WWE: The Divergence

I began writing this thread back in April but I wasn't happy with the results. So I went away and improved the shows I had already uploaded. Therefore, may I present to you WWE: The Divergence (v2). The first Raw and SmackDown are exactly the same as the least thread and then all the subsequently uploaded shows after them have been expanded on and improved. Feedback would be greatly appreciated but most of all I hope you enjoy! (Last thread ended on 18/04/2015).

Monday Night RAW

30/03/2015 – San Jose, California
Commentary Team: Booker T, JBL and Michael Cole
Ring Announcer: Lillian Garcia
Backstage Interviewer: Renee Young

Monday Night Raw kicks off with a short video package recapping the results of WrestleMania 31, with a particular focus on Seth Rollins WWE World Heavyweight Championship win over Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns before Booker T, Michael Cole and JBL welcome you to Monday Night Raw. Michael Cole tells us that later on tonight we will hear from the new WWE Intercontinental Champion Daniel Bryan and The Authority are hosting a special celebration for the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.

‘The Time is Now’ starts to play and a mixed reaction ensues as the new WWE United States Champion, John Cena, makes his way to the ring to kick off Monday Night Raw. In the ring Cena states that he put his whole heart into last night to make sure that the United States Championship was back into the hands of someone who respects it, unlike Rusev. Cena claims that he will be a fighting champion who won’t back down from any challenger.

Just as he says this Rusev’s music hits and out comes Lana without Rusev. Lana claims that Cena got lucky last night and that Rusev, being the super athlete that he is, will bounce back from this defeat, reclaim ‘his’ United States Championship, and crush Cena along the way. Lana announces that Rusev is invoking his rematch clause for a United States Championship Match at Extreme Rules and this shall be the day the United States Championship returns, rightfully, to Mother Russia.

Before Cena can respond he is attacked from behind by Rusev who proceeds to hit Cena with a super kick and then a Bulplex. As Cena lay on the canvas Rusev picks up the United States Championship, raises it to the sky and as the Russian flag drops down from the rafters, he poses with the recently lost Championship.

We return to the broadcast team who recap what just happened and announce that John Cena will defend his United States Championship against Rusev at Extreme Rules in 4 weeks time.

Next up Lillian Garcia is in the ring and announces AJ Lee, Paige, Naomi, The Bella Twins and Natalya to the ring.

Match #1
AJ Lee, Naomi and Paige vs. The Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie Bella) and Natalya
6-Man Tag Team Match

The Match starts with both AJ Lee and the Divas Champion Nikki Bella in the ring. In the early stages the Bella Twins and Natalya dominate the match with frequent tags between the 3 women. AJ manages to escape and get a hot tag to Naomi but Brie Bella, who returns to frequent tags between her partners, quickly kills her momentum. After some near falls on Naomi the Bella Twins begin to become frustrated and resort to more power based moves and revert away from frequent tags. This enables Naomi to tag in AJ Lee who manages to floor the Divas Champion and while knocking Brie and Natalya off the Apron turns around into a Rack Attack from Nikki.

So close, but AJ manages to kick out at two. As Nikki grows frustrated that she can’t put the resilient AJ down she loses focus and AJ manages to tag in Paige who hits Nikki with a super kick and then get her in the position to deliver the Rampaige. While doing this both AJ and Naomi knock Natalya and Brie off the apron and Paige hits Nikki with the Rampaige.

Winners: AJ Lee, Naomi and Paige @ 7:48s

All three winners celebrate together in the ring while The Bella Twins and Natalya make their way backstage. As they’re doing this Paige signals that she’s coming for the Divas Championship by imitating it being around her waist. Nikki and Brie do their signature ‘L’ sign on their foreheads before we return to the broadcast team who remind us that later tonight The Authority are hosting a celebration for Seth Rollins, but right now we’re going to be hearing form the WWE Tag Team Champions.

‘Swiss Made’ starts to play and the WWE Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Tyson Kidd make their way to ring. Cesaro grabs a microphone from Lillian Garcia and begins to say that yesterday The Brass Ring Club proved that they are the most dominant Tag Team Champions in wrestling history. Tyson Kidd takes the microphone and tells the WWE Universe that yesterday at WrestleMania they defeated 3 tag teams at once and that there isn’t any teams left in the WWE that can beat them. Therefore The Brass Ring Club won’t defend the WWE Tag Teams Championships at Extreme Rules.

As the champions begin to walk off ‘Veil of Fire’ hits and Director of Operations Kane comes out form behind the curtain. Kane says that while they may have beaten the majority of the tag teams in the WWE they still need to defend their Championships. Therefore starting from next week eight tag teams will enter a competition to determine the new No.1 contender for the WWE Tag Team Championships and the winner of the tournament will then face The Brass Ring Club at Extreme Rules. Kane then returns backstage leaving The Brass Ring Club standing in the ring.

As we return from a commercial break Curtis Axel, Fandango and Rosa Mendes are in The Authority’s office. They tell Kane that they want to be in the No.1 Contenders Tag Team Tournament. Kane agrees to let them in the tournament and then Curtis Axel claims that when him and Fandango win the tournament and then the Championships his AxelManiacs will run wild with excitement. As he and Fandango leave, Mark Henry enters and asks for a place in the tournament as well, when Kane asks whom his partner will be Henry says he’ll find one by next week. Kane agrees to also let Henry in the Tournament.

As we return to ringside Emma is making her way down the aisle for a match against Cameron who is already in the ring.

Match #2
Emma vs. Cameron
Singles Match

At the beginning of the match Emma and Cameron lock up but it is Emma who comes out with a dominant position. She begins to then apply different submission holds to wear Cameron down. Cameron manages to gain a little bit of momentum but Emma is quickly able to get back to a dominant position. Emma then Irish Whips Cameron into the corner and then executes an Emma-mite Sandwich and as Cameron gets up she is transitioned into the Dil-Emma. Just before the 5 count Emma releases and brings Cameron into the ring where she applies the Emma Lock and Cameron taps almost immediately.

Winner: Emma @ 4:10s

As Emma’s celebrating we return to the broadcast team who mention that that’s probably the best they’ve seen her perform since her debut on the WWE’s Main Roster. They then tell us that its time to hear from the new WWE Intercontinental Champion.

‘Flight of the Valkyries’ starts to play and the crowd erupt. Once Daniel Bryan comes out he leads the crowd with a ‘Yes” chant all the way to the ring, where he climbs onto the turnbuckle and continues to chant ‘Yes’ with the crowd.

Once in the ring, Bryan props the Intercontinental Championship onto his shoulders and tells the crowd that winning this championship yesterday was one of the best moments of his career and that it is an honour to be listed with the best Intercontinental Champions of all time, including greats such as Chris Jericho, Mr. Perfect, Bret Hart, Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels and the Ultimate Warrior. He then says he could go on but there are too many greats to name and he’d be here all night. He says that he’ll try to live up to the great Intercontinental Champions before him, to which the crowd let’s out a large cheer before turning into boo’s once ‘Rebel Son’ hits.

Bad News Barrett appears from behind the curtain with a microphone in hand. Barrett says that Daniel Bryan can never live up to the great Intercontinental Champions of the past because he didn’t even pin or submit the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time, Bad News Barrett, to win the title. The crowd boo’s heavily. Barrett then says that while Bryan may be proud to be the champion he’s got some bad news, Bryan’s going to lose the championship because Barrett’s invoking his rematch clause for an Intercontinental Championship match at Extreme Rules, where he promises to defeat Bryan.

As the crowd boo Barrett, ‘Here to Show the World’ starts to play and Dolph Ziggler comes out to a large pop. Ziggler begins to say that he should be the one to face Bryan for the title seeing as he’s pinned Bryan twice in recent weeks. He also says that like Bryan, he too respects the great Intercontinental Champions of the past, unlike Barrett, so that alone makes him a more worthy contender. Before Barrett and Ziggler come to blows Triple H appears on the titantron, to a loud boo, and says that The Authority has decided that Barrett will face Ziggler in a No.1 Contenders Match next week live on Raw. Triple H also wishes Barrett luck and hopes he can take the title of one of these two or he might have to take matters into his own hands. As he says this Barrett hits Ziggler with the Bull Hammer and then shouts ‘your next’ to Bryan before leaving the stage.

After a commercial break the broadcast team announce that as well as Bad News Barrett and Dolph Ziggler’s No.1 Contenders Match, there is also going to be a triple threat match to determine the No.1 Contender for the Divas Championship next week and that will be between AJ Lee, Paige and Naomi.

‘Rebellion’ hits and The Ascension make their way down to the ring and Booker T, JBL and Michael Cole note how the Ascension haven’t won a match since the 2nd of March and aren’t living up to their potential but we’ll see if they can make an impact tonight. Next up The New Day make their way to the ring to boo’s. The Broadcast team note how The New Day must be frustrated due to their positive message being rejected by the WWE Universe.

Match #3
The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E/ with Xavier Woods) vs. The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor)
Tag Team Match

Konnor and Big E, the two big men, start the match and immediately lock up. Konnor is able to get the upper hand and take Big E to his corner. Konnor and Viktor use constant tags to deliver vicious tag team moves to Big E. Xavier Woods slaps the Apron but the WWE Universe respond with “New Day Sucks’ chants. Big E manages to get some momentum and tags in Kingston who manages to take down Konnor and Viktor and deliver a Boom Drop to Konnor.

Konnor Kicks out easily. Kingston tags in Big E but he is immediately struck with a Clothesline from Konnor. Konnor then manages to get a tag to Viktor who enters the ring and European Uppercuts the groggy Big E.

Kingston makes the save and Konnor immediately enters the ring and attacks Kingston and throws him out of the ring. Big E then throws Konnor out of the ring and when he turns around he is hit with Viktor’s Psycho Crusher.

Kingston again makes the save much to the annoyance of Viktor. But before Viktor can get to him, Kingston performs a suicide dive to the groggy Konnor on the outside of the ring. As Viktor trash talks Kingston, Big E lifts him up and hits him with the Big Ending.

Winners: The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston/ with Xavier Woods) @ 8:57s

With The New Day being booed while celebrating a deflated Viktor is sat in the ring leaning against the ropes. Booker T mentions how The Ascension just can’t seem to get a win and they need something or someone to lift them out of this slump, Michael Cole agrees and then questions what they could do to end this poor run.

Backstage Renee Young is waiting to interview Damien Mizdow. She asks him why he turned on The Miz yesterday. Mizdow states that for too long The Miz was bullying him and putting him down but he finally realised that in actual fact The Miz was holding him back and he’d had enough of taking his crap! Mizdow says that rather than being a stunt double he’s now taking on his own roles as Damien Sandow and he’s the real A-list star on the WWE Roster. He says next week Damien Sandow returns to singles action and he’s going to prove how much The Miz was holding him back. Sandow walks away as the crowd loudly cheer.

‘Written in the Stars’ starts as a loud ‘Cody’ chant breaks out. The announces state that much like The Ascension, Stardust hasn’t been on the best of runs lately, since losing to Goldust back at Fastlane, and it seems as though he’s letting the ‘Cody’ chants get to him. ‘Meat on the Table’ then hits and Ryback makes his way to the ring to a large pop.

Match #4
Stardust vs. Ryback
Singles Match

Before the bell rings a large ‘Cody’ chant breaks out and Stardust seems to become angry due to it. He hastily runs at Ryback but the 'Big Guy' manages to avoid Stardust’s running attack. Ryback picks up stardust and hits him with a Body Slam before setting up for the Meathook Clothesline. Once that connects Ryback hits Stardust with a Shell Shcoked.

Winner: Ryback @ 2:36s

Stardust quickly returns backstage to loud ‘Cody’ chants and then ‘Some Bodies Gonna Get It’ starts to play. Mark Henry comes out and says that while him and Ryback have had their differences in the past he believes Ryback would be the perfect partner for the tag team tournament and asks him to join him. Ryback agrees and they shake hands before celebrating Ryback’s victory.

After a break the broadcast team tell us that as well as two No.1 Contenders Matches next week and the Quarter Finals of the WWE Tag Team Championship Tournament, there have been rumours floating around backstage that the ‘Deadman’ himself, The Undertaker, will be appearing on Raw to address his win over Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania yesterday. They also tell us that it’s now time for Seth Rollins victory celebration.

‘The King of Kings’ hits and The Authority make their way out to a loud chorus of boo’s. Once in the ring Triple H takes a microphone and says that yesterday was a fantastic day for The Authority. He would like to congratulate Big Show on his Andre the Giant Memorial Trophy win, as the camera zooms in on the Trophy, and would also like to congratulate Seth Rollins. But before he can go any further Stephanie McMahon takes the Microphone and says that Triple H shouldn’t try to be gracious, she says that while Triple H isn’t one to rub salt into wounds he did beat the ‘Vigilante’ Sting last night. Triple H thanks Stephanie and says that he’s not one to brag but he did beat him. He says that in one night he eradicated Sting’s legacy and that the handshake at the end of the match was only to make Sting feel better. As The Authority laugh the crowd heavily boo. Triple H says that they’ll probably never see Sting in a WWE ring ever again after the embarrassment he suffered last night. The boo’s grow louder. Triple H then says that this isn’t about Sting and the reason everybody’s here tonight is to congratulate the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins on his hard fought victory.

‘The Second Coming’ hits and, accompanied by J&J Security, Seth Rollins comes out wearing an expansive looking suit and a pair of aviators, with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship draped over his shoulder. The crowd boo heavily while The Authority clap Rollins to the Ring. Once in the Ring Rollins takes a microphone and thanks The Authority for everything they’ve done for him, he asks if they like his new suit and claims it cost him $10,000 which he got with his Championship winning bonus. He says he worked hard to get the championship yesterday and deserves everything he’s got. As the crowd continue to boo he makes his way to a table covered with expansive foods and champagne and he proceeds to open a champagne bottle while Triple H and The Authority grin.

As the bottle’s cork pops out ‘Voices’ hits and Rollins panics. Randy Orton appears and says that Rollins won the championship the same way he gets everything, by being sly. Orton then says seeing as how he beat Rollins yesterday and is still owed his rematch from WrestleMania 30 he is naturally next in line for the title. ‘The Truth Reigns’ starts to play and Roman Reigns appears in the crowd. He says that yesterday was his title match and Rollins wormed his way into it and stole the title, so he wants to be the first to face Rollins for the title. ‘Next Big Thing’ hits and the crowd erupt but they’re soon disappointed when only Paul Heyman appears. Heyman says that his client Brock Lesnar should be the one to face Rollins, as he wants to invoke his rematch clause.

Stephanie grabs the microphone and says that before anyone else feels entitled to a match and come out they need to sort out whom the first challenger is. As she is about to announce something about Brock Lesnar, Rollins shakes his head at her with a scared face and she seems to change her mind. She says that seeing as Brock wouldn’t even show up in person to invoke his rematch he wont be getting one. Paul Heyman says that he would advise her to give Lesnar one because he doesn’t know how Brock will react seeing as he feels robbed of his title. Stephanie says that until Lesnar can be bothered to turn up he wont get a rematch and therefore next week Randy Orton and Roman Reigns will wrestle to determine the No.1 Contender for Rollins’ WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Orton and Reigns both stare at each other until returning backstage, while Heyman tries to plead for Lesnar’s rematch saying that he fears the worst for Stephanie and Triple H if Brock doesn’t get a rematch, Stephanie shrugs him off and as Heyman looks worried he says ‘I’m sorry for what’s going to happen to you’ before returning backstage.

Thursday Night SmackDown

02/04/2015 – Fresno, California
Broadcast Team: Byron Saxton, Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole
Ring Announcer: Eden
Backstage Interviewer: Renee Young

SmackDown starts with a small video package recapping the events of Monday Night Raw before the broadcast team announce that tonight in our main event the WWE Intercontinental Champion Daniel Bryan will be in action against one of his opponents from WrestleMania, Luke Harper. They also tell us that we can expect to hear Randy Orton’s thoughts on his no.1 contenders match against Roman Reigns on Raw this coming Monday.

Next we head to ringside as Eden announces Zack Ryder to the ring. Once he’s in the ring the lights go out and ‘Live in Fear’ starts to play. Bray Wyatt appears and makes his way to the ring for his match.

Match #1
Bray Wyatt vs. Zack Ryder
Singles Match

Zack Ryder gets a ‘woo, woo, woo’ chant going as the bell rings. He immediately runs at Wyatt and manages to hit him with a clothesline, flooring Wyatt in the process. While stomping on Wyatt he manages to force him into the corner and prepares to set up for the Broski Boot. As he approaches the corner, with his back to Wyatt, he turns around to find Wyatt in his signature Spider Walk. Ryder stumbles back into the corner in fear only to be met with a Body Avalanche. Falling to the floor, Wyatt hits Ryder with a running Senton followed by a Sister Abigail once Ryder’s on his feet.

Winner: Bray Wyatt @ 2:15s

Wyatt takes a microphone and begins to rant about how he isn’t just another of The Undertakers WrestelMania victims and that instead he’s a martyr and he inspires people. He claims that Bray Wyatt is reborn and is now a beacon of hope to the lost people in this world. He tells the WWE Universe to ‘follow the buzzards’ before propping up Ryder, kissing him on the Forehead and delivering another Sister Abigail.

We return to Byron Saxton, Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler who all claim that Bray Wyatt isn’t all there. They also tell us that Rusev will be in action next and he plans on sending John Cena a message.

Once we return to the Ring a local independent wrestler is in the ring dressed as Uncle Sam. Rusev’s music hits to a loud chorus of boo’s as both Rusev and Lana make their way to the ring. Rusev waves his Russian flag as usual.

Match #3
Rusev/ with Lana vs. Uncle Sam
Singles Match

As the Bell rings Rusev immediately hits his opponent with a Side Kick and quickly locks in the Accolade. Uncle Sam taps immediately.

Winner: Rusev @ 0:29s

Rusev refuses to release the hold and only does so when Lana signals for him to do so. The Russian flag drops down from the rafters and Rusev screams at the crowd in Russian while standing with one foot on Uncle Sam. The Crowd Boo’s heavily.

Once we return from a break ‘What’s Up?’ hits and R-Truth comes out and raps while making his way to the ring. ‘Rebel Son’ hits next as Bad News Barrett appears to a large chorus of boo’s. Jerry Lawler mentions how Barrett is facing Dolph Ziggler on Raw this coming Monday to determine the no.1 contender for Daniel Bryan’s Intercontinental Championship.

Match #3
Bad News Barrett vs. R-Truth
Singles Match

The Bell rings and both Barrett and R-Truth lock up. Truth manages to gain the upper hand and force Barrett to the canvas. He then shouts ‘what’s up?’ to a loud response from the crowd. This infuriates Barrett who attempts to hit R-Truth who dodges out of the way before hitting Barrett with a dropkick.

Barrett kicks out almost immediately. With Barrett grounded Truth goes for a Leg Drop but Barrett manages to avoid the impact before hitting Truth with a Clothesline. Cole notes how JBL would’ve been proud of it.

R-Truth kicks out and Barrett grows frustrated. He forces Truth to the ropes before hitting him with multiple Knee Lifts and then a Big Boot. Sending Truth out of the ring. Barrett raises his arm in the air and poses. The crowd boo him while the referee begins to count out Truth.

R-truth manages to get back into the ring before the 10 count. Barrett lets out a large moan before stomping away at R-Truth. He goes to the corner and climbs onto the second rope, raises his arms into the air and launches himself for an elbow drop. R-Truth manages to avoid it and immediately covers Barrett.

Barrett kicks out at the last second. Truth applies some rest holds to try and wear Barrett down and get the Pin. Barrett manages to power his way out of one of these rest holds and applies a single leg Boston crab to R-Truth. R-Truth manages to wriggle to the ropes and break the hold. Barrett stomps Truth on the ground and attempts successive pins, but R-Truth manages to kick out of them at the last moments. Barrett readies the Bull Hammer to finish off R-Truth when ‘Here to Show the World’ hits, Barrett runs to rope and R-Truth catches him with a School Boy roll up.

Barrett kicks out before immediately hitting R-Truth with the Bull Hammer.

Winner: Bad News Barrett @ 8:04s

Barrett grabs a microphone and says that cheap tricks won't help Dolph Ziggler gain an upper hand and that just like R-Truth, Ziggler’s got a Bull Hammer with his name on it. He then say’s that when he beats Ziggler on Monday, Bryan’s next and at Extreme Rules he will be the next Intercontinental Championship. Bad News Barrett makes his way backstage as the crowd boo’s him off. Michael Cole reminds us that we can see Bad News Barrett and Dolph Ziggler’s No.1 Contenders match next Monday.

Renee Young is backstage and introduces her guest Randy Orton. Orton says that on Monday he will face Roman Reigns to determine the new No.1 Contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He goes on to say that whoever wins the match will be a more worthy champion than Seth Rollins and there is no doubt in his mind that Rollins won’t leave Extreme Rules as the World Champion. When Young asks Orton how he feels about Brock Lesnar not being granted his rematch, Orton says that he had to wait a year for his and he’s sure Lesnar will get his rematch at somepoint. Renee thanks Orton for his time before Byron Saxton tells us that when we return from the break it’s time for the main event.

Luke Harper’s music starts to play and the announcers discuss Harper’s impressive performance at WrestleMania 31 this past Sunday. They particularly note the Powerbomb through the ladder that he delivered to Dean Ambrose and how we haven’t seen or heard from Ambrose since. ‘Flight of the Valkyries’ hits and the crowd erupt as the Intercontinental Champion Daniel Bryan enters the arena. The crowd chant along with Bryan until he reaches the ring.

Match #4
Daniel Bryan vs. Luke Harper
Singles Match

As the bell rings Daniel Bryan is able to gain the upper hand over Harper and delivers a number of light submission holds to Harpers arm. While working the arm he also utilizes a number of strikes on the arm to further weaken it down, all in preparation for the Yes Lock. As Bryan’s applying an Armbar Luke Harper is able to power out and begins to deliver a number of strikes to Bryan. Harpers attacks become increasingly vicious to the point where he starts to use Suplex’s and Body Slams. He attempts some quick covers but Bryan is able to kick out before the count of 3.

Harper uses his signature Gator Roll on Bryan and then forces him into the corner. There he delivers some vicious Knife Edge Chops before projecting of the ropes and delivering a vicious Big Boot to Bryan.

Bryan remains resilient and won’t stay down for the three count. With Bryan using the ropes to help him to his feet, Harper delivers a clothesline that sends Bryan over the top rope and out the ring. Harper then attempts a suicide dive, which Bryan is able to avoid as Harper flies into the barricade. Bryan crawls into the ring as the referee begins to count out Harper.

Harper manages to crawl back into the ring where he is met by repeated kicks to the chest by Bryan, who finishes this sequence by kicking Harper in the head.

Harper kicks out, much to the shock of Bryan. Bryan then begins to apply a number of submission holds, rest holds and strikes to Harpers arm, all in the hope of wearing it down. Just as Harper begins to gain momentum Bryan hits him with a Shining Wizard.

Harper once again kicks out and Bryan runs to the top rope while Harper’s down. As he climbs onto the top rope the crowd chant ‘Yes’ loudly just as Bryan launches himself in the air to deliver a Flying Goat. However, harper avoids this and covers Bryan.

Bryan is able to kick out but both men lay on the mat unable to move through exhaustion. As the ref begins to count both men somehow manage to return to their feet before they both take turns to hit each other with strong strikes. As neither man is able to gain the upper hand, Bryan launches himself off the ropes only to be hit by a Discuss Clothesline.

Somehow Bryan again kicks out and Harper heads towards the corner. As he begins to climb the turnbuckle the announce team ponder what Harper could be doing, and as he launches off the top rope he is caught in a Yes Lock by Bryan. The Crowd erupt as Harper resists the urge to tap, as the crowd chant yes Harper somehow finds the strength to reach the rope before the referee tells Bryan to release the hold, Bryan replies that he has until five, before releasing the hold. As Harper tries to return to his feet, holding his arm in the process, he turns around to be hit with Bryans Running High Knee.

Winner: Daniel Bryan @ 14:19s

A loud ‘Yes’ chant breaks out as Bryan begins to celebrate. Michael Cole states that Bryans sent a clear message to whoever faces him at Extreme Rules. Jerry Lawler replies that after seeing that he’d rather lose the No.1 Contenders match than step into the ring with the Intercontinental Champion. The show ends with Daniel Bryan leading the ‘Yes’ chants form the top rope.

Monday Night Raw

Backstage Interviewer: Renee Young

‘Roar of the Lion’
Both Rusev and Lana make their way to the ring to kick off this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. In the ring, Lana takes a microphone and begins to address the WWE Universe.

‘Last week on Raw, the ‘super athlete’ Rusev invoked his rematch clause against John Cena for a WWE United States Championship match at Extreme Rules’. She proceeds to speak over the crowd’s boo’s, ‘At Extreme Rules in 3 weeks time, Rusev will crush your conquering American hero, John Cena, and reclaim the prize that is rightfully his, the United States Championship’. The crowd continue to heavily boo Lana. Rusev in anger grabs the microphone from her.

‘Shut up you ignorant Americans! I am the ‘super athlete’ Alexander Rusev. All of you here have witnessed what I can do over the past year and come Extreme Rules I will crush your American hero! Once I have crushed Cena, I will submit him to the accolade and believe me when I say this, Cena will not be able to leave the arena standing. Then all of you American scum will really have something to boo about’.

Lana takes the microphone from Rusev while laughing. She further insults the crowd before stating in a serious manner that ‘in 3 weeks time Rusev will reclaim the United States Championship and once again it will be in the possession of mother Russia and her glorious leader Vladimir Putin’. The crowd’s boo’s continue to grow and they don’t falter as Rusev and Lana leave the ring.

Next, the announce team tell us what we can expect tonight on Monday Night Raw. Michael Cole reminds us that there are three no.1 contenders matches to determine the top contender for the Divas Championship, Intercontinental Championship and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Booker T reminds him not to forget about the two quarterfinal matches in the WWE Tag Team Championship no.1 contenders tournament and Damien Sandow’s return to singles action. JBL interjects and reminds them of the rumours that The Undertaker may be here to address his win over Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania!

‘Here to Show the Word’
The crowd erupt as Dolph Ziggler makes his way to the ring. JBL mentions the fact that last week on Raw, Bad News Barrett delivered a bullhammer to Ziggler after Triple H had personally asked him to make sure he beats Ziggler tonight and then take the Intercontinental Championship off of Daniel Bryan. Michael Cole responds by telling him that it’s no easy feat to defeat just Dolph Ziggler, let alone Ziggler and then subsequently Bryan.

‘Rebel Son’
Bad News Barrett appears from behind the curtain with a microphone in hand. ‘Last week Triple H entrusted me with the job to make sure that the Intercontinental Championship returns to someone that’s best for business. And because I greatly admire Triple H, not just as a boss but also as a great man, I’m going to make sure his wish becomes a reality. Therefore, Dolph Ziggler, I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news! Tonight you’re going to lose this match and I, Bad News Barrett am going to become the new no.1 contender for the WWE Intercontinental Championship’.

Match #1
Bad News Barrett vs. Dolph Ziggler
Singles Match to determine the No.1 Contender for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
Key Moment… During the match Barrett has become frustrated at Ziggler’s resilience and his own inability to get the 3 count. With Ziggler lay on the mat, and in a moment of thoughtlessness, he exits the ring and picks up a steel chair. He enters the ring and attempts to hit Ziggler with the chair, however the referee grabs the chair while it’s positioned over Barrett’s head, much to the crowd’s annoyance, as they clearly wanted Barrett to get himself disqualified. Barrett turns to the referee and hurls abuse at him. While doing this Ziggler’s gets back to his feet and attempts to hit Barrett with a dropkick. Barrett manages to avoid it and instead Ziggler strikes the referee, sending him out the ring.

Barrett not realising this rolls up Ziggler, but with no referee to count he releases the pin. He heads over to the ropes to try to find the missing referee. With his back turned Ziggler hits him with a zig-zag as the crowd elate, knowing Ziggler’s going to get the three count.

‘Written in my Face’
Sheamus comes running down the aisle and towards the ring. Booker T reminds everyone how we haven’t seen Sheamus in a long time. However his happiness soon turns sour when Sheamus hits Ziggler with a brogue kick. The crowd begin to realise what is happening and surrounded by their boo’s, Sheamus rolls Barrett on top of Ziggler and then helps the referee to his feet and into the ring.

Winner: Bad News Barrett @ 9:34s

With the crowd continuing to boo, Sheamus proceeds to help Barrett to his feet before raising his arm into the air, signalling his victory. The two then shake hands while JBL announces the new no.1 contender for the WWE Intercontinental Championship and tells us that we can see Daniel Bryan defend his Championship against Bad News Barrett in 3 weeks time at Extreme Rules. Michael Cole then criticises both Sheamus and Barrett for their lack of sportsmanship, before Booker T states that he’s sure Ziggler will have some kind of response for the two of them when he’s recovered.

Next up we head backstage to Renee Young who introduces her guest WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins who’s accompanied by only Joey Mercury. He has the World Championship over his shoulders and is wearing the same aviators from last week as well as a Prada polo shirt.

Renee asks Rollins about his World Championship victory at WrestleMania but before she can finish the question Jamie Noble enters with a chair. Rollins perches himself onto it before stating that the champion ‘doesn’t do interviews standing up, especially with this heavy championship on my shoulders weighing me down.’ J&J Security make a phoney sounding laugh, much to the delight of Rollins who cackles with them.

Renee re-asks the question and asks for Rollins thoughts on his victory.

‘Well Renee, everyone in the WWE Universe knew it was a forgone conclusion I’d walk out of WrestleMania as the champion because I’m naturally a winner. WWE Tag Team Championship, won, Money in the Bank, won, WWE World Heavyweight Championship, won. No doubt one day I’ll win the Intercontinental and Untied States Championship too and become a Triple Crown and Grand Slam Champion, why? Because I, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins am a winner.’

Renee attempts to ask another question but Rollins interrupts her.

‘Do you see these sunglasses, $350, do you see this Prada polo shirt, $500. Can you afford these sorts of things Renee?’

As Renee shakes her head Rollins raises his voice ‘it’s because you’re not a winner like me. You seen how hard I worked in that match at WrestleMania and how much effort I put in to win. That’s why I’m the WWE Champion and not Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar.’

Renee reminds Rollins that a majority of people think he wormed his way into the title match by having Kane help him win Money in the Bank and cashing in his contract when both Lesnar and Reigns had taken a gruelling amount of pain. Rollins again interrupts her.

‘What are you suggesting? That I’m not a worthy fighting champion, that I’m a coward?’

Renee tries to assure Rollins that she’s just repeating what others have said. Rollins storms up from his chair and gets into Renee’s face.

‘Next time you should choose your words wisely around the champion. I’ve got friends in high places and with a snap of my fingers (he snaps his fingers) you’d be gone and replaced in a moments notice. This interviews over!’

Rollins furiously walks off, closely followed by Mercury and Noble as Renee is left embarrassed after Rollins outburst.

‘Feed Me More’
As the new team of Ryback and Mark Henry make their way to the ring JBL asks whether Ryback and Henry will be able to wrestle effectively together due to their histories together? Booker T reminds him that when there’s a chance to win gold, even enemies can find common ground.

‘New Day, New Way’
The New Day is out next as we prepare for the first quarterfinal match in the WWE Tag Team Championship no.1 contenders tournament.

Match #2
Ryback and Mark Henry vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E/ with Xavier Woods)
WWE Tag Team Championship No.1 Contenders Tournament Quarterfinal Match
Key Moment… The new team of Henry and Ryback have been able to dominate most of the action from the beginning, but have been unable to put either Kingston or Big E away. While Henry has Big E grounded, both he and Ryback are distracted when Kane and Big Show appear on the stage. With a lack of concentration on the match, Big E manages to get a schoolboy pin on Henry and pick up the victory for his team.

Winners: The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E/ with Xavier Woods) @ 5:23s

While standing on the stage with Big Show, Kane begins to speak.

‘Mark, while I understand your annoyed that me and Big Show have cost you your match, you should know that The Authority has had on-going issues with Ryback. Therefore, while The Authority were nothing but altruistic in granting you the chance to compete in the tournament, you should’ve chosen a better partner because the ‘powers that be’ couldn’t allow Ryback to advance in the tournament and potentially win the Tag Team Championship. We’re sorry but this was your own doing. Choose a more suited partner next time, Ok?’ With the crowd booing, Kane and Big Show leave as Henry and Ryback look on angered.

Next we return backstage to Renee Young. She introduces her guest Roman Reigns and asks him how he’s feeling heading into his no.1 contender’s match tonight?

‘Tonight Renee, I’m 100% committed to becoming the new no.1 contender for Seth Rollins WWE World Heavyweight Championship. And trust me, when I become the top contender I’m going to take that championship off of Seth Rollins!’

However, when Renee asks how he feels about Brock Lesnar not receiving his title rematch Reigns replies by saying that ‘I couldn’t care less about Brock Lesnar or anyone else for that matter. I’m solely focused on tonight and you can believe that!’ before leaving the interview.

‘Break Away’
As we return to ringside Adam Rose makes his way to the ring with the Exotic Express. Booker T reminds us that it’s time for Damien Sandow’s return to singles action.

‘I Came to Play’
Damien Sandow makes his entrance still dressed as The Miz to a loud response.

Match #3
Adam Rose vs. Damien Sandow
Singles Match

Key Moment… Throughout the match Sandow panders to the crowd, making the most of the warm reception he’s receiving, while working away on Rose. After a brief change in momentum Adam Rose is able to mount some offence but Sandow manages to counter one of his attacks into a full nelson slam.

Winner: Damien Sandow @ 5:07s

Sandow continues to pander to the crowd while celebrating his victory but The Miz soon attacks him from behind. Miz manages to ground him and while continuing to attack him screams that Sandow’s ‘nothing without me’ and ‘I got you where you are today’. Soon the arena security have to come rushing to the ring to stop The Miz’s onslaught and drag him backstage. Michael Cole states that Miz’s attack was completely uncalled for and that he couldn’t have been surprised when Sandow turned on him at WrestleMania after the way he’d treated him in the previous months. JBL interjects stating that anybody would be angry if they were screwed out of winning a prestigious trophy such as the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal Trophy.

‘Rest in Peace’
The Austin crowd erupts at The Undertaker makes his way to the ring. Booker T excitedly states ‘there’s been rumours all week that he was here in Austin, looks like they’re true!’

The Undertaker enters the ring to loud ‘Undertaker’ chants. He appears as if he is about to speak but before he can utter a sound the arena lights go off.

Once they return on Bray Wyatt is standing in the ring face to face with the ‘phenom’. The crowd become agitated as an air of tension enters the arena. The Undertaker makes the first move as he strikes at his WrestleMania opponent. The two brawl for a short amount of time before Wyatt manages to gain the upper hand. He forces The Undertaker into a groggy state before delivering a Sister Abigail. He begins to taunt Undertaker signalling he’s going to deliver yet another Sister Abigail.

‘Out From the Shadows’
The crowd’s agitation quickly turns to adulation as Wyatt panics. He defiantly stares towards the ramp waiting for the arrival of the ‘vigilante’. Unbeknownst to Wyatt, but to the crowds delight, Sting enters the ring by dropping down from the rafters. Wyatt turns around to a beating from Sting, who manages to force Wyatt out of the ring and into retreat.

As the crowd cheer and with the threat of Wyatt gone, Sting makes his way over to the fallen Undertaker. He offers the ‘deadman’ his hand. Undertaker accepts and is helped to his feet by Sting. The two stare each other down as the crowd bust out positive chants. Inaudible words are shared between the two before Sting offers a handshake. The Undertaker accepts and the two legends shake hands to a tremendous pop.

However, the crowd’s cheers soon turn to boo’s when Sting transitions the Undertaker into position for a scorpion death drop and delivers the move. As Undertaker lay on the mat, not moving, the arena lights once again go out. Once they come back on The Undertaker lay on his own in the middle of the ring surrounded by the shocked faces of the Austin crowd.

We return to the announce team who ponder what just happened with Michael Cole asking why Sting would attack The Undertaker like that? Booker T replies by saying that surely Sting must explain his actions in the coming weeks? JBL says that while the WWE Universe need an answer from him the show must continue because it’s time for the WWE Divas Championship no.1 contenders match.

‘Light it Up’
AJ Lee makes her way to the ring as Michael Cole says that she must surely be the favourite tonight seeing as she’s a 3 time Divas Champion and due to the fact she lost her title to Nikki Bella all the way back at Survivor Series after Brie Bella distracted her she must be seeking revenge against the Bella’s.

‘Stars in the Night’
As Paige makes her way to the ring JBL points out that you can’t count out Paige in this match. He claims that because she’s already a 2 time Divas Champion by the young age of 22 she’s clearly a natural born winner and will somehow find a way to pick up the win tonight.

‘Somebody Call My Momma’
Booker T states that unlike his announce partners, Naomi’s his pick tonight. He notes how she’s always wanted to become the Divas Champion but she’s always fell short and how he thinks that tonight will be the first step towards her winning her first WWE gold.

Match #4
AJ Lee vs. Paige vs. Naomi
Triple Threat Match to determine the No. 1 Contender for the WWE Divas Championship

Key Moment… With the upper hand in the match Paige sends Naomi outside of the ring and floors AJ Lee. Sensing an opportunity to take Naomi out of the match she heads for the top rope. Her attempt, however, ultimately fails as Naomi avoids her diving crossbody leaving Paige to hit the outside ring area, taking herself out of the match for the time being.

Key Moment… With Paige out of the match AJ later tries to wear down Naomi’s arm so she can lock in the black widow submission. To help her achieve this goal she applies an armbar hold but is forced to break it by the referee when Naomi reaches the rope.

As Naomi makes her way back to her feet, AJ projects herself off of the ropes but Naomi is able to leapfrog over her and avoid the attack. As AJ projects off of the opposite rope she is met with a rear view from Naomi. However, before Naomi gets the chance to cover her Paige darts into the ring and hits her with a side kick, covering AJ herself.

Winner: Paige @8:37s

Naomi looks on frustrated as Paige celebrates picking up the win. The broadcast team announce her as the new no.1 contender for the Divas Championship and inform us that we can see her face Nikki Bella in the title match at Extreme Rules in 3 weeks time. They then also inform us that it’s time for the second quarterfinal match in the tag team tournament.

‘Ole Ole’
Los Matadores make their signature entrance with El Torito as the announce team run down the remaining participants in the tournament.

‘Lucha Lucha’
The Lucha Dragons are out next and on their way to the ring they manage to get a large ‘lucha’ chant going.

Match #5
Los Matadores (Diego and Fernando/with El Torito) vs. The Lucha Dragons (Sin Cara and Kalisto)
WWE Tag Team Championship No.1 Contenders Tournament Quarterfinal Match

Key Moment… After a fairly even bout Diego currently has the upper hand in the match for his team. Sin Cara manages to find an opening and is able to tag in Kalisto, who proceeds to hit Diego with a springboard hurricanrana on Diego. He follows this up by hitting Fernando with a super kick and sending him off the apron. He then dodges one of Diego’s attacks before hitting him with an enzuigiri and then rolling up his groggy opponent.

Winners: The Lucha Dragons (Sin Cara and Kalisto) @6:27s

As the Lucha Dragons celebrate their victory we go backstage to Renee Young who introduces her guest, the no.1 contender for the Divas Championship, Paige. She asks Paige for her thoughts following her win earlier tonight?

‘I’m ecstatic Renee. After Naomi dodged that crossbody I thought for sure my chances were gone but I managed to bide my time and I struck at the perfect moment to pick up the win.’

Renee then informs Paige that some of the other women in the locker room are suggesting that she stole Naomi’s win.

‘Renee, when your in a match with more than one competitor you should always keep your guard up and check where your opponents are before making a pin. These sort of things come with experience and Naomi’s a great competitor so I’m sure she wont make that mistake again.’

Renee thanks Paige for her time but she interjects.

‘Wait, I do have a request. Seeing as Raw is live from London next week, which everyone knows is the capital of my home country. I would officially like to ask for my title match next week live on Monday Night Raw in London. Nikki Bella claims she’s a fighting champions so no doubt she wouldn’t mind defending it on short notice.’

We then return to the announce team who inform us that they’ll try to get further information on whether Paige’s request will be accepted but right now its time for tonight’s main event!

Randy Orton makes his way to the ring for tonight’s main event as the announcers compare the two competitors and make judgments on how the match is going to go.

‘The Truth Reigns’
Roman Reigns is next out as the broadcast team remind us that one of these two men will be facing WWE World heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in a title match at Extreme Rules. They also mention how we could very well be seeing the next WWE World Heavyweight Champion in action tonight!

Match #6
Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns
Singles Match to determine the No.1 Contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Key Moment… In a moment away from the action Michael Cole announces that Paige’s request for her title match next has been accepted. Therefore, next week live on Monday Night Raw from London, Nikki Bella will defend her Divas Championship against Paige.

Key Moment… After a gruelling match both men lay on the mat trying to regain enough energy to put the other away. After both men have used the ropes as leverage to get back to their feet they begin to trade punches in the middle of the ring. Neither man can gain an advantage, so they both project themselves off the ropes. Reigns comes off better by delivering one of his signature superman punches to Orton.

Orton somehow manages to kick out, much to Reigns’ disbelief. Wanting to out the ‘viper’ away he heads to the corner and signals for a spear. He launches himself at Orton, who dodges, and immediately hits Reigns with a DDT after a gut kick. Both men lay statically on the mat as the crowd try to encourage them to their feet.

‘Next Big Thing’
The arena comes to life as both Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman make their way to the ring. Once they enter the ring Lesnar immediately knock the referee unconscious, much to Heyman’s delight. Reigns, who has managed to get to his feet by this point, is immediately hauled onto Lesnar’s shoulders and hit with an F-5. This same fate befalls Orton shortly after.

Winner: No Contest @ 14:11s

With Both Orton and Reigns out cold, Heyman takes a microphone.

‘Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Paul Heyman and I am the advocate for the ‘Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar!’

‘Last week Brock Lesnar personally asked me to remain in San Jose, while he returned home for important business, and invoke his rematch clause for a championship match at Extreme Rules for him. But apparently to Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, he doesn’t get one because he wasn’t there in person! What kind of joke of a company are you running here? Where a person who is entitled to a rematch doesn’t get one because he had important business to see too. No. This didn’t sit right with me, but more importantly it didn’t sit right with Brock Lesnar.’

‘So, this is what Brock Lesnar told me. He told me that until he gets his rematch for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, a title he was never pinned or submitted for might I add, there will be no other challengers for that title. Therefore, The Authority can book as many no.1 contenders matches as they like, the result that you see before you will befall all of those matches. Because of this I implore The Authority to make the right call and grant Brock Lesnar his rematch for Extreme Rules live on Monday Night Raw next week because that would be what’s best for business.’

Heyman throws the microphone to the ground and he and Lesnar leave the ring to end this week’s edition Monday Night Raw.
