WWE should stop making movies for kids.

in 2016 they will release:

Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery 2
WWE Meets Jetsons

whats the deal here? nobody buys those movies, hell not even the big franchises like 12 rounds, The Condenmed or The marine, they have all bombed big time at the box office, in fact WWE should stop making movies altogether.

The chaperone made $43,795 at the box office worldwide
Knucklehead made $8,927 at the box office worlwide

12 Rounds budget is 22 million and made 18.184.083 at the box office.
The condemned budget is 16.9 million and made 8.642.858.

in conclusion, every movie made by WWE losses tons of money and considering the current state of the business they should stop it ASAP.

It's an ego thing, the WWE feel like they have to validate calling themselves World wrestling "Entertainment" so the little kids don't realise WWE also has World Wrestling in the name and is where they get the most of their revenue from. :shrug

Wrestling is a dirty word but shitty movies ain't :vince

They have produced a couple box office winners (The Call, See No Evil, Scorpion King) but 95% of their stuff suffers losses. It's just that WWE has money to blow due to its primary venture, so the studios aren't in any real danger because they're on a consistent corporate stimulus.

You gotta think, WWE has a massive amount of people handling financial consultancy. It's very likely that these people have their opinions trusted. So if they are allowing the company to spend money on films, you gotta think, why?

Tax relief? <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Building a portfolio and buying movie rights? <<<<<<<<<<<

Almost forgot, marketing their wrestling stars.

WWE should stop making movies. Period.

Unless they will make one about The Wyatt Family.

I always thought they should make kayfabe films instead of shit like 12 Rounds or The Marine. I'd dig a Wyatt Family movie.

This whole mess is all thanks to Vince deciding to go PUBLIC with his company instead of remaining private.

Had he not gone public, he wouldn't be pulling this shit.

It's a bit cliche with the Battle Royale (or if you're 12, Hunger Games) storyline, but I liked The Condemned.

The kids liked Chaperone on Netflix...

We watched Condemned, was one of those budget DVDs, was actually a laugh and kinda enjoyable.

Still, financially they can't be successful so stop it or get gud.

This would not be a bad idea at all.

Obviously it wouldn't work as a regular film but there is a ton of these ''Lost tapes'' type horror movies around these days and this would fit into that category perfectly.

Could be made on a relatively low budget and could showcase the Wyatts in an environment not tailored to John Cena fans. In fact it could be filmed without them even taking time off.

Obviously they would need to consult some outside writers to avoid the film turning into Bray rambling for 80 minutes.

I can't see it being a box office success :lol but it would be very popular on the network.

It could actually be a genius idea to market the Wyatts better but why dream eh?

They are about to lose to Taker and Kane at Survivor Series and with that they will lose all their credibility once again.

you really shouldn't use wiki as a reference in 2015

wwes own documents to the sec highlight exactly how much money they have spent per movie and how much profit or loss each movie makes. regardless right now wwe are doing record revenue so they can continue exploring other areas

as for movies

Jingle All the Way 2, wwe spent $1.6 million...so far they seen $100,000 in profit
Leprechaun: Origins, wwe spent $1 million...so far they have seen $200,000 in profit
Scooby Doo! WrestleMania Mystery, wwe spent $1.2 million..so far they have seen $1.6 million in profit
Christmas Bounty, wwe spent $3.7 million..wwe made $500,000 in profit

so all the recent children based movies have actually MADE money, not a huge amount but its better than in the past where they lost millions on individual movies.

Condemned and 12 rounds had decent distribution and were in theaters. They lost that distribution deal years ago. Chaperone probably isn't a good movie but the reason why it doesn't do anything @ the box office is because it's hardly in any theaters at all.

Although a certain product may lose money, it can still be very good for business because it's another avenue for the brand name to get out there and can help pick up fans (however unlikely we feel that to be.)
