Fucking hell. Wrestlemania is ruined

Losing both Roman vs rock
And Ronda vs Becky

Holy fuck. Going to be a B level ppv card that doesn't deserve to break attantendace record
For you maybe. For me, Wrestlemania would have been ruined if they did have those matches.

Here's what I would do:

Cody wins rumble - faces Reigns for title Night 2.

Stone Cold vs Brock Lesnar main events night #1 - Rock as special guest referee. Make this a blowout spectacle - probably ends with Austin going over heel Lesnar, with Rock raising Stone Cold's hand at the end and drinking beers...no titles involved.

Earlier in night 1....Reigns/Rock have a backstage interaction. Reigns acts all cocky, assumes Rock knows he's the best, etc. No phyiscal altercation or anything like that, but you can definitely feel Reigns disrespected Rock, or Rock is pissed.

Night#2 - Cody vs Reigns. Have Rock show up and help Cody win (if you want Cody to have "clean" win, it could simply be a case of Rock chasing bloodline away, instead of overtly attacking Reigns, either/or). End result - Cody is champion, Reigns loses and puts Cody over, and seeds are planted for mega heat between Rock and Reigns.

Does this lead to a WM40 match between Reigns and Rock? if Rock is available, sure. If not, then no. Still a fun and satisfying event for WM39.

Of course this is assuming Rock is available for WM39 - but I can't imagine he wouldn't be for one night only. If he's not wrestling, it's much less demanding of him/much less risky.

Why don't they just change the name this year to TheRockamania then?

You CANNOT keep the World title on Roman until WrestleMania 40. Fucking hell.

Unless the plan is for Cody to beat Roman at WrestleMania with some sort of Rock involvement/interference, setting up Rock vs. Roman at WrestleMania 40?
Rock v Reigns doesn't need the belt and even if they wanted Reigns to be champ he doesn't need to hold it for 365 more days. Like you brought up Rock can cost him this run and he can win it back later after Cody got his time as champ.

Did undertaker need to have a streak at wrestlemania last for 20 years? Did Hogan need a 1000+ did Sammartino need to hold it for that long. That's not an argument

Are they gonna do 1 of the nights Sami zayn , the other Cody Rhodes? The Rock is proabably better slated for Wrestlemania 40, the 40th anniversary of Manis, and Reigns vs Rock finally happen?
No as much as I want it to happen badly. If he's not showing up for 39 he ain't having a match at 40 he's 50. Triple h said the time is now or never

True but it's time to end his reign.
So end it before his reign actually has any significance like being the longest reign of the modern era surpassing Hogan?

So nobody is touching Hogan's record?.

But in saying that if it's ended it needs to not be someone that's the same age as Roman aka Cody Rhodes what a lateral move. They will retire at the same time. Look to the future and give it to Austin or breakker

If anyone breaks Hogan's record, I'd like it to be someone much better than Roman Reigns. I supposed you'd love to see Roman break Bruno's record too.

Dave Meltzer also said in the observer “That he could not confirm that The Rock has officially turned down the match and it is still possible that a Rock return is being kept a closely-guarded secret”. If Rock were to return this would be the case

I find it hard to believe Rock didnt have enough time to prepare. Rock has known for 2 years WM39 was gonna be in LA. I think this report is a red herring

Ignoring the fact that this is a Meltzer report, in other words, meaningless speculation that carries no weight at al all.. Then I think the perfect scenario here imo, is a Rock Bottom to Roman, giving RR winner Cody Rhodes the advantage and the title win
Roman could win it back later this year but sets up Rock/Roman for 40

He's not going to break Hogan's record because Hogan had the WWF Heavyweight Title for 4 years. They could spin it for longest reigning champion since Hogan, but the Universal title isn't exactly in the same prestige or lineage as the WWE Title. The same with Bruno, but they are Bruno style the Universal Title with Reigns by design because they could afford to run that lineage with the shorter history to give it more prestige. The same thing they did with HHH with the world heavyweight title with the "Reign Of Terror."

From the WWE website on the Universal Title: When the WWE Championship became exclusive to SmackDown LIVE following the WWE Brand Extension, Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley created the Universal Championship as the flagship title of Monday Night Raw. The Universal Title then switched to the blue brand with "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt's 2019 victory over Seth Rollins.

WWE Title:The WWE Championship is widely recognized as the most historic championship in WWE.
Dating back to 1963, the WWE Championship was first awarded to Buddy Rogers after he defeated Antonino Rocca in the finals of a tournament in April. Since that time, the biggest names in the business have held the title, including Bruno Sammartino, Andre the Giant, Bret Hart, The Rock and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.

I say this because I could easily see Cody Rhodes dethroning Roman for the WWE Title which the story fits better with Dusty Rhodes never winning it.

I always thought the Universal title was just the "big belt" title from WCW repackaged. When Vince first bought out WCW didn't they have both the WWF World Title and the "big belt" title being held and defended? IIRC, they called the big belt, the World Champion and the WWF was just the WWF World Champion.

Of course The Rock isn't wrestling at WrestleMania.... because it's happening at Summer Slam. Lets get that rumor going now!

I am calling the rock as the special referee in a Cody/Roman title match in the main event of n1.

and then Roman takes issue with the Rock calling the match down the middle and letting Cody take the title and the two have a match to finish out n2

This story is just them trying to keep the match a surprise.
