Re: Your favorite face vs face match?

If I recall correctly the only time Lesnar & Angle were both faces against each other was at Vengeance 2003 and that was a triple threat match with The Big Show. Their other matches one man worked heel and the other face: WM 19 Angle (heel) / Lesnar (face), SummerSlam Angle (face) / Lesnar (heel), SD Iron Man Match Angle (face), Lesnar (heel).

My answer to the thread topic is Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 25. Both men are my favorite wrestlers and they created art as they perform in what is the best match I ever saw. I'm extra biased because I was live in attendance to witness this truly epic battle go down.

I was there, too! Man, what an experience that was. To get, not an arena, but a huge football stadium that loud, which we all know is more difficult from a noise aspect in a bigger venue, is pretty wild looking back at it. Greatest match I've ever seen in person.

HBK/Taker WM 26 deserves a shout, too.

Rob Van Dam Vs John Cena ONS 06...

I mean I guess they were both faces... Though they didn't treat Cena like it.
Oh Cena was definitely heel in that match. Cena was like the antithesis of everything ECW stood for. He was a pariah in that building

Both Taker/Michaels matches, right off the bat, for obvious reasons that have already been stated here.

Also absolutely loved Michaels/Flair and, more recently, Nak/Zayn.

Michaels vs Cena, that long match they had on Raw in 2007. Excellent match and both of them were face.

For as long as I live I will feel that moment.

You damn right the WM 26 deserves a shout. I was live in attendance for that show too. Shawn & Taker had more storytelling to present off build and sheer emotion. What an magnificent moment it was to see Shawn Michaels go out on HIS terms, at the top of his game, in the main event of WrestleMania in a blaze of glory. It doesn't get any better than that for a closing chapter of a legendary in-ring career.

I was at that one, too. :lol I think Shawn/Taker have the best in-ring chemisty of anyone in WWE history. They are the only ones that are on the same level as that Flair/Steamboat chemistry (or at least somewhere close, depending on opinion), which is really saying something. The fact that they had 3 incredible matches in HIAC '97, WM 25, and WM 26. And the fact that their 'secondary/forgotten' matches are good matches like Royal Rumble '98, IYH: Ground Zero is pretty incredible, too.

Re: Your favorite face vs face match?

WM 6 Hogan vs Warrior. There was never a moment that two "face" stars had so much momentum coming into WM. The top two champions and what many felt was the change of an era. They were all wrong. However, seeing Hogan job to The Ultimate Warrior was something special. This was a "great" match in terms of skill, but the story told and the momentum had will never be seen again. Everyone talks about breaking kayfabe and how cool it is. Well this picture here says it all. What a display of torch passing even while Hogan knew Warrior was not the answer, but he jobbed anyhow.

Yeah, I came in to say this. It's my all time favorite build that unfortunately lead to the worst heel turn of all time, and the eventual downfall of the Attitude Era.
I actually liked the heel turn. :draper2

It made perfect sense from a storyline perspective imo. Dumb part was having him turn heel in Texas, where people were going to cheer him regardless of what he did.

I thought the dumb part was doing the heel turn right in the middle of the match rather then the end of the match with Vince hit Rock but Rock kicked out and then Vince and Austin just spent the rest of the match trying to keep Rock down almost like a comical Benny Hill sketch with the Benny Hill music.
