What's he got to do with anything? Cornette unlike Dave retracts stuff if he is proven wrong. He literally apologised to the bucks in his tribute to Jay Briscoe and admitted wbd and not the bucks being jealous was The reason we didn't get the briscoes

Hard agree, it's not as if Jay was walking around weeks before his crash like "no, I take back my apologies, I'm dialling it up, kill em all." It's hypocritical to keep Jay off, but allow, say, Nick Gage on multiple shows.
Maybe because Cornette actually has experience in the business while Dave has been spouting bs as news. One is doing an editorial on modern day wrestling, the other is trying to portray himself a journalist reporting facts.
Huge difference there.

It's weird though. It sounds like you're defending his integrity as an actual journalistic source, but then arbitrarily declaring what that level of integrity that should be, which sounds closer to a gossip rag. Like "plans do change." At the end of the day that's a fancy way to say, "I could be 100% wrong," which after the nth time leads any sane person with a brain to ask what his process is for obtaining and filtering information, and ultimately what and what not to publish.
I don't know or pay enough attention (or have data to cite) to know his actual accuracy, maybe he actually is a credible journalist. But the argument "plans do change" and "you're expecting too much integrity, but he definitely has enough to be considered credible according to me" amounts to a giant anti-intellectual nothingburger.

I guarantee WBD didn’t fucking want either Briscoe on their television…until Tony Khan made it clear to them that a wrestler dying and being honored on a tribute show is an immediate uptick in ratings. Why? Because that’s how goddamn shallow the industry is. You don’t have to like it, but that’s how big business works.
And Dave likely being 100% correct in his information on this topic doesn’t mean you should go listening to him for RUMORS he hears. They’re fucking…RUMORS!

Not blatantly lying to make his preferred wrestling promotions look better than they are is the least I would expect from someone who calls themselves a journalist.
He goes well out of his way to spoil months worth of WWE booking yet has never had a scoop any insider information on any major AEW storyline? He knows how much the company is making yet never asks how much the company is spending.
