Re: X-Men: Dark Phoenix (November 2, 2018)

Any hot brunette. I'm pretty easy to please.

Obviously her vampiricish power is what makes her tragic and interesting, but being a powerhouse is appealing too. This team doesn't have a true heavy hitter. What's more retarded is that Rogue has a built in internal struggle. Internal struggle is what can make a character interesting inherently. Not using her is bad. You get a character that is guaranteed to be dynamic (it writes itself essenetially), plus you get a serious ass kicker female. What's not to love and bank on?

I blame Singer and Fox for Rogue. They decided to give Jubilees role to Rogue due to budget and so we ended up with useless emo bitch. Which in turn changed her significantly in the comics too.

If they'd just given them the money they needed we'd have had Jubilee, Beast and Gambit from the start. I believe Avalanche was cut at some point too.

Goddamn are we ever going get Gambit and Mr Sinister??
It's been like 17 x-verse films without those two.
I will never watch another Singer film after the way Jubilee was treated. 5 mins of screen time in total. She's the 2nd/3rd biggest female character Fox own.

1. Jean Grey (because of push not popularity)
2. Rogue/Jubilee
3. Storm
4. Mystique

It's arguable who's the 2nd. DC fanboys and Warner Bros will never admit that Harley is more over than Wonder Woman.
It's pathetic that Jubilee is in the top 3 female characters in the entire X-verse and has had 5 mins of jobber screen time.
So many films wasted screen time on promoting Jennifer.

Storm hello I put Emma Frost as well. I understand about the animated series but how you not saying Storm.

Sorry I was outraged by you not putting Storm on your list. I do agree about Jennifer even though Mystique is actually my 3rd favourite Marvel character and my favourite female and Villain.

I want to be excited for this since jean has always been my absolute favorite of any comics period. I know though that this will get fucked up somehow though just like most of the x films in the past have. The Phoenix saga shouldn't be touched imo unless they really start off with the hellfire club breaking down her psychic barriers, have them acknowledge that Professor x put them up to protect her and keep her powers in check and have jean lash out due to the lack of control. How they brought their so called 'hint of phoenix' out in the apocalypse movie was cringe worthy to me. They need to take a look at the comics and above all the 90s animated xmen cartoon and not just sit there and go 'well this would be fun..'. Sticking to tradition is key. This is one of those storylines they REALLY should have waited for marvel to do right. I get that Fox is looking to literally milk everything they can out of the franchise but i don't see it going well.

They need to give the X films a complete wash and something new for people to be excited about. If they stuck to even the tone of the 90s cartoon but even brought it a bit darker with : a bit of mr. sinister and his obsession w/ jean and cyclops, the shi'ar and the struggle between Lilandra and d'ken, bring in the Imperial Guard, show how Jeans loss of control can literally fuck up star systems, give us the starjammers with Corsair and go into him and cyclops and really revert to what got people to fall in love with the story they would have both casuals and comic fans happy.

I don't personally think that the current Jean and Cyclops (Turner and Sheridan) are the right picks for these roles, both are not strong enough for whats really needed. I'd recast both older and at least in their mid 20's.. in Apocalypse they both looked like children compared to the rest of the team. This doesn't have to be some type of teen romance drama bs like i have a feeling that the New Mutants film may be with their director but a more mature Jean / Cyc / Possible new Wolverine jealousy would be a good thing. They should really take a hint from deadpool and try to go the more adult route with this one. Also, can we please keep Jennifer Lawrence's HORRIBLE acting away from this movie? If we need mystique please on everything that is good in this world RECAST HER. We really shouldn't though due to the storyline being core xmen heavy but knowing the people likely to be attached to the product it could happen.

Rogue, Beast and Wolverine are pretty much needed for this storyline as well, it'll be interesting to keep watch to see if anything happens as far as castings / recasting's for them. Storm should also be brought in a lot heavier than she has been in the past and both her and Rogue deserve to have some awesome fight scenes with the Imperial Guard and Gladiator. This is where they can not only elevate Jean and Cyclops on a scale of importance both those two as well which they've failed to do over and over in the past years.

It'll most likely fail, i have about a 10% hope it'll actually come through and be great but that's being generous.

Movie Rogue influencing comic Rogue took her from being one of my favorite X-Men to bottom of the list.

Jubilee doesn't even make the top 10 females, even just counting the main team. If you count all the X-teams over time, probably barely top 20. And it's not because she isn't a cool character, just there are so many great female characters in the X-Universe.

Kitty is above Jubilee and I'd put Psylocke above her too.

I was going to go nuts but I left it she doesn't even crack the top 5.

Jubilees popularity lived and died with the animated series IMO. If she hadn't appeared I doubt she would even be mentioned. Same goes for Gambit, but he's managed to keep a bigger fan base over the decades.

Jean, Storm, Mystique, Kitty, Psylocke, Rogue, Emma and X23 are certainly above firework girl in 2017.

Can we please have something different from the following:

Magneto starts off peacefully incarcerated/in hiding. Something will happen that makes him start killing/destroying everything. Charles will convince him to stop at the end because "there's still good in you" and let him go even though he killed/tried to kill a shit load of people.

I've said a few times just use Magneto to establish Genosha then fuck him off. Bored of him, despite how good the actor is.

Maybe Magneto will actually be a part of the X-Men this time...............Ah, who the hell am I kidding, he's going going to try and harness/unleash Phoenix for his own goals right? :fuckthis

Mister Sinister better be the main villain this time or I will chop off Fassbender's penis. :armfold

That's what i was thinking about Phoenix.

As to your second comment. You're going to need some help.

Good thing you didn't say Neeson cause that would have just broken the axe.
