WrestleMania Rewind #19 - Chris Jericho vs Shawn Michaels, WrestleMania XIX

Great match for sure and for me the best match of the year although it was a very close run thing between Shawn Michaels/Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 19 and Kurt Angle/Brock Lesnar in their Iron Man match on SmackDown much later in the year. Either way they were both the two standout matches of that year without question and for me it was this match at WrestleMania 19 that really rejuvenated Chris Jericho as i felt after being buried by Triple H in 2002 he had sort of got lost in the mix.

The best thing about all of this was the fact that five years later these two would put on an even better feud and a series of even better matches which after five years of non stop wrestling outside of injuries for Shawn Michaels showed just how truly great he was. I will also praise Chris Jericho highly as well because the character he portrayed in 2003 was great but he had reinvented himself as a heel five years later for his second feud with Shawn Michaels and reinventing yourself and being successful in any walk of life is hard but wrestling even more so.
