Due to Drew McIntyre's initial push and slip down the card, I was just wondering if there has ever been anyone who has fell right down the card and recovered from it?

I'm talking, Drew as an example, debuting or making their way to the top of the shows and being in the upper leagues or even main event, and then falling all the way down to something as little as appearing only on House shows, to actually managing to get back onto TV and then fighting their way back to the top.

I'm sure there are a lot, but at the moment I can't think of any and wondering if anybody else can?

Daniel Bryan would be a prime example. He went from main-eventing at Survivor Series against the nexus to jobbing on superstars, then winning the MITB and WHC, and now he is in the WWE title picture and when he is out of the WWE title picture, he will atleast be an upper midcarder with the status of Jericho/Orton.

Chris Jericho has been up and down the card his entire career, first undisputed champion to jobbing in the mid card to guys like Benjamin on Raw in 04/05. To going back up to being fired kayfabe wise to coming back in the main event to going to the tag division with Big Show than going back to the main event and leaving again etc.

Shaemus. His rise was really quick, he was on top, whole 2011 he was on lower card and then came, won Royal Rumble and is world champion now.

Don't mean to be a correction nazi or anything, but it was Summerslam not Survivor Series. But yes, Bryan is definitely one of those guys. Although I think once he loses this feud to Punk, he'll either turn into a midcard face or be a Jericho/Big Show tag partner.

CM Punk also- Wins MITB, wins World title, wins tag team championship with Kingston. Recovers, wins WHC again. Loses it, gets buried by Mysterio/Big Show, moves to RAW midcard, commentates. Then that one day in June... it all changed.

Wade Barrett, wins NXT, leader of the Nexus, buried by Cena, midcard on SD, jobs to Ezekiel Jackson, then goes on to feud with Orton of all people.

Also Christian. Returns to ECW, wins title, loses it. Main events Superstars, best buddy retires, wins WHC.

Sheamus is an obvious example. He got a huge push right off the bat, won the WWE Title, had a good reign, won it again then suddenly fell down the card. His match with Bryan for the US Title was even cut from Mania 27. He then moved to Smackdown, turned face and got another huge push out of nowhere, winning the royal rumble, winning the title and being the top face on Smackdown. Was a pretty severe turnaround, each time.

HHH is the first name that comes to mind. This guy was booked to win King of the Ring which was the most important stepping stone of that time & then suddenly he gets forced to job to everyone on roster because of the curtain call. It took him a year and a change of character to recover from it. Within a year in 1998 he becomes the leader of DX the second most popular brand of Attitude Era behind SCSA. 99-01 becomes the top most heel of Attitude Era even Vince got cheered against heel Triple H.

ADR is one of those people that was pushed as soon as he arrived. Got a match with a former 2x world champion in Rey Mysterio for his debut and surprisingly beat him clean (at least if my memory serves me correctly). He's been near the top ever since.

I hate that guy. Good wrestler, but I hate him.

My boy Matt Hardy, after a hot feud with Edge they drafted him to Smackdown where he was basically treading to lose steam for a couple of months before settling into a feud with Helms for most of '06. Followed in with '07 with The Hardy Boyz reunion and his fun year long MVP feud. It really wasn't until his 2008 return that he really gained his mojo back from a booking standpoint and got back on the upper midcard.
