC who requires something from me which I had no idea how to do. Explored the surrounding areas a bit and found that there's no real extra place to go to. So I was like fuck what do I do? So I had to look it up and it turns out I completely missed Genichiro Ashina. I just assumed I'd have to fight him later after the 1st encounter. Anyway this boss is TOUGH. I actually got both his bars down on my 2nd attempt and thought I beat boss on my 2nd attempt only to find out his true 2nd form.....fuck. Since then I've only gotten back to it a hand full of times. I pretty much have his moveset down at least the 1st two phases but I'm not great at fighting him at the moment. I have no idea how I'm going to beat his 2nd phase with that damn lightning...I need to get to it with at least 2 to 3 Gourd Seeds left and thus far I've had to spend all my healing to even get close to getting to that 2nd phase. It's going to take me a while....

* Probably going to try and beat a couple of the mini bosses to get another bead neckless, farm some pellets and then try Genichiro again. If I can't beat the mini bosses I'll just keep plugging away at the main boss of Ashina .

The 2nd phase Genichiro is very very easy. Stay away from him it all times. Don't attack.

If his perilous attack happens and its thrust, its a huge window to Mkiri counter. Lay into him with s couple hits after.

If he does lightning, jump and get hit on purpose. The trick is hit R1 (attack) before landing and you throw it back to him. This will stun him so you can get hits in.

Honestly, if you luck out abd get 4 Mkiri counters in a row then he's essentially dead.

I already died once .

We’ll see if this tops DaS2 for me. I know someone already loving it due to stealth. If being sneaky is a legit option then that’s fantastic.
