Honestly its been like this for as long as I can remember even dating back to Attitude Era when I first watched it. I think most will know WWE is practically a soap opera mixed in with "some" wrestling. I don't understand how a company called World 'Wrestling' Entertainment focuses more in its merchandise aspect, twitter/fan followers, and its garbage movies.

I got into WWF at the time probably because I enjoyed Wrestling and at the time I did like the soap opera that came with it because the 'Wrestlers' were captivating and enjoyable. Now we dont even have wrestlers they are superstars and most of the show contains a large base of unfunny promo's. It seems WWE are more interested in trying to expand to be something it's not and will never be.

Theres no competitvie well thought out divsion for each class, theres hardly any pure wrestling minus matches like Bryan/Punk. I just dont understand how a company concentrates on so many other aspects with Wrestling feeling like its just an extra addition to this global company. I once read Vince did not want to use the term a 'Wrestling company' which makes me laugh because without Wrestling, what do you actually have?

Really appauls me.:(

WWE list of priorities

1. Making Money.
2. Pushing John Cena down the throats of everyone all the time relentlessly.
3. Massaging the ego of HHH.
4. Changing their entire manifesto, ethos and beliefs to benefit Linda McMahons failed efforts to become senate.
5. Ignoring or burying the blatantly talented.
6. Making large and important feuds and story lines only to flip flop, change their minds and burry some of the greatest concepts they have ever come up with. Nexus, Brock Lesnars return, ending CM Punks momentum and the anonymous RAW GM.
7. Ignoring what the fans want.

This coming from a WWE mark who tries to look on the positive side. But seriously in a year or two things will look a lot better.

Professional wrestling has never been WWE's top priority. It's just one of them. The WWE has everything, from heros and villains, characters, storylines, promo's, and in-ring action.

WWE didn't ban chair shots to the head because of the Linda McMahon senate stuff, they banned it for the safety of their performers.

It's never been their number 1 priority, Vince knows wresting by itself doesn't draw money in North America, you need to have the gimmicks, story lines and promos, and so on to draw in the money.

Wrestling was never WWE/F no 1. priority. Entertainment has always been the focal point of many if not all wrestling promotions , the WWE is no different. The Wrestling aspect of professional wrestling has always played 2nd fiddle to Entertainment no matter what time period or era your watching it in( unless were going all the way back to the 40s and 50s). Pure wrestling doesn't sell anymore, there has to be some type of soap opera involved in it, in order for it to sell to the masses.

Prime example:
The Wrestling booms in the mid 80s - early 90s and 1996 - 2001 didn't occur because of the sole action of Wrestling.

Wrestling doesn't exist to WWE. They care more about their shitty storylines than the fucking wrestling itself. It's a shame, really.

I'd honestly just take a 6 match card a night with a few backstage promos/interview to tie things together. Not this shit we get now. Remember Raw in 2004?

Well let's put it this way: WWE has a full roster of people that can wrestle a great match. They don't have people that can make a remotely decent storyline. So they should probably try and stick to their strengths at the moment.

This is nothng new. The show will never be centered around the act of wrestling, because that is simply not the aspect of the business that has mass appeal. Just look at who the most popular wrestlers ever are. Hogan, Rock, austin w/ 2 bad knees, Sting, goldberg, warrior, whoever. Flair was a great wrestler, but that wasn't why people tuned in for him, it was because the ric flair character was awesome. This has pretty much always been the focus, even prior to the rise of wwe really. The rise of workrate-based indys in the last 10 years has skewed people's opinion on wrestling, but the companies with TV were never wrestling-based like that. hell aside from a horrendously shitty raw this week, wrestling purists should be pretty happy with the product right now, with guys like punk and bryan holding top spots. The big problem is that the storylines and characters just suck fat fucking cock.

I wouldn't call anonymous Raw GM one of the greatest concepts ever. In fact it was one of the worst and most irritating concepts in the past decade.
