If anyone recalls during the WWF Golden era, During a segment called the Event Center, Sean Mooney would promote upcoming events in the local areas, during which he would promote various matches, they would include superstars giving promos in front of a green screen with a logo of the superstar, some of those included:

  • British Bulldog: Banner with a picture of a bulldog inside of a collar and Union Jack
  • Big Boss Man: Jail bars with sheriff star.
  • Undertaker: Coffin with graveyard background.
  • Shawn Michaels: Name over breaking heart.
  • "The Model" Rick Martel: Sketch of Martel's face next to name.
  • Mr. Perfect. Name in between two busts of Curt Hennig against cloudy sky.
  • Ultimate Warrior: Name next to facepaint against starry sky.
  • Macho Man: Name with Savage's shades.
What are some of your favorites?

  • Million Dollar Man: A bunch of dollar bills with DiBiase's face on them.
  • Hulk Hogan: Red "Hulkamania" text across yellow background.
  • Rowdy Roddy Piper: Yellow "Hot Rod" logo over plaid background.

If you're interested in wrestler logos from late 90's search on youtube for a video game intro WWF Attitude for PS1. The opening video ends in quick display of the roster logos, with my favorite being The Undertaker

Always thought they were interesting and, in hindsight, must have been cheap. The idea of doing countless market specific promos against these green screens as well meant guys were logging so much more promo time which could only assist them in getting better (in delivery, even if the content would be recycled for any given set of promos). Importantly, guys who weren't strong on promos were able to get the best version of their promo captured for air.
