Yes. "Sports Entertainment" has been The McMahons' phrase for the business since the late eighties. It's not a new phenomenon, just one that's had more emphasis as time went by.

It's always been called sports entertainment as well. In the late 90's i think Vince was pushing for "sports entertainment" to stop the hate from amateur wrestling and professional wrestling name mix up.

Don't you remember "the most electrifying man in sports entertainment" ?

It's been sports entertainment for around 25 years, ever since Vince realised he could promote it to a wider audience that way. One story, which may be apocraphyl but which is revealing nontheless, is that when Turner bought JCP he called Vince to tell him he was now in the wrestling business. Alledgedly Vince's responce was that He was in the entertainment business. This was in 1988.

In addition, remeber what The Rock used to call himself. Was it 'The Most Electrifying Man In Wrestling' or 'The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment'?
