As first reported on Fightful Select, lead WWE Raw writer Ryan Callahan has been fired by the company.

Although it would be easy to assume his departure is due to the record-low viewership the red brand has seen in recent weeks, the issue allegedly comes down to a problem between him and Dave Kapoor, who fans may remember as manager Ranjin Singh.

Reportedly, Kapoor believed that Callahan “took creative changes a little too personally, and was difficult to work with”, creating issues on the Raw writing team. Another source also confirmed to Fightful that the two “butted heads often” backstage
There's only one man for the job, bro :russo

WWE is going through some very dark days at the moment and each passing day it sounds like it's getting worse and worse, and I am loving every second of it. Vince has his head so far up his ass that he honestly deserves to watch the very thing he built, be burned to the ground. He is one of the most stubborn men on the planet and just won't budge. It's astonishing how many writers have quit, gotten fired, or demoted themselves as a writer because they were sick of Vince changing everything.

None of these writers mean shit anyway, because at the end of the day, Vince still makes all the calls. It's pretty fucking poor for a company where every single week they do a million re-writes for a 3 hour show, and at times, they literally finish the script mere minutes before airtime or they write the show as they go on.

Means nothing. They write for an audience of one, and that one changes his mind 25 times a week. I can't imagine how hard it is writing for them. You create a 12 week story, then Vince changes his mind in week 2 and expects you to still make it work, no wonder they are all so fucking depressed, I actually feel bad for them. They probably get blamed for the ratings, and by talent who are being misused.

Maybe Lio Rush can take this position now that he lost his old one. Then they can film the creative meetings for a reality show with his wife as stunt double (stepping in when he speaks with the boss to discuss which ideas make it through).

Still waiting for the news of Vince stepping down or stop overseeing everything. Firing writers or having your writers quit on your stubborn ass will do nothing until the day Vince steps down.
