Just rewatched this ppv recently, 2002 was a great year with all the big 4 shows that year really delivering

But even the non big 4 ppv's were really good that year as well

This ppv followed the amazing summerslam 2002 show and I believe it held up well on a rewatch

I do think no mercy 2002 was the best non big 4 show that year, but this is a close second

This show was headlined by lesnar vs taker in their first match, they had a amazing feud in the fall of 2002, and this match despite having no winner was awesome

The hell in the cell match that followed at no mercy 2002 was a classic

I really miss feuds like brock and taker, just classic storytelling with 2 guys eager to tear each other apart

You just don't get that in the modern era of wwe

And the rest of the matches on this show was pretty good as
well

Even though rock and austin were basically gone at this point the star power was still off the charts in 2002

It's also nice to go back and watch ppv's that had more than 5 matches lol

Imagine if someone treats a pregnant woman like that nowadays ( I don't watch anymore, but 0% chance anything like that happened in recent memory ).

The colored haired / painted nail folk will have a tantrum like never before.....

no mercy 2002

Taker got violated mentally with Lesnar insinuating he fucked his woman and assaulted him with a freakin propane tank physically. Lesnar was a demon during this build-up.

The storylines during fall 2002 were really out there. Katie Vick, Undertakers mistress or whatever she was, Billy and Chucks wedding, HLA, Eric and Stephanie kissing with no follow up. I’m probably missing some, but seems like they were trying to be controversial for just the sake of being controversial without trying to make it good in the process.

Great matches around this time though. Can’t deny that.

That was the kind of my problem with this era. They had done everything shocking over and over to where now, they were just pushing the envelope for the sake of pushing it and a lot of it just wasn't very good. I do think the in-ring product was solid though.

Oh man....the back cover, with the match listings, brings back so many memories...

Hell no, it was atrocious. First PPV in over 6 years that didn't involve Austin or Rock, effectively killing the energy and the crowds showed it.
Also, it marked the start of one of the dullest era in WWE's history, the Reign of Terror
