748 3
Rob Van Dam heads to the ring to kick start Raw from San Diego, California.

RVD says he felt angrier than he had ever felt before because of what happened the previous week. RVD says he didn’t know why Kane did what he did, but he wanted an answer right then and there.

Kane’s music hits, but The Big Red Machine doesn’t appear.

As RVD waits for Kane, the World Heavyweight Champion sneaks into the ring from the crowd and attacks RVD from behind. Kane nails RVD with a Chokeslam and leaves the ring.

2 Matches: Lance Storm def. Test and Christian def. The Hurricane

Backstage, Co-Raw GM’s Stone Cold and Mick Foley are trying to decide on a stipulation for the Main Event that evening which placed the Dudleyz, Rob Van Dam and Booker T against Chris Jericho, Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels and World Heavyweight Champion Kane. Foley says it should be an Elimination Match (everyone gets pinned until there’s one man left) and Austin says it should be an Inaugural Brawl (one person gets pinned). Vince then walks in, looking menacingly at Mick Foley. Foley explains their problem so Vince confirms an Inaugural Brawl, not Foley’s idea, to get at the Hardcore Legend. Foley retaliates by saying that he and Stone Cold had granted Eric Bischoff a match against Vince McMahon at Unforgiven! Vince says he was the WWE owner and nobody could force him do nothing. Austin said that they had already confirmed the match with C.E.O. of the WWE, Linda McMahon! Foley then says they put a stipulation into the match – it would be a Street Fight! Vince looks absolutely frustrated, but keeps his calm and says that he beat Bischoff 2 weeks before on Raw and he would beat him again at Unforgiven. The telephone rings, and Foley picks it up. Foley looks surprised to hear the person calling them, and puts the phone down. Austin asks who it was, and Foley tells Austin that The Rock wanted a match against the Texas Rattlesnake at Unforgiven! Austin says he couldn’t do it because his body wasn’t up to it. However, since Rock wanted to be a part of Unforgiven, Austin says he would find someone to represent him in a match against The Rock at Unforgiven.

Match: La Resistance def. Al Snow & Maven when Rene Dupree rolls up Maven and uses the ropes as leverage to take the victory.

After the commercial, Chris Jericho comes out for the Highlight Reel.

Y2J welcomes everyone to the Highlight Reel and announces that because he had to face HBK at Unforgiven, he was giving up his spot in the 8-Man Battle Royal to the returning William Regal! Y2J then says he would like to introduce his guest for that evening, nWo member Shawn Michaels! Y2J welcomes HBK and asks him how he would be able to fight both Y2J and D-Generation X at Unforgiven. HBK says he would only be wrestling in one match, and that was against Y2J! Y2J looks puzzled and enquires Michaels about the nWo match. HBK then tells Y2J and the fans that a good friend of his would be replacing him in the match against D-X. Y2J says that maybe HBK was trying to get out of having to fight his old faction D-X. HBK looks worried when he suddenly grabs Y2J and smashes him into Y2J’s expensive television set! HBK then even locks a bloody Y2J in his own Walls of Jericho! Kevin Nash and Scott Steiner then run down to the ring and stamp all over Jericho as HBK gets the spray paint and Jericho gets branded nWo style! Austin then comes out and changes the main event to Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels, Booker T and Kane against Chris Jericho, the Dudleyz and RVD!

2 Matches: Rico w/Jackie Gayda def. Christian and Bradshaw def. Test by DQ when Test used a steel chair on Bradshaw. After the match, Test wants to give Bradshaw a Big Boot when Faarooq comes out and hits Test with a Dominator! Bradshaw then gets up, picks Test up and nails the Clothesline from Hell! The A.P.A. is back on Raw!

Backstage, a hurt Y2J is being interviewed by Marc Loyd and announces he wouldn’t be able to wrestle evening so it would be a Handicap Match. Jericho announces that Co-Raw GM Austin had granted a stipulation for Y2J’s match against HBK- it would be First Blood and in a Steel Cage! Foley then appears and says he has quickly booked a match between the A.P.A. and Goldberg & Brock Lesnar.

Match: Goldberg & Brock Lesnar def. The A.P.A when Goldberg spears Bradshaw. After the match, Brock quickly takes a $100 note out of his pocket (he was wearing pants for this match) and pays the A.P.A. to lay out Goldberg. They do as they are told, and then after they leave Brock hits Goldberg with an F5 for good measure.

After the commercial, Mick Foley then comes out to a big pop. Foley says that he had another addition to the match between Vince McMahon and Eric Bischoff at Unforgiven- he would be the Special Referee! Foley then explains that the match could get out of hand so someone experienced needed to officiate it.

The glass shatters and out comes Stone Cold.

Austin says that he would also like to say something about Unforgiven, and that was that he had found someone to fight The Rock. Austin then describes his representative as a fearless, strong, tough superstar who was also a former World Champion…

WOOOOOOOOOO! The Nature Boy Ric Flair heads out the to the ring!

Flair then says that 3 weeks before, when Triple H Pedigreed him and threw him to the side, people thought that Ric Flair was finished. Flair then says he was still standing, and he had been looking for the opportunity to face off with a top WWE wrestler to prove himself. The Nature Boy says that at Unforgiven, the world would witness a miracle: the 16-time World Champion Ric Flair defeating The Brahma Bull The Rock at Madison Square Garden! Austin then says that he wanted to celebrate- it was time for a Stone Cold, Mick Foley and Ric Flair Beer Bash! With that, the three legends grab a Steveweiser each and toast!

Main Event: The Dudleyz and RVD def. Kevin Nash, HBK, Booker T and Kane when the Dudleyz give Kane a 3-D and then RVD hits a Five-Star Frog Splash on Kane and pins the World Heavyweight Champion! After the match, all hell breaks out between the 7 superstars. As the last two standing superstars are still battling it out (Shawn Michaels and RVD) D-X come out to the top of the ramp. As HHH and HBK trash talk, Y2J comes into the ring from the crowd and smashes both RVD and HBK with a steel chair. Y2J then concentrates on HBK’s face, opening Michaels up and leaving him a bloody heap on the mat. As D-X laugh at the top of the ramp, Y2J holds up the steel chair as the last Raw before Unforgiven goes off the air!
