HHH somewhat joked about a new era("reality era" like many people here have mentioned, but as the current era,not the future era in wwe), Heyman mentioned a new era too(though that was probably talking about an era after the streak is broken).

Look at the matches happening at WM:
Wyatt vs Cena
Shield vs Kane/NAO
Bryan vs HHH
Orton vs Batista vs possibly Bryan
Andre The Giant Battle Royal(featuring superstars from numerous generations)

Seems like it has a bit of a "old/current school vs new school" type of feel. Could this years WM really be a launching pad for a new era or something in WWE?

Re: Wrestlemania 30: New Era Begins?

I was just about to post a thread about the same thing. I think WWE realises that they really need new blood and they need to start a 'new era'. What with the part timer guys starting to not work out as much as hoped and the fans becoming more vocal than ever about what they don't like, and NXT being in full swing in creating new superstars, i've got the feeling we may look back in years to come at mania 30 and think that this is when things start changing.

Fair enough Lesnar/Taker is strictly old school but if Bryan beats HHH and beats Orton/Batista then we'll have a new top face for the era in Bryan, if Wyatt beats Cena (in a good match) then that is going to send him skyrocketing to the top as the top dominant heel (who isn't called HHH), The Shield is 3 future main eventers on the cusp of reaching the next level, The Uso's are becoming the stand-out team for the tag division, not to mention if someone like Cesaro or Big E or even Rusev debuted and won the Battle Royal and if Paige was an entrant and won the Divas invitational, I mean wow.

Look at those names:
Bryan
Wyatt
Reigns
Rollins
Ambrose
Uso's
Cesaro/Big E/Rusev
Paige

Definitely the bright future for WWE

People are too obsessed with "eras" as if by calling it a name automatically means the product is better or worse. "Eras" occur organically...trying to force it isn't going to change anything.

True but in previous times, it was just one person that was getting pushed that made people think there was going to be a new era e.g. Punk in 2011, Shield debuting in 2012, Bryan winning the title in 2013.
Now however, there seems to be a wide range of new talent featuring prominently on the card, aswell as HHH and Stephanie running most of the company, and their 'babies' like NXT (which changes how talent is developed) and the Network (which changes how people view WWE and how the company makes a big part of their revenue) taking off really well. Hell, we're even supposed to be getting a new logo for the company in the next few months, I mean it's the network logo but it'll be replacing the scratch 'WWE' logo we've had for the past 12 years

The Reality Era started at Summerslam 2013 when HHH and Orton turned heel. In reality the product has been evolving and changing since The Rock returned in 2011 and the PG Era culminated with Cena beating Rock at WM29. But in the future, people will look back and say that this era began at Summerslam. I don't know why people still want to deny it when Triple H flat-out announced a new era and called it by name.

True, I do remember watching those first few Raw's and Smackdown's after SS2013 where HHH used to have the Roster assemble on the ramp and I remember thinking how vibrant and new the roster looked compared to years gone by. Maybe it's Summerslam 2013 when it 'started' and WM30 where it fully developed and starting going on strong.

To be fair, isn't that how other eras got started too? People saying start of attitude era could've been many diff points, Austin 3:16 promo,Montreal Screwjob and other points, but WM15 was when it started going strong.

No saying quality will be same, just using that as comparison of how it developed time wise.

Bryan, Cesaro, Ambrose, Rollins, Reigns, and Wyatt are all being featured heavily and are essentially carrying this Wrestlemania. All guys who weren't above mid-card status one year ago. I think the Batista flop also proved to them that the crowds are more receptive to their young talent than most of the older stars they might plan on bringing in.

That's a good comparison, although maybe WM14 might be where it started going strong cos you had Austin's first title win and the whole Austin/McMahon feud really went to a whole new level.

Would be interesting to see if in the next year they unload a lot more NXT talent onto the main roster like Ascension, Paige, Zayn, Breeze, Neville, Amore/Cassaday etc... would make the roster look completely different to what it is now when combined with the upper mid-card/main eventers mentioned above.

I'm planning on taking an extended break from wrestling after WM30, so would be cool if when I tune back in maybe around Summerslam or even Mania 31 to see a whole new, strong, hungry roster.

Yeah. The Ruthless Aggression era supposedly started with some nondescript promo from Vince, but in reality you could say there were a bunch of different start points. Austin turning heel at WM17, Shane McMahon appearing on Nitro, Ric Flair returning after Survivor Series 2001, Jericho unifying the belts, the Brand Extension, WWF becoming WWE etc. There's never just one day where things suddenly change. We're clearly in a different era now than we were in 2009/10.

There have been many points where people could say that this 'Reality Era' began. In my opinion it started the night of the Royal Rumble PPV earlier this year. When the fans heavily booed Cena & Orton in their title match (supposedly the greatest rematch of all time, LOL) and mercilessly turned their back on Batista during the Rumble match, whilst cheering on the younger guys throughout the night such as Bryan & Wyatt during their match and Reigns during the Rumble match. This made the WWE wake up and realise that the fans want a change and are beginning to grow tired of the same old stars stealing the spotlight. Since this PPV the fans have become more vocal in their support of the younger generation and displeasure of the older generation and how they are dominating the product.

Since then changes have been made to the WrestleMania match card (Bryan involved in the title match & Batista having no chance in hell of walking out of NOLA with the title) & Wyatt who has been in the company less than a year will take on the biggest star of this generation; John Cena. If Bryan, Wyatt, The Shield walk out with wins as well as a younger competitor winning the Battle Royal we will see the 'Reality Era' come into full effect at WrestleMania XXX. It's time for a change and that change is NOW!
