Yup, was mentioned on this thread:

Great news, would have been a huge shame if the last two episodes had never been made.

Re: The Walking Dead: The Final Season

Skybound Games have announced that work on the game has resumed, with many of the original team back on board. Release dates for the final two episodes should be coming shortly.

Re: The Walking Dead: The Final Season

So.....Episode 3 got pretty intense. No idea how they’re going to end things now that
Spoiler for spoiler:
Lilly and James both appear to be determinant

Re: The Walking Dead: The Final Season

Spoiler for ep3:
All this time I've been teaching AJ to be empathetic and to not kill so easily, but had to give him the order at the end there.. Lilly was clearly the driving force on their side and past the point of redemption. Minnie took me by surprise, but I felt she could still be redeemed even after the double back-stab. She's clearly just afraid.

Very good episode despite the switch to Skybound. Just one more and perhaps this'll be my favorite Telltale game. RIP.

There were one or two moments where the Episode’s troubled development showed through, but I thought it was really good overall. I’ve done the same as you in my main play through, and also let AJ blow Lilly away. Didn’t really want to, but it had to be done. That decision, and the one in the cell, were the toughest ones I’ve had in the whole TWD series tbh. The barn scene, where you see through the walker mask, was very well done and claustrophobic. No idea how the final episode will play out, especially considering the now determinant status of one or two characters.

Loved the salt lick callback to S1, and the “chronic masturbation” line was probably the most I’ve ever laughed at a computer game...

Re: The Walking Dead: The Final Season

Spoiler for spoilers for Episode 4:
The final episode of TFS came out yesterday, and although there were one or two issues, it brought Clementine’s story to a satisfying conclusion.

Pros

The Clementine “death”. I really should know better by now when it comes to Walking Dead fakeouts, but I have to admit they suckered me. Pretty much as soon as Clem got bitten, I was shouting “cut it off!” at my TV screen. Was enormously relieved when she turned up again at the end. You could question whether too much time had passed to prevent the infection spreading (I estimate it was probably between 15-30 minutes), but I don’t think it’s ever been established how long is too long.

That whole barn scene, with you controlling both Clem and AJ as you try to secure the place from the Walker horde. Definitely at least one of the most intense scenes of the season.

When Minerva came over the horizon singing that song, with half her face ripped off and Walkers in tow, that was a definite “oh shit!” moment. Wasn’t expecting Clem to get an axe to the leg either.

Happy Skybound avoided just killing off the kids for the sake of it. Obviously depending on what you tell AJ in the cave, either Tenn or Violet/Louis dies on the bridge, but it would have been easy (and disappointing) to kill off minor characters like Omar and Willie. Having suffered near on 40 deaths at the school over the years, they deserved a break!

I know the flashback scene divided opinions, but I liked it. Atmospheric and quite messed up. Apparently one of the people you shoot here was Eddie from the 400 days DLC in Season 1, but I don’t remember him because I haven’t played it in ages. Surprised they didn’t have this scene at the start of the episode though.

Cons

Really hoped we’d get multiple endings, including one where Clementine dies helping to save the kids. Thought there’d be different outcomes in the barn scene, depending on what you’d previously told AJ and what you told him to do in the barn, but it’s the same outcome whatever. With it being the last ever episode, there wasn’t really anything stopping Skybound from opening things up a bit, so it is a bit disappointing that there were only one or two minor changes in the endings.

Thought whoever survived the Episode 3 ending out of Lilly and James would play a bigger part in this one. Honestly expected Clem to come round after the explosion to find they had kidnapped AJ, with you then having to go after them. Instead, Lilly just pisses off on a raft after one last conversation, and James leaves after a confrontation with Clem in the caves. When they started fighting, I expected it to end with you having to kill him, but it quickly gets stopped.

The lessons you teach AJ along the way don’t really factor into how he turns out. The only choice that seemingly affects anything is whether you tell him you trust him to make the hard decisions or not in the caves, which determines whether he kills Tenn or if Louis or Violet die instead. The knock on TWD games throughout the series is that your choices don’t really change anything, but I thought that might be different in the final Season.

Overall, I thought this was a strong end to the series, and if we only got one ending I’m happy it was one where Clem lives. She’s definitely among the top characters in gaming history, and it feels weird that we’ve seen the last of her...
