November was all about building towards the 27th annual Survivor Series for the WWE, the main storyline going into the pay per view was that the main event would be a traditional Five versus Five Survivor Series elimination match pitting a team lead by Daniel Bryan against a team lead by his nemesis and the WWE Champion “The Viper” Randy Orton.
The feud between Bryan and Orton was ongoing and very personal as Orton chosen as the face of the WWE by COO Triple H had ruined Daniel Bryan’s dream of being the WWE Champion, on the November 8th edition of Smackdown Bryan seemed to get one over Orton and Triple H when he beat Shield members Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in a two on one handicap match to earn one more WWE Championship shot at Orton the next week on Raw, that next Monday on the 11th November edition of Monday Night Raw Randy Orton successfully defended the WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan in a Steel Cage Match with a lot of help from “The Game” Triple H who once again did everything in his power to screw Bryan out of the title, a few days later on Smackdown Triple H raised the stakes even more saying that it Team Bryan lost to Team Orton at Survivor Series then Daniel Bryan would be fired from the WWE, now not only was Bryan trying to pick team mates to win he was picking team mates to help save his WWE career.
Over the next episodes Bryan chose a team consisting of Dolph Ziggler, Christian, Cody Rhodes and Kofi Kingston while Orton added The Shield and The Big Show to his dream team, Triple H would try and put a spanner in the works for Team Bryan constantly asking Bryan’s team mates whether they actually wanted to help Bryan win at Survivor Series because if he got fired it may open up WWE Championship opportunities for them.
On the 18th November go home Raw show before the Survivor Series Daniel Bryan was given one last match with Randy Orton by Triple H, it was non-title but in Triple H’s words it was Bryan’s last chance to salvage some pride before he gets fired on Sunday, Daniel Bryan beat Randy Orton clean in an epic match that drew the biggest Raw rating of November a 6.85, after the match The Shield and Big Show came out to ambush Daniel Bryan but Bryan’s team of Ziggler, Christian, Rhodes and Kingston came out to make the save and the show closed out with a all out brawl between Team Bryan and Team Ziggler, the brawl would be repeated on the 22nd of November Smackdown after Orton and Big Show beat Bryan and Rhodes in a tag team match with Triple H bending the rules as the self appointed special guest referee.

The other big matches leading into The Survivor Series was a World Championship match between champion Rob Van Dam and Alberto Del Rio, Del Rio had a rematch clause he decided to exercise at the pay per view and Del Rio did his best all month to try and weaken Van Dam before there pay per view match, this culminated at a contract signing on the November 11th edition of Raw when Alberto Del Rio low blowed RVD and then tried to break his arm with a cross arm breaker, RVD would carry the injury and work through it all the way up to Survivor Series but was now going into the World Title match as the underdog thanks the damage done by Del Rio.
CM Punk’s feud with Paul Heyman went up a notch when Heyman set Ryback on Punk on the 4th November edition of Raw and Ryback left Punk a bloody mess, the next week on Raw a bruised Punk demanded Triple H give him Ryback at Survivor Series in a no holds barred match and Triple H thought it was good for business so granted Punk his wish.
Rey Mysterio returned to the WWE after a long injury lay off on the 1st November edition of Smackdown but was viciously attacked by Mr Money in the Bank Damien Sandow, the next week on Raw Mysterio called Sandow out and said if Sandow had the guts he would face Mysterio in a match and put his brief case containing a World Title shot on the line? Sandow kept ducking the challenge every week but eventually the match was made for Survivor Series by Raw General Manager Brad Maddox.
Kane returned on the 4th November edition of Raw in explosive fashion taking out the whole Wyatt family with a series of choke slams, Stephanie McMahon bowed to Kane’s pressure to make it him versus Bray Wyatt at Survivor Series and the intense feud between the two hit a new level days before the Survivor Series on Smackdown when The Wyatt Family ambushed Kane in the ring, tied him to a symbol and had him lifted high above the ring where the Wyatt Family carried out what looked like a sacrifice of Kane’s soul, nobody knew whether Kane would show up at Survivor Series or not or what state the “Big Red Monster” would be in.
Other events prior to Survivor Series saw Cody Rhodes beat Dean Ambrose for the United States Championship on the 8th November edition of Smackdown and Fandango win a Fatal Four Way match to earn a Intercontinental Championship shot at Curtis Axel at Survivor Series.

27th annual Survivor Series kicked off with a traditional five on five Survivor Series elimination tag team match pitting the team of Wade Barrett, William Regal, “The Real American’s and Drew Mcintyre versus the team of The Miz joined by Santino Marella and De-Generation X legends The New Age Outlaws and X-Pac, the match ended up as a 3 on 1 as Miz was the only survivor left on his team as he heroically battled Barrett, Swagger and Cesaro, Miz pinned and eliminated both the Real American’s but lost the match to Wade Barrett after the already eliminated William Regal interfered in the match, Wade Barrett was the sole survivor.

The next match was a WWE Divas Championship match that saw a huge upset as Tamina Snuka beat A.J Lee to become the new Divas Champion leaving A.J to have a tantrum unlike any seen before.

We then saw Curtis Axel flanked by Paul Heyman defending his Intercontinental Championship against Fandango, Axel dominated most of the match but when he got distracted by the dancing of Fandango’s valet Summer Rae, Fandango took advantage and rolled Axel up for the three count to win the intercontinental Championship, Axel and Heyman were in shock as Fandango and the crowd danced in celebration.

We then saw a squash match as Big E Langston destroyed Justin Gabriel in a minute flat.

It was then time for Rey Mysterio versus Damien Sandow with Sandow’s Money In The Bank briefcase on the line, it was a great match with many near falls as Rey had Sandow clinging on to his briefcase on many occasions but in the end Sandow used powder to the eyes of Rey while the ref was down to gain an advantage and win the match, Sandow was still MR Money in the Bank.

We then saw an all out war between CM Punk and Ryback, this was no holds barred and personal after Ryback’s vicious attack on Punk earlier in the month and this brawl went all over the arena even into the parking lot where Ryback power bombed Punk through a car window screen, late in the match Paul Heyman tried to get involved and got a GTS from Punk for his troubles and then just when it looked like Ryback had Punk beat, Punk countered a Ryback meat hook to lock Ryback into the Anaconda Vice and Ryback had no choice but to tap out and give CM Punk the victory.

It was now time for the World Heavyweight CHampionship match as Rob Van Dam faced Alberto Del Rio, all the talk going into the match was about RVD's arm injured at the hands of Del Rio weeks earlier and Del Rio took full advantage of this in the match constantly exposing and working on it to grind RVD down, the match looked over when Del Rio locked in the cross arm breaker but somehow RVD edged close enough to the ropes to get a hand out and break the hold, Del Rio was in control but when he got cocky and went up top for a shooting star press he missed and RVD took advantage somehow climbing to the top turnbuckle with one arm and nailing Del Rio with a Five Star Frog Splash, RVD got the three count and walked out of Survivor Series still the World Heavyweight Champion.

It was now time for Kane versus Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family got a shock when despite being sacrificed on Smackdown two nights ago Kane showed up ready to fight, the match went back and forth until the rest of The Wyatt Family jumped Kane in the ring and causing the match to be called off and The Wyatt Family started an all out gang assault on Kane this was until the lights went out and the crowd went crazy as The Undertaker returned to the WWE, Taker made a beeline for the ring and Kane and Taker cleared house on The Wyatt Family who looked in shock, Undertaker had returned at the event where his journey begun and The Brothers of Destruction had reunited in the face of The Wyatt Family.

It was now main event time, a traditional Survivor Series five on five elimination match pitting Team Bryan (Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Christian, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston) versus Team Orton (Randy Orton (WWE Champion), The Shield, The Big Show) the stipulation made by the COO Triple H was that if Daniel Bryan’s team lost he would be fired from the WWE on the spot.
This was a great classic Survivor Series match and the stakes could not have been any higher, the match went 40 minutes and by the 30 minute mark we were down to Bryan and Ziggler versus Orton, Show and Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler eliminated Ambrose after a super kick but while he celebrated Big Show nailed Ziggler with a choke slam eliminating him which left Daniel Bryan fighting for his career against Randy Orton and Big Show while Triple H looked on at ringside loving what he was seeing, Bryan was taking a beating but when Orton stopped Big Show choke slamming Bryan so he could RKO Bryan instead Big Show got upset and shoved Orton out of the ring, Bryan took advantage by rolling up Big Show and somehow used the ropes to get a three count and eliminate the Giant, it was now down to Bryan and Orton, both men went at it hammer and tong but when Triple H got involved with the referee down and hit Bryan with a pedigree the match and Bryan’s WWE career looked over but somehow Bryan kicked out when Orton pinned him shocking the WWE Champion and Triple H, Bryan rallied and head butted Triple H off the ring apron, Bryan then countered an RKO locking in a cross face on Orton, Bryan had the WWE Champion right where he wanted him and in the end after a huge struggle Orton tapped out and against all odds Daniel Bryan had saved his WWE career, the crowd celebrated with a huge YES YES YES chant as the rest of Team Bryan came out to lift Daniel Bryan into the air and celebrate his victory, Triple H and Orton looked on in shock not believing that Daniel Bryan had just pulled off the impossible.

The night after Survivor Series on Monday Night Raw went a long way to setting up the storylines for the next month, the show kicked off with Mick Foley making a special appearance and calling out Raw General Manager Brad Maddox, Foley said that Maddox bores him that Maddox is wasting his career being the McMahon families yes man and that Foley does not want that for Maddox he wants Maddox to make an impact like Foley did when he was the WWE Commissioner, Foley says back in 2000 around this time of year he made a decision it was a decision that cost him his job but also a decision that made his tenure as an authority figure go down in history and that was to make a 6 man Hell in a Cell Match for the WWE Championship that would go down in history as one of the greatest pay per view main events of all time, Foley says Armageddon is around the corner and the fans wanna see Maddox grow a pair so Foley begs him to make a six man Hell in a Cell match at Armageddon for the WWE Championship and let all hell break loose because that’s what the WWE Universe want him to do, the crowd urge Maddox on and Maddox gets swept away with the crowd and makes the match at Armageddon Randy Orton will defend the WWE Championship against five other superstars inside a Hell in a Cell, Foley then announced that later that night he would host a celebration party for Daniel Bryan.
After the announcement COO Triple H and Orton are furious and Triple H tells Maddox that if Orton does not leave that Hell in a Cell the WWE Champion then Maddox will be fired.
Triple H was not in a good mood after the events of the night before and he and Stephanie called Big Show out to let him know that it was Show’s ego that cost Team Orton last night and is the reason Daniel Bryan still has a job, Stephanie then went on to say that Big Show had let down the McMahon’s, himself and his family, Stephanie said she was left with no choice but to fire Big Show, she then has security come an escort a crying Big Show out of the arena.
Talking of blame Paul Heyman was also ready to dish out the blame after a disastrous night at Survivor Series which had seen Curtis Axel lose the Intercontinental Championship to Fandango and Ryback lose to CM Punk, Heyman told Axel that if he did not win his rematch against Fandango for the IC Title later in the night that there business relationship would be over, as for Ryback, Heyman said Ryback had proven he was not worthy of having Heyman at his side last night so Heyman had to solve that problem tonight, Heyman points at the stage and outcomes Brock Lesnar, the beast incarnate comes to the ring and F-5’s Ryback not once but three times, Heyman had cut Ryback loose and Ryback was carried out on a stretcher and was not written off of WWE TV for a while to be repackaged.
Later in the night Lesnar backed Brad Maddox into a corner and forced Maddox to put him in the WWE Championship Hell in a Cell match at Armageddon and then after that just the mere presence of Lesnar at ringside helped Curtis Axel regain the Intercontinental Championship from Fandango.
Paul Heyman also talked of his plans to build a Dangerous Alliance and attempted to bring The Miz into the fold, Miz turned down Heyman’s advances saying he did not trust Heyman.
In other events on Raw A.J beat Tamina Snuka to regain the WWE Divas Championship just 24 hours after losing the belt and William Regal officially announced himself as the new manager of Wade Barrett helping Barrett beat The Miz.
The Brothers of Destruction Undertaker and Kane called out The Wyatt Family who answered the call but when Taker and Kane invited them into the ring to fight The Wyatt Family backed off and retreated for the first time in there WWE lifes, was it fear? Or did The Wyatt’s have a greater plan to conquer the Brothers of destruction?
Mick Foley’s celebration party for Daniel Bryan was being enjoyed by the whole WWE Universe until Triple H sent out The Shield to ambush and beat down Bryan and Foley, with Bryan down and out Triple H then announced right there and then Bryan would go one on one with the WWE Champion Randy Orton, Bryan was a sitting duck for Orton to toy with and Orton soon put Bryan out of his misery pinning him after a devastating RKO, post match back came Foley to try and attack Orton but back came The Shield and Triple H and the show ended with Foley and Daniel Bryan left laid out in the ring destroyed by Triple H and his new Corporation.

The big business news for the WWE was two huge contract signings, both WWE legends Chris Jericho and The Undertaker both signed new deals to remain with the WWE foe the foreseeable future, both Jericho and Undertaker were not full time workers and not currently being used on TV but both deals being signed was seen as a big positive by WWE Management keen to keep hold of there big box office stars they could still draw on for the big events, Jericho signed a one year extension and was rumored to be committed to returning to TV around the Royal Rumble and working a big program up to a match a Wrestlemania 30, The Undertaker who returned to WWE TV just weeks after signing his new two year contract at The Survivor Series has signed a deal that included at least one more Wrestlemania match where he would put his unbeaten Wrestlemania streak on the line, many backstage believed this match perhaps Undertaker’s final with the company would be at Wrestlemania 30 in March 2014 and possible opponents being banded around were huge names such as The Rock, Brock Lesnar and John Cena.
Another big news story in November was the WWE naming Hall of Famer Jim Ross as the new head booker of the NXT development plant, Ross’s days as a WWE play by play guy were long gone but Triple H had used his new found power in the back to make sure that JR’s skills and experience were not lost and he saw Ross as the perfect man to groom the stars of tomorrow, Ross began work as full time head booker of NXT in mid November charged with producing some great young talents ready to make the jump to the WWE main roster in 2014.

Early December was all about the short but explosive build up to the Armageddon Pay Per View that would host the first WWE Championship six man Hell in a Cell match since the year 2000.
Brad Maddox had made the match on the advice of Mick Foley and heading into the last Smackdown of November it was all about who would be inside that Hell in A Cell on December 15th challenging Randy Orton for the WWE Championship?

Thanks to his bullying of Brad Maddox on Raw Brock Lesnar was already in the match of course along with the champion Orton but the four other places inside the cell were still to be decided and Raw General Manager Brad Maddox made a surprise visit to Smackdown at the order of COO Triple H to let everybody know that from now on the WWE Superstars were going to have to earn their spot in the cell and earn their shot at Randy Orton’s WWE Championship.
Maddox made four matches for that night on Smackdown where the winners would qualify to enter the six man Armageddon Hell in a Cell match, The first superstar to qualify was Shield member and United States Champion Dean Ambrose as he beat The Miz, after the match Paul Heyman once again tried to get The Miz to become a member of his Dangerous Alliance but again Miz rejected saying he could not trust Paul Heyman, next to qualify was Dolph Ziggler after he beat Jack Swagger and then CM Punk beat Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel to qualify but post match was attacked and given an F-5 by “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar who came through the crowd, earlier in the night WWE Champion Randy Orton who was still furious he had to defend the WWE Championship inside Hell in a Cell at Armageddon was confronted by Lesnar in the ring who told Orton in no uncertain terms that it would be Lesnar walking out of Hell in a Cell the new WWE Champion.

The December 2nd edition of Monday Night Raw kicked off with a promo from “The Show Off” Dolph Ziggler who stated how much he was looking forward to winning his first WWE Championship inside Hell in a Cell at Armageddon, Ziggler’s promo did not last long as he was viciously attacked by Brock Lesnar with Paul Heyman at his side, the beaten Ziggler took was so brutal he had to be carried out of the arena on a stretcher, WWE Champion Randy Orton was unsettled by Lesnar’s actions and demanded WWE COO Triple H do something to protect his Champion, Triple H had security remove Lesnar from the building and “The Game” added that Lesnar was now banned from the WWE until the night of Hell in a Cell at Armageddon, if Lesnar broke that order he would lose his place inside the Cell, Triple H also tried to appease Orton by making it CM Punk VS Daniel Bryan one on one that night, Punk and Bryan’s main event match was a match of the year contender until we were robbed of a finish when WWE Champion Randy Orton came out of nowhere to deliver RKO’s to both Punk and Bryan.

On the December 6th edition of Smackdown Daniel Bryan and CM Punk teamed up to face Randy Orton and Dean Ambrose, before the match Orton had made it clear to his Shield partner Dean Ambrose that at Armageddon Ambrose was inside the Hell in a Cell to have Orton’s back and nothing else.
Orton and Ambrose went on to beat Punk and Bryan after interference from the rest of The Shield and COO Triple H.
On the December 9th last Raw before Armageddon Raw General Manager Brad Maddox came out and said his job was on the line if Hell in a Cell went wrong so Maddox had made the decision to appoint a Special Guest referee inside Hell in a Cell at Armageddon to keep control, Triple H did not look impressed and was even less impressed when the guest referee was introduced as John Cena, Cena who had been out months with an elbow injury was back and Cena assured Maddox, Triple H and the WWE Universe that Hell in a Cell at Armageddon would be called right down the line because of the respect Cena has for the WWE Championship, Maddox gives Cena chance to prove it that night in guest ref in a non-title match between CM Punk and WWE Champion Randy Orton.
Before that main event Brock Lesnar came live from via satellite and despite being banned from the WWE Universe until Armageddon told everybody in no uncertain terms that is was just a matter of time before he was the new WWE Champion, Lesnar guarantees Hell for his five victims at Armageddon.
In the Raw main event CM Punk beat WWE Champion Randy Orton with John Cena acting as special guest referee after a GTS but post match Dolph Ziggler who had been viciously beaten down by Brock Lesnar the week before entered the ring and super kicked both Punk and Orton, Ziggler then picked up the WWE Championship belt and held it aloft staking his claim to be the new WWE Champion at Armageddon.

The final show before Armageddon was the December 13th edition of Smackdown, the show started off with a heated confrontation between COO Triple H and his face of the WWE and WWE Champion “The Viper Randy Orton, Orton said it was Triple H’s fault he was going in to a six man Hell in a Cell match Sunday at Armageddon with the decks stacked against him, it was Triple H who gave Brad Maddox power to mess things up so if Orton did not leave Armageddon with his WWE Championship intact Orton would hold Triple H responsible, Triple H tried to calm Orton and made a main event to help Orton’s odds for Sunday at Armageddon, the team of Daniel Bryan, CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler would go three on three with The Shield tonight, Orton was happy with that but was later frustrated when John Cena walked in to Triple H’s office and revealed he had been sent to Smackdown tonight by Brad Maddox to be special guest referee in whatever main event Triple H had made, The six man tag main event was a great match that had the crowd jacked and Daniel Bryan won it for his team by pinning Seth Rollins of The Shield, but post match outcome Orton and Triple H and with The Shield they ambushed and outnumbered Bryan, Punk and Ziggler, Guest ref John Cena decided he had seen enough and tried to even the numbers but after a beat down from The Shield Orton gave RKO’S to Ziggler, Punk and Bryan and then even gave an RKO to John Cena who would be the referee inside Hell in a Cell on Sunday, Orton stood above a pile of bodies as he held the WWE Championship aloft and sent out a bullish message of defiance heading into Armageddon.

Other feuds heading into Armageddon continued with Alberto Del Rio getting himself another shot at Rob Van Dam and the World Heavyweight Championship, on the December 2nd edition of Raw Del Rio attacked RVD backstage with an ambush that ended up in the parking lot where Del Rio put RVD cold out with a steel pipe shot to the head, on the December 6th edition of Smackdown General Manager Vickie Guerrero informed Alberto Del Rio that RVD had asked her to sanction RVD versus Del Rio at Armageddon for the World Heavyweight Championship in an ECW Rules match, on the December 13th edition go home edition of Smackdown days before the Armageddon pay per view Rob Van Dam returned to attack Del Rio ECW style and give him a glimpse of what their match would be like in 48 hours time at Armageddon.

The feud between “The Brothers of Destruction” Undertaker and Kane and The Wyatt Family was getting more intense by the day, on the December 2nd edition of Monday night Raw Undertaker and Kane came out and challenged The Wyatt Family to a Hell in a Cell match at Armageddon, in a handicap match 3 on 2 in The Wyatt Family’s favor? Undertaker says he wants to make The Wyatt Family famous inside Hell in a Cell but the lights go out and when they come back on all three member of The Wyatt Family are ambushing Kane and Undertaker in the ring, despite putting up a fight the numbers game wins and The Wyatt Family leave “The Brothers of Destruction” down and out, Bray Wyatt then grabs a microphone and simply says we accept your invitation to Hell.

The next week on the December 9th edition of Raw Undertaker and Kane were back with revenge on their mind but when they went after The Wyatt Family the Wyatt’s dispersed into the crowd and wanted none of “The Brother’s of Destruction” Undertaker told The Wyatt’s they could run tonight but at Armageddon there would be nowhere to run inside the devil’s playground.
On the December 13th edition of Smackdown two nights before Armageddon we saw a video package from The Wyatt Family where Bray Wyatt talks of Armageddon being destiny, being the fate of his family to end the dominance of “The Brothers of Destruction” Bray Wyatt says Undertaker and Kane cannot take the souls of a family that never had a soul in the first place, Bray says The Wyatt’s have accepted an invitation to Hell but not for the first time they will walk out of hell alive and well.

Early December also saw The Miz finally turn heel and join Paul Heymans Dangerous Alliance, and R-Truth and Kofi Kingston earned a WWE Tag Team Championship shot at Armageddon after winning a four team elimination match on the December 2nd RAW.
Rey Mysterio would enter into a feud with Zeb Colter and his Real American’s Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro leading to Smackdown General Manager Vickie Guerrero making it Mysterio VS Swagger at Armageddon.

The Armageddon pay per view on December 15th 2013 was one of the most anticipated WWE events in a while due to two huge Hell in a Cell matches which had been given a great build up in the weeks leading up, the first would see The Wyatt Family go three on two against “The Brothers of Destruction” Undertaker and Kane inside the Cell and then in the main event Randy Orton would step inside the devils playground to defend his WWE Championship against CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar with the guest referee locked inside Hell in a Cell would be John Cena.

The pay per view kicked off with The Shield (Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns) defending the WWE Tag Team Championships against number one contenders Kofi Kingston and R-Truth, this was a great tag team match that saw Kingston and Truth come close to capturing the titles on more then one occasion but in the end a spear from Roman Reigns on Kingston meant the Shield scored the victory and left Armageddon still the tag team champions.

The next match was a fatal four way match for the WWE Divas Championship as A.J Lee defended her title against Tamina Snuka, Kaitlyn and Layla, this was a short but entertaining match as A.J retained her Divas Championship by pinning Layla after a roll up.

It was then time for Rey Mysterio versus Jack Swagger, this feud had come about due to Zeb Colter and his “Real Americans” Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro taking a dislike to the way the American people loved Mysterio but booed them, it was a fantastic match between Mysterio and Swagger as Rey finally looked to have a step back in his game after so long on the injury shelf, Mysterio won the match after a West Coast Pop put Swagger down for the three count but post match Antonio Cesaro and Zeb Colter got involved and Mysterio was left beaten up by “The Real Americans” despite being victorious on the night.

Next up was Wade Barrett versus Cody Rhodes, this match had come about after Rhodes beat Barrett 48 hours prior on Friday Night Smackdown and at Armageddon Wade Barrett did get his revenge by beating Rhodes but only after interference from his new Manager William Regal.

Next it was time for the first Hell in a Cell match of the evening pitting The Wyatt Family in a three on two handicap match against “The Brothers of Destruction” Undertaker and Kane, this match was just an all out war as Taker and Kane battled against the numbers game, the match took a whole new swerve when Luke Harper cut the cell open with bolt cutter and the entire Wyatt Family escaped the Cell and climbed onto its roof, they invited Undertaker and Kane to join them on top of the Cell and Taker and Kane did not wait long to start climbing up, once on top the crowd were going crazy as these five men battled it out 25 feet up in the air and then came the moment the crowd were baying for, Undertaker had promised he would make The Wyatt Family famous tonight and “The Deadman” kept his word by choke slamming Bray Wyatt off the top of the Hell in a Cell and through the announce table below, after minutes of medical staff attending to Bray Wyatt the action got under way again inside the Cell now two on two with Bray Wyatt out of the picture and being stretched away, it did not take long for The Brother’s Of Destruction to finish it after that Undertaker Tombstoning Luke Harper to get the three count and Undertaker and Kane had made The Wyatt Family famous at Armageddon.

The next match saw Paul Heyman’s “Dangerous Alliance” duo of Curtis Axel and Miz take on and beat The Uso’s in a tag team match, after the match Miz and Axel beat down The Uso’s further egged on by Paul Heyman who then advised every superstar in the back to be scared of “The Dangerous Alliance”.

It was now time for the World Heavyweight Championship “ECW Rules” match between Champion Rob Van Dam and Alberto Del Rio, this was a great way to end a heated feud, a anything goes brawl that went throughout the arena, into the crowd and had both men pushed to the limits physically, Del Rio slammed RVD through a table, RVD hit a flying elbow off the top to the outside sending Del Rio crashing through the Spanish announce table but in the end it was an amazing Van Daminator with a steel chair that put Del Rio out and allowed Van Dam to cover him for the three count and retain the World Championship but as RVD was celebrating out came Damian Sandow and Sandow shocked everyone by cashing in his “Money in the Bank” briefcase right there and then on Rob Van Dam, RVD was tired and injured but he did his best to fight off Sandow but just when it looked like RVD would pull off the impossible and beat Sandow as well, Alberto Del Rio low blowed RVD from behind and Sandow rolled RVD up for the three count and Damian Sandow was the new World Heavyweight Champion as the crowd could not believe what they had just seen.

It was now main event time a six man Armageddon Hell in a Cell match for the WWE Championship with John Cena the special guest referee trapped inside with six of the baddest WWE Superstars in history, could Randy Orton defy the odds and retain his WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, CM Punk and Brock Lesnar?
The match was non-stop brutal as the unforgiving Cell showed no mercy on its victims, there were a number of huge moments in the match including Brock Lesnar F-5-ing everyone in the match but when it looked like he was about to become the new WWE Champion CM Punk kicked out and Lesnar showed his frustration by giving another F-5 this time to the guest referee John Cena, Cena would later get one back on Lesnar by refusing to count a Lesnar pin fall on Orton and then delivering an F-U to Lesnar almost allowing Randy Orton to escape the Cell with his WWE Title in tact but Daniel Bryan broke up the pin.
We saw the relationship in the cell between Randy Orton and Dean Ambrose break down when Ambrose decided he wanted to win the WWE Championship and stop taking hits for Orton, Dolph Ziggler put in an epic performance in the match and CM Punk had a night of frustration coming close to leaving with the title on more then one occasion.
In the end the match ended in chaos, CM Punk gave a GTS to Dean Ambrose but then Punk walked into an R-K-O from Randy Orton, Orton was then scooped up by Brock Lesnar and taken out with a huge F-5 but Daniel Bryan then rolled Lesnar up and used the ropes for leverage to get a three count by John Cena and win the WWE Championship, the crowd went crazy as John Cena handed over the WWE Championship belt to an exhausted Daniel Bryan and Bryan was finally the face of the WWE, Daniel Bryan had come through hell and walked out of Armageddon the WWE Champion.

The next night on Raw Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and Randy Orton took out there fury on the man who made the Hell in a Cell match at Armageddon, Raw General Manager Brad Maddox, Triple H sacked Maddox as General Manager and then Maddox got an RKO from Randy Orton for his troubles, Randy Orton went on to say that he was never pinned to lose his WWE Championship and next week on Raw he is going to execute his rematch clause, it will be Hell in a Cell again live on Monday Night Raw but this time it will only be Orton and Daniel Bryan inside, them and Orton’s appointed guest referee the COO Triple H, Michael Cole was keen to state on commentary that Orton and Triple H were making sure Bryan’s run as WWE Champion would only be a short one as they were stitching him up, outcome John Cena and he said that to him this all seemed very unfair on Daniel Bryan so in the interest of fairness he wanted to do what’s best for business, Cena was now cleared to wrestle so he challenged Orton to a one on one match tonight, If Cena wins its Orton VS Bryan in the Cell next week with no guest referee, if Orton wins then Triple H will be the guest referee and lets face it Daniel Bryan will be screwed? Despite Orton hating the idea of a match with Cena tonight Stephanie convinces Triple H that Orton versus Cena tonight is good for business and that after three months out Orton should beat Cena anyway so Triple H accepts Cena’s proposal.
Later that night John Cena beat Randy Orton despite Triple H and The Shields interference after WWE Champion Daniel Bryan came out to clear house with a steel chair, Cena’s victory meant that the next week it would be Bryan VS Orton one on one inside Hell in a Cell for the WWE Championship.

It was also announced that next weeks Raw would be a “Attitude Raw” special and that Attitude legends The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin would be in the house for the show.

On the first Smackdown after Armageddon Rob Van Dam executed his rematch clause to face Damian Sandow for the World Heavyweight Championship, the match ended in controversy when RVD’s former mentor Paul Heyman interfered in the match to help Damian Sandow retain his title and World Champion Sandow then promptly announced his induction into Paul Heyman’s “Dangerous Alliance”, this would lead to a story line where Rob Van Dam could not believe his former mentor Heyman had screwed him over.

The December 23rd Monday Night “Attitude Raw” was a great show that really ended 2013 in a great way for the WWE, it culminated in Daniel Bryan retaining the WWE Championship inside a Hell in a Cell by making Randy Orton tap out, this win in a great match would really solidify Bryan as a top main event star heading into 2014.
Other matches on the Attitude Raw special saw Undertaker and Bray Wyatt go to a non contest when The Wyatt’s attacked and put Undertaker in a casket after earlier in the night Kane had been taken out of action.
CM Punk, Rob Van Dam and Dolph Ziggler beat The Dangerous Alliance team of World Champion Damian Sandow, Curtis Axel and The Miz in a six man tag team match after interference from Stone Cold Steve Austin, attitude era creator and legend Austin had returned earlier in the night and had been approached by Paul Heyman who reminded Austin of his history in the original Dangerous Alliance, Heyman said he wanted Austin back as a leader of the new Dangerous Alliance and Austin had said he would think about it, well Austin gave his answer when he stunned every member of the Dangerous Alliance costing them there match and then sharing a beer with Punk, Bryan and Ziggler in celebration.
This Raw was also huge because of the announcement of a New Raw General Manager, Vickie Guerrero, Booker T, Teddy Long and Paul Heyman all put themselves forward for the role but Triple H announced the new Raw General Manager as none other then “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair.
Also returning to Raw for the first time since Wrestlemania 29 was The Rock, Rock was in fine form but was soon cut from his flow by the arrival of “The Heart Break Kid” Shawn Michaels, HBK shocked the world as he told The Rock he didn’t like the fact The Rock has been walking around the past few years since his return calling himself the Greatest of all time because he isn’t Shawn Michaels is the greatest of all time, The Rock responded by saying that’s a shame because now HBK is retired at home in his rocking chair he can do nothing about it so The Rock wanted to know why Shawn Michaels was out here being totally and utterly pointless? Michaels thought about his answer and then stunned the WWE Universe by Super Kicking The Rock out of nowhere, The Rock was cold out, the crowd was in shock and HBK just wiped his boot clean and then exited the ring with a smirk on his face, the whole WWE Universe was now speculating what they had just seen the start of between The Rock and Shawn Michaels?

Backstage December 2013 was a big month in regards to the foreseeable future of the WWE as after the Armageddon pay per view a huge board meeting was called where COO Triple H put forward his plans to move the company in a different direction, Triple H believed the Armageddon pay per view and build up had struck a nerve with the WWE Universe in the way that it came away from the totally PG concept the WWE had lived by in the last few years, it was Triple H’s view that the WWE could move into a new era with a more edgy and less PG product that would fit characters like CM Punk, Randy Orton and The Shield better going forward and allow the WWE to put together much more grittier storylines and production, Triple H was searching for the middle ground between what was the attitude era and what the WWE had become today and his idea seemed to garner support from those higher up in the WWE, it was soon decided shortly after the board meeting that it was good to go ahead with the revamp of the way the WWE does storylines going into 2014 and Vince McMahon gave Triple H full power in making sure this change was executed perfectly and to the benefit of the WWE.
In other news Big E Langston was signed to a new long term deal by the WWE, the former NXT Champion had been on an unbeaten run since November and was seen by the WWE as a credible huge future star.
The Rock had returned to the WWE for the Xmas 2013 Attitude Raw Special and it was said that WWE Officials were glad to have Dwayne Johnson back after it had been feared his WWE career may be on the back burner again after his Wrestlemania 29 match with John Cena the past April, the angle between The Rock and Shawn Michaels that took place on that Raw special did play a major role in The Rock agreeing to do the show, the idea was pitched to The Rock by Triple H although there was no concrete certainty a match would ever take place between The Rock and HBK due to Michaels being retired since 2010, the backstage belief was that a dream match between Michaels and The Rock at Wrestlemania 30 may be enough to pull Michaels out of retirement for one last match although he had always said since 2010 that he would not go back on his retirement, that being said the angle was the talk of the business after the Attitude Raw Special and many in the WWE believed Michaels was still in good enough condition to step back in the ring if he wanted and that it would be hard for HBK or The Rock to turn down the huge money of a Wrestlemania dream match?
Also big news around the WWE was the company renewing its contract with the USA Network to remain the home of Monday Night Raw for the next year, both the WWE and the USA Network were happy with the ratings the WWE were pulling and it seemed a natural move to continue the relationship between the two for the foreseeable future.
It was also rumored that the WWE were talking to the USA Network about adding another show to the network but that these discussions were in early stages and could have been linked to the fact that the WWE were still in negotiations with the Syfy Network to renew the contract of Friday Night Smackdown, while it was believed that the WWE was happy to keep Smackdown on that network there was talk higher up in the company that a change of network and broadcast day for Friday Night Smackdown was not out of the question.
