And it'd be ALOT of censoring needing to be done. Not just because it was 14+ tv, but all those WWF logos have to be censored, though can't WWE reach some sort of agreement to allow them to use the logo but just not say WWF? Many people have said WWF on WWE TV and I don't think WWE ever got in trouble, do doesn't seem like anyone cares anymore about the whole WWF thing

Possibly, but along with the required editing mentioned above, i dont think they would go to the expense of cleaning and remastering all of the footage to make it true 1080p quality.

As I have seen on some of my own bluray movies such as Terminator 2, Rocky 1-4, it can actually be worse picture quality than DVD if not done properly.

I actually hope not because it was expensive replacing all my VHS tapes with DVD, I wont be doing that again with bluray, although I do buy the new PPV releases on bluray.

Ever since I started watching wrestling in high-definition I have been wanting to get WWE events on blu ray. Imo I think it would be awesome if they did come out with the Attitude Era on blu ray just as long as they do it right. I know I would buy it at least.

Unlikely. Primarily new footage will receive Blu-Ray treatment, while only selected old stuff will be included. The rest will be slotted onto WWE's TV station/on demand programming.

A major problem is that I'm pretty sure all of those Attitude Era shows were done in full screen format and not widescreen.
They could go with cropping, but that would make the already shitty quality even worse. I don't see this happening.

I'm guessing the ppv will be released on blu-ray and then whatever the next advancement in technology is, etc etc etc.

huh? Dude, I dont know whats wrong with your set-up, but T2 is one of the best exsmples of a bluray transfer you can get from an older film. It looks incredible on my TV. No way in hell is it worse than DVD quality, its far better in every way.

You must have the Skynet edition mate which is top notch - I have the first blu-ray release, with Arnie on the bike on the cover.

The picture is pants, in some parts I would even say worse than DVD. The re-released Skynet T2 edition is how it should be done.

Last time I checked, they just blurred the edges of the full-screen footage to make it fill the wide-screen ratio.
At least keep content TV-14 and above. If anything, they need to look at re-editing their content to deal with the horrible WWF blurs.

This is why I've brought the Tagged Classics, because the back catalog belongs to Silvervision, they probably came up with a deal with the World Wildlife Fund and released Tagged Classics unedited, I'd rather spend the extra to have them unedited than I would to buy a show full of blurs.

I won't buy it cause the blurry WWF logos pisses me off. They're so big and ridiculous and all over the frigging place. It's unwatchable for me. I rather download torrents where I can get the original thing with no blurs.
