I was just reading through an old thread and this particular post caught my eye..

In the past 10 months? Seriously, the belt, in the wrestling world, means you are the top of the mountain. It always has and always should... only the WWE is treating it like second rate trash all to push Cena. Kayfabe wise, there is NO ONE above the champion. He is supposed to be the top... so the fact the WWE is trying to act like Punk is wrong for demanding respect after not only keeping the belt for this long, but being a fighting champion and doing it without cheating on top of it... is just showing the WWE either doesn't respect what wrestling has always been or just doesn't understand anymore. Why would any wrestling fan side against a guy trying to say that booking the title and its champion in stupid positions and not giving them respect?

Obviously the user made a good point here. How can punk be wrong, as in a heel, for demanding something that he already has in the kayfabe world? He's the longest reining champion in last 6 years for crying out loud.

And other thing that bugged me is punk's comment about sheamus being the second rate champion, which also in kayfabe is completely stupid thing to claim. Sheamus should be is equal.

I agree about Punk, but I don't quite agree with the part on the WHC/Sheamus.

The reason is that it's the faces that don't give Punk respect, even though faces are the ones usually sticking to honor and integrity. That Punk calls Sheamus a second rate champion is more forgivable because he's the heel. Heels are supposed to say things like that to annoy people. It would be another thing if all faces disrespected Sheamus as well.

Just inconsistent and shallow writing.

No. The "WWE" is not making is sound wrong for Punk demanding respect. That is the John Cena character and his character alone.

Well it's true, the WHC hasn't main evented a PPV in two years and most of the time it's the curtain jerker. Sorry to burst your imaginary bubble, but the WHC has been called second rate by WWE for quite some time now, hell JR said it at WM22.

Meh, I've always considered the World Title a step down from the WWE Title. In other words, the World Title is for the guys who the WWE use to put the strap on as an experiment of sorts and see how their reign works out for them. If they do well, then the WWE Title is next. I don't know if that made any sense, lol. Punk just says what some of us are thinking.

Not for everyone, though. Sheamus and Del Rio won the WWE Title before winning the World Title.
