Serves them right for making a mockery out of the original ECW. It's not like WWE would ever use ECW ever again so it's really no big loss to them.
They can't release any DVD's on that now. And any usage of the letters "ECW" will likely be blocked and blurred out on future releases. Which is kinda hilarious.

Serves them right for pissing on the legacy of the company.

have they stopped using it on there video games?
I think ECW was in SmackDown vs Raw 2011 despite it being released tenth months after it ended, but I don't think it's in WWE '12.

In that case, there probably won't be an ECW: Unreleased Vol. 2 anytime soon then.

So now someone can buy "ECW" as a company or it's just the name brand? from what I know, Vince is holding it just for the video library anyway, same for WCW.

If the same will happen with the WCW brand, maybe Bischoff can buy it and change the TNA brand to WCW.

I think they just lost the monkier for ECW, but I think they still own the video library. ECW's been dead for over 11 years, it's been time to move on from it.

WWE still owns all the assets to ECW, they just can't refer to it as "ECW" anymore, I don't believe. Kinda like how they can say World Wrestling Federation, but not WWF, they can still say Extreme Championship Wrestling.

Not sure how this will affect the ECW logo or anything like that.

My undersanding of the law isn't anywhere near "Educated" but if I'm not mistaken ...

Wouldn't the WWE be able to realease and sell any ECW footage from the film library and use the ECW logo?

I think if they lost the ECW trademark, then they just can't release a new logo. Or make promote another ECW show.

I think this has more to do with this new company having the rights to use the trademark. Maybe put on shows? Not sure ...

They lost the moniker of ECW not the name Extreme Championship Wrestling, nor the footage libraries, nor the right to use the footage of past logos etc.

They'll get it back anyway. Whether they challenge it or just buy it back. The point is that they wouldn't be launching any future ECW promotions or shows so it's kind of irrelevant to them.
