Matt Hardy is 45yo and well past his prime. Even in his prime he was barely a mid card talent. He'll always be remembered as 1/2 of the Hardy Boys tag team but after the split he drew the Marty Jannetty straw. With Jeff being a career fuckup, a tag team reunion is highly unlikely. At this point he should be lucky he's still getting booked.
think the closest matt hardy came to breaking through as a real singles competitor was when the whole edge / lita feud was going on. WWE clearly didn't really want to push him much beyond that (lets be honest, he was let go from wwe before they brought him back). Matt never had much of a personality anyway. His claim to fame was the tag team scene.

Jeff hardy always had the potential to be a main player in wwe but his problems always got in the way of that. WWE obviously wanted to do more with him a few times but he always fucked it up. Jeff will always be one of those "what couldve been" scenarios.

tbh, I expect matt is still being booked because he is under contract. WWE would basically have a choice of either use him or let him sit at home collecting cheques. I have my doubts that they will be rushing to renew his contract when it next comes around. Matt on his own has no real worth now he is 45, the broken thing is ruined and Jeff has fallen off the wagon again.

I expect wwe is just making use of someone that they have to pay anyway.

I would love to see him in a management role, the guy is getting on a bit now. he's slower in the ring and most of the time it;s painful to watch. Matt was always my favourite Hardy but even I cannot bare to watch him wrestling anymore.

But in a management role I'll gladly welcome it. His mic work is surprisingly good now days, give those who cannot talk to work with Hardy.
I see these type of comments all the time but just out of curiosity, who would you have him manage that would make sense?

A 'They're Burying Matt!' thread already? For Christ's sake people, Matt's a few years away from 50 years old and he had his first TV match in forever last night and put over a young talent. As he should. Everyone has their role to play.

I remember reading on this forum long ago about how Matt Hardy looked out of shape and had a big gut. So it's amazing that Matt has improved himself and lasted this far.

Apparently Matts contract is up in several months. So that may be another reason, along with his age and his brother having issues again, why they are using him to put others over.

Matt Hardy has pretty much done everything in the WWE except win the top title and at least an IC title for a Triple Crown, though he did win the ECW championship but it was treated as if it's a lower-tier belt. What they are doing with him now is simply what guys from the past did. Around 15-20 years ago, we had guys like Sgt. Slaughter, Hacksaw Jim Duggan to name a few jobbing to up and coming superstars so this shouldn't come as a shock.

The thing I found funny though is that a completely normal Matt Hardy came out last Monday Night Raw, it's like a complete throwback with his attire and look. I don't even know what gimmick he has now but I'd be really surprised if I hear his Monster Magnet theme again. :lmao

Whats wrong with Edge? And given what Matt ended up with, the man hasn't had the best luck with women.

Edge was and still is a very good looking guy. (No homo)

He looks like a star- tall, tattoos, long blonde hair, tons of personality and funny .

He may not be a powerhouse guy like Batista , but is fit and very marketable .

I imagine he was the wet dream of thousands of chicks back in the day

Didn't see the big fuss about his rich man gimmick, and definitely not Broken; bu yeah, he should have returned differently, and maybe one a match or two before he lost so easily.

He's a HOF, I think he's bigger than Orton and HHH from my stance. Definitely no Shelton like they did him.

Without tables, ladders, and chairs, nobody really cared for either of the Hardy boys. And at 45 years old, Matt probably can't do that anymore so he's SOL as far as wrestling. The Hardy Boyz are the best backyard wrestlers ever.
