Wrestling Edge presents Be The Booker Hall of Fame– Class of 2005
I have been here since May but only started booking since July 13th 2005. My first show was, well nothing short of pathetic! Since then I have improved dramatically, and I feel that I have improved. However it’s not just me that has improved, every single booker out there has shown their worth and booked to the best of their abilities to please us; To show us an alternative, and to show us the way in which they would book their shows if they had a creative job, not just in the WWE but in TNA and also, as we’ve seen, wCw.
For this year’s Nominations I received 8 replies, plus my own which will make it nine. I’ll cut to the chase and here are the names and reasons why the next five individuals will be inducted into the Be The Booker Hall of Fame for 2005.
There were a wide range of nominations ranging from Wolf Beast, to pwcubs1, to JarMac to A-Dust even myself but first of all, the first inductee to the Hall of Fame is:
Pwcubs1
Many have said that he ran one of the greatest shows here. I haven’t been here long enough to know that, but if experienced bookers have said it, then the trust lies within. A great booker always tries to keep going. He or she never gives up. Pwcubs1 had the passion and kept it up. One booker’s passion even inspired one of our greatest Bookers and our very own Moderator to start booking his first ever show ‘wCw Nitro’. When something is inspiring it rubs off and pwcubs1 undoubtedly sent the ball rolling, and made it gather speed for what we now recognise as our own ‘Be The Booker’
The first one down, and things get tougher. Our next inductee however no doubt changed the face of BTB as we now know it. This is;
F-5
‘Gave us the grading system that we now know today’ was one of the replies I received. F-5 not only changed the grading from the past, but this grading system still goes on today. Face it, Bookers would be no where without their readers and fans. I for one can sympathise with this. It is such an overwhelming feeling you get when you see people trying to guess what will happen next, where your show is going. F-5 took the usual ‘Good Show, A’ and transformed a reply into something that is nowadays truly essential in rating a show. Undoubtedly a worthy Booker that has entered the Hall of Fame as without him, who knows if the system would still be here.
Our third Booker entered is a guy with a funny name, but that’s where the funniness stopped as this man turned out to write the first ever thread that went past the glorious ’20 Page’ mark; I give to you;

If there is one thing that you aspire for in Be The Booker, it’s for your thread to be the best. If you have that ambition, and if you sense that you want it to go far, it will.A booker who hit roughly a year’s worth of booking. We already had pwcubs1, but Big Evil Red Devil took Cubs’ ideas, and put them further. It was like ‘the evolution of Be The Booker’. It takes a lot to stay at the top, but when you already are at the top, people remember you for a long time. Legends will always be Legends. I’ve heard comments such as ‘a great booker who inspired all whilst at W-E’. Sometimes W-E has lacked this figure, however my next two people have come damn close to it, since I’ve been here at Wrestling-Edge
Wolf Beast
You look around Be The Booker, and in most respectable threads you see a reply from this person, yes, that is Wolf Beast. Since I’ve been Booking this guy has worked his ass off giving his input and dragging his enormous reputation around, handing advice out here an there. The previous three I have never talked to (on MSN) but I hold regular conversations with Wolf Beast on MSN and he is one of the most honest, good to God, SOB’s you could chat with. Very sociable, and very complimentary, especially when you reveal storylines to him *wink*. His thread has firmly established itself as the Number One Thread in Be The Booker today, and I’m sure no-one would hasten to disagree with me. His constant show writing whilst in his College years shows his passion and dedication for the Forum that grew up to love him. His shows are a breath of fresh air, and something that I always look forward to rating on a Thursday evenings or monthly on a Sunday Night. Wolf Beast, take yourself out for a drink, have a flutter on the Grand National because if I knew you personally, and were 18 and you don’t do it, I’d drag you and make you do it!
That’s four, the last one but certainly not least is a household name, someone everyone has grown up to respect, and at one point in their lives, read his show. But not many of you can admit to writing one right….ha ha. I give to you…
Grendrill
It was about September, I hasten, and then add him. ‘grendrill_reborn has been added to your contact list’. So what do I talk about. Hell he lives in Australia so the time difference is 11 hours, can’t talk about the Premiership, little would I know that this guy would come out to be one of my closest friends. Now you have to think deeper. I haven’t seen this guy, I’ve met him on a ‘closed chatroom’ and I’m calling him one of my friends. Well that’s because he is genuine. Apart from one little issue, this guy has become someone I usually look forward to talking to. It’s gone a little bit over the past few months, but times change, people change, schedules change and you can’t have everything you’ve ever wanted. This guy epitomises everything in Be The Booker. His thread, the most successful in Be The Booker has been going on since June and is still going strong. Their have been issues and I’ll hold my hands up and say I was one of the perpetrators but that was in the past. A Moderator that has deserved to be Moderator. As one person said ‘someone who loves BTB’. He will genuinely do anything to help out, and for that Scott Pankhurst, we are eternally grateful. As for WrestleMania 25, get the beverage out….because it will be one hell of a ride!
So that’s it, those 5 guys have been inducted to the Class of 2005. I hope that I’ll be here next year to observe and to induct more Bookers but for now, I’ve been Michael Gawda, I’ll always be Michael Gawda and thanks for being patient with me in posting these awards…..
If you have anything you want to say, please do so.
