This show is a continuation from all the other posts I've been doing, so make sure to read up on those to figure out what's going on.
Smackdown! August 5th
A clip package is shown of the actions last week taken by Mr. McMahon. It shows him setting up the elimination chamber title match up for Summer Slam, saying that he would personally select the participants, and NOT General Manager Kurt Angle. It also shows that McMahon now has it out for JBL, and is intent on him loosing the title before Summer Slam so he can not participate in the elimination chamber title match. It also shows what happened at the end of the show, when Eddie tried to crush Angle’s limo with him low rider.

SETTING UP THE MAIN EVENT
Kurt Angle appears on the titantron to a chorus of boos from the crowd. He’s sitting in an office somewhere, live via satellite. He says that he’s not there in person tonight because he fears for his life due to Eddie’s actions last week on Smackdown. But he says that he can run the show just fine from where he is. Just then, “No Chance” hits and Vince walks out to the ring with a big smile on his face. Vince takes the mic and admonishes Angle for not showing up for work. Vince says since Angle didn’t show up, he will just have to run the show tonight. Angle protests, and says that he can run the show just fine. Vince says that after SummerSlam, he might not be running Smackdown at all, because he has hired someone that has shown a tremendous interest in being the GM of Smackdown, and since Angle has been doing a subpar job, he might just take him up on the offer. Vince says that person is here TONIGHT! He then tells the people in the truck to cut the satellite feed as Angle is yelling “Who? Who?” Mr. McMahon moves on to other business. He said that tonight he will be selecting the 6 participants who will go to the Elimination Chamber Title match at SummerSlam, and tells all the superstars to be at their best, because he may pick anyone. He says that the only person who has a guaranteed place in the match is of course, the WWE Champion, JBL. JBL’s music then hits and he comes out onto the entrance way with mic in hand. He tells McMahon thank you for guaranteeing his spot in the match, especially since the unpleasantness last week, which he apologizes for. McMahon says… “ Woh, woh, woh, you didn’t let me finish, your spot is guaranteed to be in that match as long as you’re the champion, but that may very well change after tonight… because tonight, in this very ring, for the WWE Championship, you will face… THE UNDERTAKER!!!” JBL is terrified as Vince drops the mic and heads back to the GM office.
Before the commercial break, Tazz and Cole announce that tonight, there will be a six – man tag match, Billy Kidman, Paul London and Sabu vs. the Dudley Boyz and Heidenreich! Sabu will also be interviewed on Café De Renee! Plus tonight, the Jade Dragon is set to take on Jamie Noble!
After the break and before the next match, Torrie Wilson comes down to do color commentating. She gets a huge pop, of course.
Bad Ass Billy F’N Gunn vs. Charlie Haas w/ Rico & Miss Jackie
Before the match, Billy Gunn takes the mic and says how ridiculous it is that he’s in a match with a guy like Charlie Haas who is a rookie. He sells his new heel phrase, “I’M BILLY F’N GUNN” before the match begins. It’s a very good match, the two’s styles work very well together. All throughout the match, Billy tries to cheat in different ways, like using the ropes during pins and taking the turnbuckle pad off, but it’s stopped Rico and Jackie. Torrie, still at the announcing booth, is just talking about how pretty Jackie is, and that it’s a pity that WWE divas are so underused on Smackdown. Haas begins to get the upper hand, and almost gets the pin on Billy on several different occasions. Haas ties up Billy in a small package, and seemingly has the win, but Torrie Wilson gets up from the commentating booth and pushes Haas so now Billy is on top of the small package, and Gunn gets the win! Rico and Jackie are both shocked Torrie gets in the ring, Jackie confronts her, but Torrie belts Jackie! She then goes over to help up Billy and they both beat the tar out of Haas, Rico and Jackie. Torrie then takes the mic and tells the crowd that she’s sick of being misused on Smackdown, and if she is the only diva that is going to stand up for herself, then so be it! She says that she has decided to side with a man that is in the exact same spot as her, because he’s Billy F’N Gunn, and she’s TORRIE F’N WILSON!!! Billy looks surprised but hugs her and celebrates with he none the less. Just then, the titantron comes on and it’s Vince from his office. He says he likes Billy’s new attitude, and it has been proven to him that he may very well be championship material. So, as of now, Billy Gunn as been added to the Elimination Chamber Title Match at SummerSlam! Billy is ecstatic, but the crowd is none too happy. Vince also agrees that the divas are being underused on Smackdown, so, also at SummerSlam, it will be Torrie Wilson vs. Miss Jackie! Billy and Torrie leave the ring, both very happy with the results.
Winner: Billy Gunn via pinfall
BACK TO THE LOCKER ROOM
Paul Heyman is shown in one of the private locker rooms with his team, the Dudleyz and John Heidenreich. The urn that Heyman stole from Paul Bearer is sitting on top of one of the lockers. Heyman is paseing the floor, and Bubba asks him what’s wrong, because he knows that the Dudleyz and Heidenreich can beat the two flukes and Sabu tonight. Heyman tells him that no, I don’t know that, because Sabu is one of the best and most talented employees that he ever had in ECW, and Kidman and London had beaten the Dudleyz before. And he says to top it all off, if what Vince says is any indication, THE UNDERTAKER IS ALREADY HERE AND IN THE BUILDING! He’s going to be hunting Heyman, for what he made him do to Paul Bearer, and no one, NO ONE can stop the Undertaker once he has his mind set on something. Just then, the lights in the room go out. Heyman scream bloody murder, and then the lights come back on. Bubba tells him to settle down, that it was just power failure. Heyman says sorry, but he can’t stay here tonight, Undertaker is going to kill him if he finds him! Paul runs from the room, no doubt to flee the arena. The Dudleyz and Heidenreich look extremely pissed but then as they look around the room, they see that the urn is now gone from the top of the locker where it was sitting. They are all now genuinely freaked out.
OUTSIDE THE GM OFFICE
Luther Reigns is walking to the GM office when he passes JBL in the hallway. He tells JBL that he hasn’t forgotten about the Clothesline From Hell that he got from Bradshaw last week. JBL says that he wants to do something about it, he can knows where to find him. Reigns just seems to brush off the comment and walks into the GM office, where Vince McMahon is now sitting. He requests that he be given a match with John Cena for the U.S. Title, which he has been requesting for weeks. Vince says that he runs this show much differently from Angle, and that he’s not just going to give out title shots on a whim. He says however, that if Reigns wins his match tonight, then at SummerSlam, he will get the match against Cena that he requested. Reigns looks very pleased as he begins to walk out, and Vince says “… Oh ya… I forgot to tell you… tonight you’ll be facing Eddie Guerrero!” Reigns looks concerned now as he leaves the office.
The Jade Dragon vs. Jamie Noble
Noble comes out, and then comes the entrance of the mysterious Jade Dragon, who we were told about last week. Green flames shoot out of just about every inch of the entrance way, and the Jade Dragon rises up through a green ring of fire, sorta like Gangrel used to. It is now plain to see that it is the return of Ultimo Dragon, with a slightly refreshed gimmick. He is wearing cool ass new ring attire that seems to be almost neon green. The match begins, and of course, it’s awesome. Jamie and Dragon both give their all, with many high risked maneuvers. It seems that Dragon is about to get them win, when a man in a black samurai look costume comes to the ring and starts beating the crap out of Dragon. The ref rings the bell as Jamie flees the ring, and now we see clearly that it is The Dark Samurai, Kenzo Suzki that is the attacker. He leaves Dragon in a beat heap. Why has he attacked the Dragon? Perhaps we’ll find out next week…
Winner: Jade Dragon via DQ
Vince appears on the titantron, and says that next on Smackdown, he has booked match to name a new participant to the Elimation Chamber… it will be Rey Mysterio vs. Rob Van Dam… NEXT!!!
BOOKER’S TIP
After the commercial break, we are in the GM Office once again, and Booker T walks in. Booker asks Mr. McMahon if he has considered Booker for the Elimation Chamber yet, since he requested it last week before anyone else. Vince says again, that he’s not giving out anything for free on Smackdown, and the night is already extremely booked… so… Booker then buts in, and says he can give something to Mr. McMahon for the opportunity to be in the match, a business tip. McMahon asks what business tip could Booker possibly give to him. Booker says he’s been hearing rumblings in the locker room, about something BIG that’s gonna happen, not here on Smackdown, but something one RAW, something that McMahon might want to know about before next Monday. McMahon thinks about it for a moment, and then says ok, he likes Booker’s style anyway, so Booker is in the Elimation Chamber Match, but just out of pure curiosity about what his tip is. Booker looks extremely happy, but then tells McMahon that a superstar from the past that McMahon didn’t even hire is planning on making a surprise appearance next week on RAW! He dons’t know exactly who, but he thought McMahon might like to know. McMahon looks concerned and says “…interesting…”
Rey Mysterio Jr. (Cruiserweight champ) vs. Rob Van Dam
*Winner earns a spot in the Elimation Chamber WWE Title Match @ SummerSlam
This is of course an excellent match. These two are fighting for a huge opportunity. There are so many high risk moves that it’s not even funny. Many close counts for both men. Rey Mysterio attempts the West Coast Pop, but it is reversed into a power bomb by Rob Van Dam. Van Dam later in the match tries the Five Star Frog Splash, but Rey catches him on the top rope and pulls off a hurricanranna. Rey hits a 450 Splash from the top rope….. 1….2…..Thr…. NOOO!!! RVD kicks out in the nick of time. RVD regains the upper hand, and hits a Split Legged Moonsult! 1….2…. NOOO!!! Rey barely kicks out. RVD again goes up top for the Five Star, but Rey drop kicks him off of the ropes, and RVD falls through a table outside. Rey then does a suicide dive from in the ring outside after him, but RVD gets up just in time to catch him with a crescent kick in the face. RVD sets Rey on top of the announcers table as Tazz and Michael Cole flee the scene. RVD goes up top, and attempts and Five Star from inside the ring to the outside, but misses and goes through a second table as Rey moves out of the way. Rey quickly rolls RVD back into the ring and hits the West Coast Pop! 1…2…NOOOO!!! RVD kicks out! Rey is so amazed, he doesn’t know what to do next. He goes up top to attempt something, but Rob catches him with an arm drag off the top down to the mat. RVD jumps up to the top, and finally hit the Five Star Frog Splash! 1…2…3!!! RVD gets the win and gets the wins the opportunity to go onto the Elimination Chamber. Showing respect to Rey, he helps Rey up and shakes his hand. But has they look to the entrance way, Chavo Jr. is standing there, pointing and laughing at Rey. Rey looks really pissed.
Winner: Rob Van Dam via pinfall
BACK TO THE HEYMAN LOCKEROOM
The Dudleyz and Heidenriech are sitting around discussing strategy for their six man tag match tonight, when Heyman comes back in the locker room. D-Von calls Heyman a deserter and asks what he wants. Heyman is smiling, and says he thinks he is going to be ok tonight, because he has found a way to be safe from the Undertaker…
HALLWAY
RVD and Rey are walking through the hallways in the back after their match, and Rey congratulates RVD, but says he’s really annoyed with Chavo. RVD tells him not to worry about it, to mellow out. RVD then gets an idea. He says to Rey to come to his locker room, that he knows the perfect way to mellow him out… he wants to introduce Rey to someone he knows named… Marry Joe… Rey laughs and says he thinks he’s met her before, they laugh and then continue walking.
CAFÉ DE RENEE – AN ULTIMATLEY EXTREME EDITION
The Café is once again set up in the ring and Renee Dupree starts out the segment threatening whoever destroyed the café set up last week, and ripping on America of course. He then introduces his guest, Sabu. Sabu walks to the ring to a huge pop. Renee asks why Sabu has come to the WWE, and Sabu says that he is fed up with seeing Paul Heyman screw up the lives of so many people in the WWE, like the Undertaker. He explains how he tried to do the same thing to him in ECW, and he couldn’t stand to see it happen to rising stars like Paul London and Kidman, so he came to the WWE to shut Paul E. up for good, whatever it takes. Dupree then starts asking Sabu derogatory questions like “ So, how was it working for a second rate, animalistic, bingo hall driven federation like ECW,” and other such questions. Sabu grabs Renne by the throat and tells him that he doesn’t like little prissing boys like Renee Dupree degrading a company that he once called home, and that meant so much to him. Renne then grabs a wine bottle off of the table and raises his arm to hit Sabu when the lights go out, and strobe lights hit, just like last week. Then the crowd is shocked to hear the Ultimate Warrior’s old music hit! Warrior books to the ring, just like he always used to, to a huge pop. Sabu and Renee are frozen in disbelief. Once he gets in the ring, he grabs a mic, and does his psychotic snorting sound, which gets another big pop from the crowd. He tells all of “ his warriors” that he has returned to the WWE, to make the world of wrestling right again. He says he has been watching WWE from home, seeing how far it has gone down the toilet under the rule of idiots like Eric Bischoff, Paul Heyman and Kurt Angle. So, he has returned to campaign for a régime change, to campaign for GM of Smackdown! He says he has longed to have a voice in the world of wrestling for a long time, a voice which some have, and waste it. With that he looks over at Renee Dupree. He goes over and gets right in his face. He tells Dupree that he has a unique spot in the WWE, a chance to make a difference with his segment on Smackdown with his voice, but chooses to waste it making fun of legends like Sabu. Warrior admits it was he who destroyed the Café last week because of this. And he says that also because of that because of this fact, he has already talked to McMahon, and that next week, it will be Warrior vs. Renee Dupree in the Smackdown ring! Renee, looks extremely pissed, and tries to hit Warrior with the wine bottle, but Warrior blocks. He then does a Gorilla Press Slam on the French Phenom! After that, Sabu picks Dupree up, sets him on the small, circular café table, goes up to the top, and hits a Shooting Star Press on Dupree, putting him right through the table! Sabu and Warrior then hold up each other hands, to a huge crowd ovation!
LOCKEROOM
In a very dark corner of the arena, the silhouette of the Undertaker is shown, starring at the urn that he apparently stole back from Paul Heyman.
After the commercial break, the Café has been cleared away and London and Kidman have joined Sabu in the ring to battle the Dudleyz and Heidenriech.
Sabu, Billy Kidman and Paul London vs. John Heidenriech and the Dudley Boyz w/Paul Heyman
A very good, fast paced match. The Dudleyz and Heidenriech work well as a team, but seem to always be outmatched by the other team. Sabu wrestles very well in his first match in the WWE, but gets distracted continually by the shouting comments of Paul Heyman, which allows the Heyman’s team to get the upper hand. At one point in the match, Sabu gets so pissed that he flips over the top rope, launching himself out onto Paul Heyman. This allows Kidman to slide in and catch D-Von, unexpectedly with a small package roll up 1…2… NOOO!!! The veteran kicks out just in time. Meanwhile, on the outside, Heidenriech lays into Sabu. Bubba is tagged in and gets a Bubba bomb on Kidman, but he amazingly kicks out. The Dudleyz grow increasingly frustrated with the tag champs, unable to defeat them. Sabu comes to consciousness outside the ring from Heidenriech’s beat down, grabs a chair, and from the floor, as Bubba has Kidman ties up choking him in the ropes, smacks him hard with a chair! Bubba is busted open badly. Sabu gets tagged back in, goes to the top, 450 Splash, and pins Bubba! Team Heyman is irate and continue the battle after the match. The titantron comes on, and there is Vince. He says that he is now truly proud that he hired a Hardcore Legend like Sabu, and he likes what he does. He says he has the right attitude and hardcore demeanor to be a champion, and to be part of the Elimination Chamber at SummerSlam! Heyman looks furious, shouting “ What about my guys?” Sabu leaves the ring smiling with Kidman and London, and the Dudleyz and Heidenreich all stare at Heyman, pissed off that their alliance with him is proving to be more of a hindrance from moving up the championship ladder in the WWE than a boost.
Winners: Sabu, Kidman and London when Sabu pinned Bubba Ray
LOCKEROOM
Luther Reigns is shown headed to ring for his match against Eddie Guerrero. If he wins, he gets Cena at SummerSlam. He passes Cena in the hall way, and Cena wishes him a sarcastic good luck “ Cuz you gonna need it.” Reigns restrains himself from fighting Cena and continues to the ring.
Eddie Guerrero vs. Luther Reigns
*If Reigns wins, he gets a U.S. Title Shot @ SummerSlam
Very good match. The rookie Reigns makes a good showing for himself, but the veteran moves of Eddie Guerrero seem to be getting the better of him. A few times, Reigns catches Eddie with a few of his high flying moves, but nothing that Eddie can’t recover from. Reigns grows increasingly frustrated, and ends up purposefully putting the ref in harms way, knocking him unconscious. Reigns then goes outside and gets a chair. Cena then appears on the entrance way. He is mocking Reigns, which draws Luther’s attention away from the match. Eddie low blows Reigns, steals his chair and brains him with it! He goes for the cover, the groggy ref makes the count…1…2… NOOO!!! Reigns kicks out. The ref still groggy and trying to get up, Guerrero capitalizes and grabs the camera from the camera man and brains Reigns with it! He then goes up top, hits the frog splash, and pins Reigns! After the match, Eddie then picks up the camera again, and is playing to the crowd with it, when McMahon comes up on the titantron. Vince looks displeased. “You lying, cheating, despicable man… (Vince’s face turns to a smile) well done. You just earned yourself a spot in the Elimination Chamber! However, Luther Reigns… You disappoint me. YOU GET NO TITLE SHOT @ SUMMERSLAM!” Reigns, just waking up, is very disappointed… as Eddie celebrates, still using the camera to play to the crowd. Now the Elimation Chamber is almost set… Billy Gunn vs. Booker T vs. RVD vs. Sabu vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. the champion… but after tonight, will that be JBL or The Undertaker?
Winner: Eddie Guerrero via pinfall
LOCKEROOM
Bradshaw is shown headed towards the ring, his head hanging, knowing that he is about to meet the Undertaker in battle.
WWE Championship Match
John Bradshaw Layfield (champ) vs. The Undertaker
As the Undertaker walks to the ring, he is carrying the urn, and before the match begins, he sets it in the middle of the ring and bows to it on one knee, and then puts it in the corner. The Undertaker begins to decisively dominate the champion, tossing him around the ring like a rag doll, and with Bradshaw, that’s hard to do. Any offense JBL attempts is immediately stopped or reversed by the Taker. He chokeslams the champion and goes in for the pin, but he sees Paul Heyman walking to the ring laughing. Taker gets and evil look on his face, and raises his hand in Paul’s direction, and Heyman’s suit jacket is lit on fire! Heyman quickly takes it off and stomps out the fire, but JBL now takes advantage of the destracted Taker. JBL powers Taker around the ring for a few minutes, but then Taker regains control, but they end up knocking the ref out. He then is about to tombstone JBL, when Heyman shouts for someone to come out of the locker room, and Mordeci heads out to the ring, ceremonial robe, cross and all. Mordeci then hits the ring and busts the Undertaker WIDE open with the cross. Mordeci stands over the Taker, as if he is victorious over him. Heyman then rolls the urn towards Mordeci and the camera gets in close on Mordeci. He says “Now the ultimate source of evil and sin will be punished!” Bradshaw looks on in the corner as Mordeci stabbs the jagged end of the cross right through the urn! When he does that, Undertaker immediately sits up! Bradshaw flees the ring and takes his title, as does Heyman, and Mordeci slowly, fearfully backs out of the ring. There is green smoke leaking out of the urn where Mordeci has stabbed it, as the bloody Undertaker stares at the fleeing villains as the ref awakens and counts Bradshaw out, and Smackdown! goes off the air.
Winner: The Undertaker via count out
