You need to be yourself, you can't be no-one else.
think the closest matt hardy came to breaking through as a real singles competitor was when the whole edge / lita feud was going on. WWE clearly didn't really want to push him much beyond that (lets be honest, he was let go from wwe before they brought him back). Matt never had much of a personality anyway. His claim to fame was the tag team scene.Matt Hardy is 45yo and well past his prime. Even in his prime he was barely a mid card talent. He'll always be remembered as 1/2 of the Hardy Boys tag team but after the split he drew the Marty Jannetty straw. With Jeff being a career fuckup, a tag team reunion is highly unlikely. At this point he should be lucky he's still getting booked.
Jeff hardy always had the potential to be a main player in wwe but his problems always got in the way of that. WWE obviously wanted to do more with him a few times but he always fucked it up. Jeff will always be one of those "what couldve been" scenarios.
tbh, I expect matt is still being booked because he is under contract. WWE would basically have a choice of either use him or let him sit at home collecting cheques. I have my doubts that they will be rushing to renew his contract when it next comes around. Matt on his own has no real worth now he is 45, the broken thing is ruined and Jeff has fallen off the wagon again.
I expect wwe is just making use of someone that they have to pay anyway.
