Fine with this.

Details appear to have leaked about the upcoming Nintendo NX console, saying that it is a high-powered handheld which can plug into a TV docking station, features two detachable controllers, will use cartridges and is less powerful than current-gen hardware.
Not fine with this.

Other rumors include the fact that the new console won't support backwards compatibility with older Nintendo games due to the change in processing hardware
I really, really do not want to buy a Wii U again for my Wii U games. HOWEVER, if it supports digital Wii U games, I will just rebuy 'em when they're cheap (while still keeping my physical copies) and just use a different controller (hopefully) to play 'em like I'm doing with PS2 on PS4 games.

Its NINTENDO so I'll be buying it. Backwards compatibility doesn't bother me too much since I do own a Wii U. Wii U is totally worth getting for Wii U games though, especially when they go down in price once the NX comes out. Wii U has a great library and of course it also plays Wii games.

Really interested to see just how much of these rumours and leaks are true. Shouldn't be too long now until we find everything out for sure.

I hope they go to a true account system where digital titles are redownloadable.

Nintendo is seriously behind the curve on this. It's almost baffling it's been 10 years since the Wii and they still have not figured this out. Ridiculous, tbh.

So if this console is mainly a handheld, then what's gonna happen to the 3DS in the future?

What else would Nintendo do?

New(er) Nintendo 3DS XL coming this Holiday!

This is essentially going to be the next iteration. Nintendo are merging their handheld division with their console one. That's if I am understanding this correctly.

Honestly, this leak isn't giving me high hopes about the NX. I really want Nintendo to succeed with this thing, but I just cant see this doing it if this is true.

Does anybody really think that the major 3rd party developers are going to be interested in a machine that isn't as powerful as what's already out there?

That's what I am thinking as well. I fear this may end up alienating third party developers once again.

Nintendo's first party line up is strong but can it sustain another generation with limited third party support? :Hutz
