If Dolph doesn't win the rematch, what more could he possibly do in the company? He should have won at extreme rules considering the stipulations. He could have had a 2 week transitional reign, dropping it back to Drew or Seth or even Otis.

The match at ER clearly depicted his chances against Drew were zero and expecting him to win next week where Drew chooses the stipulation is reaching a lot.

He's losing.

Reminder that NJPW really, really wanted Ziggler and Cesaro. Both would probably be fixtures in the upper spot/main event, getting 20+ minute matches with Okada, Tanahashi, etc.

What more could he do? Nothing.

Orton should punt Ziggler on Raw and let that be the end of it. The days of Dolph being a main event attraction have been over for more than 5 years. Hes now worn out his welcome as a mid-carder. Pay him to sit at home or release him.
Wait wait wait-

Dolph Ziggler was a "main event attraction"?

Hell no. Dolph's time as WWE Champion or anywhere near that level has come and gone. He is there for someone to keep Drew busy for a week. The fact the rematch is even happening is stupid.

The only thing that would make Dolph serious again is a big win streak before challenging for a title or just leaving for a long time.

He isn't winning anything, he's their biggest jobber of the last decade.

Look ziggler is there to make guys look a million dollars that's his role. Dolph can get a good match out of anyone almost at this point and in wrestling you need guys like in the 90s it was xpac and then a couple years later it was Eddie before he got his big push

Yes, he was. Ziggler was one of the most over/hottest wrestlers in the whole company in mid-2012 through early 2015 (for the most part).

There was a time where he managed to be just as over with the crowds as Dean Ambrose was (if not, then moreso) in late-2014 through early-2015. There was even a lengthy period where the only wrestlers on the roster that were hotter with the crowds than Dolph Ziggler were CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. Hell, Ziggler even managed to get 50/50 crowd reactions with Bryan in their matches back when he was really hot too. That's how over Ziggler was.

I’d say late-2014 was when one can say that Ziggler is a main-event level attraction (or at least close to it). He was arguably the hottest/most over guy in the company following his amazing babyface performance at Survivor Series 2014.

Wow, I wasn’t even aware that NJPW wanted both men that badly. That’s pretty awesome to hear! :D

I can only imagine how great those matches would’ve been with any combination of Dolph Ziggler/Cesaro vs Kazuchika Okada/Kenny Omega/Hiroshi Tanahashi/Tetsuya Naito/Tomohiro Ishii/Hiromu Takahashi/Zack Sabre Jr./Sanada/Will Ospreay/Shingo Tagaki/Kota Ibushi/Jay White/etc. :mark:

Why should he do anything more in the company? He'll, why is he even still employed? The guy hasn't been over in 5 years and it's been longer than that since he was a believable threat. He should've gotten released when they cleaned house, I guarantee he makes more money than useful people like Lio Rush.

It's because he's been there so long so he's became part of the furniture so to speak yeah there not gonna push him as a top star but he a a guy they can turn to to get a match out of someone and make them look good in the ring because dolph can sell and bump very well for guys. But a guy like lio rush because he was new and had problems back stage in terms of attitude they could get rid of him easier

It's because Ziggler is a great wrestler who helps make his opponents look really good in the ring (wrestles better as a face), is pretty damn good on the mic (cuts better promos as a heel), is really charismatic, and can play the role of an underdog babyface really well. That's why he's still employed (thankfully).

If anything, he DESERVES to be in a prominent position in the upper-card for ALL the crap he's had to deal over the years having his momentum get wasted by the company multiple times. Dolph Ziggler has EARNED himself another world title win later on in the future, and hopefully they actually give him a decent title reign too (like they did with Kofi Kingston last year) before he eventually retires.

These really shouldn't be serious questions.

That's entirely down to booking.

Plus, Ziggler is capable of winning the crowds over as a babyface.

This is further proven by that Smackdown episode in February 2018 when he made his return to plenty of boos (since he was a heel beforehand), got beat down by the pair of Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn, cut a passionate backstage promo (fitting of a babyface), and then faced Zayn in the main-event with the crowd doing a complete 180 to Ziggler by cheering him. In just one night, Ziggler managed to win over the crowd by being put in the babyface role (even though there wasn't really a storyline that built to a face turn). Afterwards, they used Ziggler as a tweener (so they never officially cemented any face turn) even though crowds were somewhat getting behind the guy (once again).

There was also that Raw episode in December 2018 where he stood up against Drew McIntyre (who turned on his own partner), and teased another face turn; which the crowd was also getting somewhat behind Ziggler too. This brief face run only lasted a few weeks though since Ziggler eventually left to do his comedy gig.

Both of these instances was only a couple of years ago too, so I am sure that Ziggler is capable of being over with the crowds again if they organically build to an eventual face turn in a decent storyline, and ACTUALLY committed to a long-term face run (preferably when the crowds are back to react).

He should've gotten released when they cleaned house, I guarantee he makes more money than useful people like Lio Rush.
No, a competent wrestling company would've kept BOTH Dolph Ziggler and Lio Rush in their roster since they're both useful talents who can add to the midcard scene (at the very least) by wrestling good matches along with solid promos too. Plenty of fans would be entertained by the work of both those men.

He won't. They made his character a sniveling pathetic underachiever. Losing is now part of his gimmick.
